Marc Jacobs Oh Lola Eau de Parfum
Advantages: smells amazing, very fun and youthful
I have been really liking Marc Jacob's fragrances and really loved Lola, so when I saw this new fragrance of 'Oh Lola' I just had to give this a try and see if it was as good. It comes in a similar type bottle and packaging but I hoped it may be a bit lighter. I had this purchased for me as a gift before my holiday, so was very pleased but I had been dropping hints since trying the sample and to get this was worth the wait as it really is a very nice summer scent.
The bottle for this is very nice and very girly, it has a youthful look to it and is shaped a bit like a vase, quite round but tall and on the lid it is a huge flower. It is very extravagant but would stand out on any dressing table, it is made of plastic but looks dramatic and enticing. The bottle is pink tinted glass and on the side it states the name of the fragrance and that it is by Marc Jacobs and it is just enough without overdoing it. It is an easy to hold bottle and I really like it.
This fragrance at first, I sensed it would be a very feminine scent and assumed by the bottle, that it may have floral notes. However, I was not entirely sure as to what created this scent but it did look trendy and very exciting. I have heard nothing but positive comments about this perfume so had high expectations and when I took the lid off I was not disappointed as this had a very nice scent, perfect for the current season but adaptable for all as it may cheer you up in the colder seasons.
The scent is one which is actually quite fruity smelling on first sniff but with a floral essence to it. It is very light and sweet smelling but also very addictive and I'd say targeted more towards a younger audience. The base notes of this fragrance are sandalwood, tonka bean and vanilla, the vanilla is very apparent and it adds the sweetness. The heart notes are magnolia, peony and cyclamen and lastly the top notes are made up of wild strawberry, raspberry and pear.
It really is created on a very fruity mix of notes but I love this as it is very unique and juicy and probably why I love it so much. The sweet, fruity notes just create a young, fun scent perfect for a summers day or a fun party or a shopping trip. It really is versatile and could even be nice on a romantic occasion and is sexy in a more innocent way with it being light. A few sprays is enough to really smell this as you can smell it strong, I'd say at first it smells fruity then when it settles, it is more sweetness.
This perfume, I'd recommend to all, it oozes youth but older women would love it too but I'd not describe this as an elegant or sophisticated scent just fun and uplifting. It always gets compliments and it stays on all day once I spray it and it keeps that lovely sweet fruity scent even on garments days later. I like that it doesn't need too many sprays and I literally wear it anywhere but probably mostly in the daytime.
This fragrance can be purchased in most department stores, The Perfume Shop are selling the 30ml EDP for £36.50, the 50ml for £46.50 and the 100ml for £62.50 which isn't cheap but it will last you. They are also selling the 150ml body lotion for £25.50 and the 150ml shower gel for £22.50. You can try eBay though for cheaper deals and Christmas for gift sets I'm sure.
