On a recent visit to Boots I discovered Marc Jacobs Sunshine Editions.
There are three fragrances in the Sunshine Editions collection. There is Daisy Sunshine (which comes in the same shape bottle as Marc Jacobs Daisy), Daisy Eau So Fresh Sunshine (which comes in the same shape bottle as Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau So Fresh) and Oh, Lola! Sunsheer (which comes in the same shape bottle as Marc Jacobs Oh, Lola!).
I sniffed at each of the bottles and I bought Daisy Eau So Fresh Sunshine Edition, but then found myself back in Boots a few days later buying Daisy Sunshine Edition.
I had a Boots double points voucher that meant I would get double points on purchases and it was due to expire on 24th February so, knowing that I'd probably end up buying it anyway, I went back to Boots and bought Oh, Lola! Sunsheer.
I don't usually buy myself perfume every five minutes, but I am going through a major perfume obsession at the minute so I am buying a new one every week!
~ Bottle ~
The reason I purchased Oh, Lola! Sunsheer last out of the Sunshine Edition collection was not because I disliked the smell, but because it only comes in a 50ml bottle and I am not keen on the tall 50ml bottles from the Lola range. I much prefer the 100ml oval shaped ones from the range. I find shorter bottles tend to be cuter and I'm a sucker for a nice bottle. I do like this bottle though, but I know what I'm missing now that I've seen the 100ml bottle that the original 'Lola' and 'Oh, Lola!' come in!
The bottle is tall and thin and the glass is slightly tinged light green.
On the front of the bottle are the words, 'Oh, Lola! Marc Jacobs'. It does not say anywhere on the bottle that this is the Sunsheer limited edition version of the fragrance, but you can tell due to the colour differences in the bottle and the lid and the box has 'Sunsheer' on it as well.
The lid is in the shape of a big flower. It has a cylinder shape at the bottom, which is made to look like silver string tied around the stem of the flower.
The flower itself is made from clear pink bendy rubbery plastic. It looks very effective. There is also a clear green coloured leaf that comes out from underneath the flower.
The bottle is nice enough. I do like it, but I prefer the larger bottles that the other Lola fragrances are available in.
~ Price ~
I bought this 50ml eau de parfum in Boots for £47.00. It is not available on the Boots website, but it is available to buy from Debenhams, House of Fraser and The Perfume Shop or on any of their websites.
~ Scent ~
I should mention that this scent comes as an eau de parfum. It is clean, fresh, fruity and floral.
The top notes are raspberry, wild strawberry and pear.
The heart notes are peony, magnolia and cyclamen.
The base notes are vanilla, sandalwood and tonka.
It is described as more fresh and sheer than its predecessor.
I love this scent. It smells really fruity and refreshing. The raspberry and strawberry notes are obvious and I can detect a green scent within it as well.
It is really light, fresh and uplifting. I'd say it was definitely a spring/ summer fragrance.
It is another addictive scent, where you find yourself sniffing at your arm constantly.
I feel that the scent could be a bit stronger. The sillage isn't too bad and I find that this perfume lasts around 8-10 hours, which I am pretty pleased with.
I think the perfume is probably aimed at younger women, but I think this scent is suitable for women of all ages.
The fresh green notes that I detect remind me of being young.
I would definitely say this is a day time scent and not one I can imagine wearing for a night out, not that anywhere I ever go has a strict perfume dress code, but I tend to wear stronger, heavier perfumes for nights out.
~ Conclusion ~
I really love this scent. It is really fresh, fruity and green. It reminds me of being young.
The bottle is nice, although I would have preferred to buy this in a 100ml bottle, which is more attractive as well as holding more perfume.
The longevity is quite good, especially compared with the others in the Sunshine Editions range, but they are eau de toilettes.
I would buy this perfume again if my current bottle ran out as I really love the scent.
Oh, Lola! Sunsheer provides a fresh, floral, fruity and sheer twist on the feminine Lola scent. A lighter scent that opens with notes of raspberry, wild strawberry and pear that blossoms into peonies and magnolia with vanilla, tonka and sandalwood to conclude. A perfect fragrance for summer.
