I haven't had much experience of Moschino perfumes so when I saw this one on sale around Christmas time I decided to give it a try. I didn't actually smell the perfume before I bought it as it was on such a good offer that I thought it would be worth the minimal cost.
This perfume comes in an unusual heart shaped gold embellished glass bottle. It has a shiny red plastic lid and inside the liquid is a soft yellowy gold colour. Personally these colours and the design are all a little bit too Moulin Rouge for me. That said, the bottle is a fun and pretty little thing and if you like these kinds of colours or this style then it would be perfect.
The bottle doesn't bother me that much as long as the perfume is nice because I don't tend to keep them on display anyway. What hits you straight away is a lovely heavy floral tone, this is underpinned by musky, salty scents and more subtly by sweet and citrus fragrances. These are quite unusual tones to combine and it certainly gives the scent a very distinct smell.
The top notes of the scent are artemisia, tangerine blossom and salt. I've never really come across a perfume that uses salt before as one of the notes but it does temper the slightly sweeter smells in the perfume so this doesn't really bother me all that much. The heart notes are hibiscus, orchid and water lily which account for the heavy floral tones. This adds a lovely powdery softness which cuts through some of the sharper tones and softens the salt aspect in the top notes. The base notes are amber, cedar and musk which gives a lovely mellow tone to the perfume and add a depth which is much needed.
Though I do like the separate tones in this perfume there is something slightly odd about the way in which they combine which I can't quite put my finger on. I think they just don't completely work together and whenever I wear it I find it a bit cloying. I'm not a huge fan of citrus scents and perhaps it is the way in which these combine with the florals that doesn't appeal to me.
This perfume retails at around £25-£50 depending on the size that you go for and where you buy it. Mine was cheaper than that because it was on offer when I bought it. I think I will continue to use this as it makes quite a nice summer evening scent because of the deep muskiness in the base of the scent. It is not entirely my kind of thing but for the price I paid I'm willing to continue using it.
Overall, this is an okay scent but not for me.
I bought this perfume as I was looking for a change. I wanted something I had never had before and I am really fussy. It was very well priced in the Duty Free shop and came in a gift set with the body lotion also.
The perfume smells lovely. It is distinctive and fresh.
The bottle is really pretty and looks lovely on my shelf with my other perfumes.
The one thing I am not impressed about is that you have to use quite a lot and it doesn't seem to last. I am used to getting whiffs of the perfume I am wearing throughout the day and night and with this I don't. I'm not sure whether you can actaully smell it once I have been wearing it fro a while. I don't even notice that my clothes smell of it when I have had it on like other perfumes.
I do think this perfume is lovely but I don't think it lasts.
I'm not sure why i'm the first to write a review for this perfume, because it is amazing! I would've thought more people would be raving about how fab it smells. Anyway, the initial thing that attracted me about this perfume is that it has absinthe as one of the ingredients, which I thought added a bit of rock n roll glamour to it, and the perfume itself does have a greenish tinge reminiscent of the green eyed fairy itself. The bottle is cute too, it's kind of heart shaped with a big red lid that looks like a little apple. I got my perfume in a gift set and it came with the perfume itself, then a small gift bag with body lotion, bath crème, and the cutest miniature version of the larger bottle. This perfume smells incredible, I have never had so many compliments from wearing a scent! I use the lotion on nights out, as I find in smokey club atmospheres (I live in Poland, we're yet to have the smoking ban) I go out smelling great but after an hour or so the great, sexy moschino scent is covered by a stale pubbish smell, so I rub a bit of the lotion onto my wrists and behind my neck whilst i'm out, it's a LOT more convenient than taking the whole bottle out! Also I don't have a bath but rather than throwing out the bath crème I use it on a puff as a shower gel before a big night out.
I would defintely say this is one of my favourite perfumes, I very sexy, fresh, young smell, a definite party scent! Though it is versatile enough to use during the day, I just can't help but smell it and want to go out dancing til 6am :)
So, go out and buy this perfume! You'll love it! And if you can find it (probably from perfumeshop) I would definitely reccoment the lotion too, it's lasted forever and is great for nights out/taking away for weekends when you don't want to be carting around glass bottles of perfume.
