The first time I smelled Narciso Rodriguez For Her was on a perfume sample card inside a magazine some time last year. I had never heard of this perfume but from the moment I sniffed the tester I knew I had to get a bottle of this! I kept picking up the magazine to turn to the tester page to smell it until I bought my bottle. It was a scent which instantly attracted me. I would describe For Her as a musky floral. According to Fragrantica.com, the top notes are rose and peach. The heart is amber and musk and the base notes are patchouli and sandalwood. Those notes give a fairly accurate picture of what Narciso Rodriguez For Her smells like, but I think this fragrance is quite unique and hard to capture in words. Still, I will do my best! First of all, the musk makes it heavier than a lot of other floral perfumes as the musk is very noticeable even from the first spray and remains quite constant, but it is definitely not a powdery and old fashioned "Granny's perfume" type scent. The rose and peach make it soft and sweet, but definitely not sugary. I would say it is girly, but grown up. I have heard some people say they think it is quite a masculine scent due to the woody notes in the dry down, but I personally don't agree. I find it very feminine and girly. I think the colours (pale pink) and the advert suit the scent. It does seem to be a slightly "love it or hate it" scent but I LOVE it and would encourage anyone to try it. As it is on the heavier side for a floral, I think it is perfect for the Autumn and winter, day or night. Personally I would probably go for something else lighter and fruitier on a summer day. The sillage and lasting power are excellent. I can smell it throughout the day without having to desperately sniff my wrist to detect it. The bottle is simple but classy and attractive. It is a heavy, sturdy pale pink glass bottle with Narciso Rodriguez For Her written in small black writing and a shiny pink rectangular top. The pink bottle comes in a black box, and the Eau de Toilette concentration has the opposite colours, i.e. black bottle in a pink box. This perfume first came out in 2003 but seems to be getting very popular over the last year. It was even recommended by Sali Hughes in the Guardian around Christmas time. You can now buy it at the usual suspects such as Debenhams, House of Fraser, the airport duty free shops but it is slightly more expensive than a lot of other perfumes. Debenhams currently have it at £56.50 for 50 ml. I bought my bottle on a British Airways flight at £45 for 50 ml, which is more in line with what I would normally expect to pay for a perfume.
I had never heard of Narciso Rodriguez nor seen this perfume before until I was lucky enough to receive a free sample of it. I got a nice little spray bottle but of course its nothing like the full size bottle so I have no idea what type of packaging this comes with, however I do know the bottle is an oblong shape and pink in colour which fits very well with the name of the perfume, For Her. The full size bottle looks very girly and pretty. Narciso Rodriguez For Her eau de parfum is described as " a fragrance of seduction and femininity". and has the following notes:- Top-- Pink floral Middle--Soft amber Base--voluptuous woods. When I first sprayed For Her on me I was shocked, the initial smell was so strong and chemical I wondered for a second if it was a perfume, it got in the back of my throat and smelt harsh. I couldn't detect any pink floral smell at all. The initial chemical smell wore off very quickly and I was left with a sharp almost fruity smell. I wasn't keen on this it was far too harsh for me but I was running late for work so I just left it. As the fragrance developed the smell softened and actually did start to smell slightly floral, still not what I would call a real floral fragrance but the harsh sharpness had gone. The smell was still strong and I was glad I hadn't sprayed too much on. Gradually the perfume changed and although it had turned slightly more floral In my opinion this didn't really develop as I had hoped. The perfume changed to a sweet musky fragrance which was slightly spicy, at this point For Her started to remind me of Prada by Prada my all time favourite. For me personally this fragrance didn't really change after this, it remained musky for the remainder if the time which wasn't that long. By lunch time the smell had all but gone I could hardly smell it at all. I was pleased to have tried this eau de parfum but I certainly wont be buying a full size bottle and I don't really recommend it. The smell is far too strong and harsh to start with and when it settles into more of a pleasant smell it doesn't last very long at all. This wouldn't, in my opinion, be suitable for young teenagers I would say its more of a slightly older fragrance, I would also say this would be suitable for daytime or evenings but you may need to top it up several times If you think this perfume may be for you and fancy trying it then Debenhans currently have the eau de parfum on sale for £55.14 for 50mls and £71.48 for 100mls. Its slightly cheaper online at www.theperfumeshop.com where a 50ml bottle will cost £54.20 and 100mls is £69.99, however this small saving would probably be eaten up with postage. All in all I was disappointed with For Her by Narciso Rodriguez, for the price being asked for it I would want it to have much better lasting power, on me it soon fades away.
Sometimes, you stumble across a perfume that is not perfect, but not that bad either. This perfume from Narciso Rodriguez became that perfume for me; not excellent, but not that bad... I think the first thing that didn`t quite appeal to me with this perfume, was the very, very feminine looking bottle, it just became too girly for me, and I didn`t get it... So, with the negativity of not liking the bottle hanging over me, was I able to sniff away at the perfume with a fresh mind? Yeah, I think I was! To my nostrils, this became a very intense, strong and musky experience, as I found the fragrance to be very intense and way too much for my liking. Instead of being mild and suttle, this fragrance in many ways ruins for itself by trying too much, and though there are several scents that appeal to me in the blend, it ended up making me kind of woosy and with an headache, which unecessary to say didn`t give this perfume an extra plus... There are several exotic fruits and flowers in this perfume, but I do think I also noticed the classic scent of rose in here, and undoubtedly a big splash of musk... Yes, so this perfume wasn`t a big hit for me, and with it lasting about 4 hours before you have to apply more, not really wanting to apply more, this is a perfume I don`t really recommend that much, as it`s also very expensive, a 50 ml bottle owning the cost of 55.99. Not going to be a favourite.
I recieved this perfume last christmas as a gift from my husband. It had been recommended to him by a friend and told how nice it was. The first thing I noticed about this was how simple the bottle was. It certainly didn't look like anything special and has a simple pink pull off lid. So much so i was surprised when I realised how expensive it was. £45 for ml from Boots but certainly looks like a cheaper bottle of eau de parfum. I'd never heard of Rodriguez Narciso before and not being one to usually stray far from my favourite scent i was a little dubious about trying it. The following evening I decided to give it a go and wore it to meal out with friends. After spraying this perfume on my skin I immediately noticed how powerful it is. The scent is really strong. Two squirts is all that is needed without it becoming too much. The perfume is primarily floral which put me off a little bit. I tend to go for a more citrus fresher smell and this was initially very heavy. This made me feel quite paranoid and left me wondering if I may choke my friends or send them into a sneezing fit. However, as time passed the strength of the perfume faded somewhat and left a gentler musky smell which I actuaaly prefered and my friends did comment on how nice it was. I think in future I will use this perfume an hour or two before leaving the house in order to achieve the right fragrance. I possible would recommend this perfume for a more mature lady and to be worn on a special evening occasion. It is certainly too heavy to be worn as a day time fragrance. When I've used this bottle i can't see myself buying it again. Personally I prefer something lighter and fresher but I can see myself having this 50ml bottle for a long long time. I have given this fragrance 3 stars because on the right person this could smell very elegant. Unfortunately it's not for me.
~Unexpected!~ If it wasn't for the free sample I received of this perfume I never would have known about it. I was surprised to receive it as it came with a Tigi product I ordered from Amazon a while ago. Now me being me I was delighted, another scent to try out, I'd never heard of it before so I quickly sprayed my wrists to try it out. ~An exotic mix...~ My first impression of this perfume was how strong the scent was, almost eye wateringly so. I had only sprayed a very small amount onto one wrist and rubbed my wrists together, I was really surprised that such a little amount could smell that strong, however it is Eau de parfum and not Eau de toilette so that explains why only a very small amount is needed. This perfume is Narciso Rodriguez's first signature scent, it is an exotic blend of Egyptian Musk and Pink Chypre with a hint of a rare pink floral weave of rose petals and peach pulp. A delicious blend of something a little exotic in my opinion. I find the perfume to be very strong and after several hours of wearing it becomes very musky, well on me at least, I can smell the scent quite strongly even after a few hours of wearing. I think the perfume smells better the longer I wear it, at first it is just too strong for me and I don't feel happy about the scent until it has blended in a bit. A heavy scent indeed which I wouldn't wear in the daytime, I feel this perfume is far better suited for nighttime and I would recommend that you spray this perfume on at least an hour or so before you go out, it does truly smell better after a while and besides you wouldn't want to be chocking people with your perfume at the beginning of the evening, well I wouldn't anyway. ~A mature perfume?~ Better suited to the more mature woman I think, but that is only my opinion as it is a very heavy, strong scent and quite spicy smelling. I wouldn't have purchased this perfume myself but as I got a sample and indeed used the sample up, my husband took a liking to the scent and bought me a 50 ml bottle with out my knowledge and he paid around £55.00 for it, so I do wear it but not very often, I have so many other scents that I prefer and for me personally others I have are far easier for me to wear, if you get my meaning, easier on my nose is what I think I'm trying to say. ~Overall...~ So to sum up this perfume then, yes I like it, yes it's extremely feminine, yes it's very strong smelling. No I don't need to keep spraying once I've sprayed once, no I wouldn't wear it throughout the day and no it's not a perfume that I would rush out to buy should I run out. But everyone is different and different scent's suit different people, it is a nice perfume if you are after something very strong, spicy and long lasting, but on the other hand if you prefer something a little lighter and maybe a little more flowery smelling then I'd say go for something else. ~How much and where from?~ This perfume can be purchased from Debenhams for £55.14 per 50 ml bottle and £71.48 per 100 ml bottle. The design of the bottle is very simple, nothing overly fancy about it, but that kind of appeals to me in a way. I'm giving Narciso Rodriguez for Her 3 stars, I kind of like it but I kind of don't at the same time. Thank you for reading my review which may also be posted on other sites.
I am a real girly girl and if you have read any of my previous perfume reviews then you will know that I use a lot of different perfumes as well as having my favourites. A recent trip to Boots saw me pick up one of the more expensive bottles of perfume that I have purchased in a while. I treated myself to a 50ml bottle of Narciso Rodriguez For Her, Eau de Parfum after having a spray of the tester. The 50ml bottle set me back £35 and it was on offer at this price, I believe it should have been a little over £40. So we have established that this is an expensive perfume so let's now discuss whether or not it is worth its price tag. Well the scent is lovely and after a spray of the tester I was desperate to own a bottle however it should be said that the scent does change slightly after a few minutes of being applied. The scent goes on very strong and has a sweet fruity smell to it but this calms down and a more musky deep scent shines through, the original sweet powerful smell is lovely but thankfully the longer lasting deeper scent is every bit as nice. The notes in this scent are many, there is Egyptian Musk, Coriander, Amber, Vanilla, Bergamot, Vetiver, Osmanthus and orange Blossom. Now some of these are just words to me and I have no idea what they may smell like on their own but I can confirm that when put together they are divine. Ok so the next big thing for me in a perfume after the scent is the longevity and this one is ok on that front but not the best and for what it costs you might think you would be entitled to expect better. I find that an application to the wrists and neck can still be detected after around 4 or 5 hours but I have cheaper perfumes that will stay with me all night on a heavy night out. I am happy to slip the bottle in my handbag and re-apply on a night out but some might not be and some might think that for about forty quid a bottle we really shouldn't have to. So there you have it, it's a beautiful scented perfume that smells as good on as it looks good in its slim rectangular bottle and it does have a decent longevity but some might feel not long enough. Me personally I say get yourself a bottle and it is unlikely you will be disappointed. I certainly will replenish when gone!
This was the first scent that I had tried from this designer. I bought this bottle myself which is a bit unusual as I usually tend to get Perfume as presents, but I often don't get perfume that costs all this much that much. I bought this in a 50ml bottle and paid £41 for it. I had smelt this in Boots as I had a squirt of this and after sniffing this through the day then I liked how it smelt, so decided to treat myself. Doesn't happen very often I admit, but it has been known! I have seen after looking online that you can get this in a 30ml and 100ml bottle and I guess perhaps if I had seen this in the 30ml bottle then I may have just bought that size. The bottle looks like the Dooyoo picture. Reminds me a bit of the d&g light blue bottle in the rectangular shape of this bottle, but the lid is a bit different. This is a light pink coloured bottle and looks nice and pretty looking. So how does this smell? there is lots of notes in here and although a lot of them are probably similar smelling notes, there is a bit of variation in here. The notes are Egyptian Musk, Amber, Coriander, Bergamot, Vanilla, Vetiver, Orange Blossom, and Osmanthus. Not sure what some of these smell like as don't know what a few of them are, but it all goes together well. When I sprayed this in the shop it was only 2 squirts and I could still smell the scent hours later on. When I spray my usual 3 squirts everywhere I can smell this from day until night time. I still reapplied this to freshen up, but I was conscious of the price of this. I would say that you can smell a good mix of the notes, but probably the Musk is the main scent. The scent has a nice sparkling scent in here as well. So would I recommend this scent? Yes I would. It is a lovely scent and has a nice rich and expensive scent to it. It is however that bit expensive and I don't tend to use this all too much and feel it's more a "special occassion" scent. Recommended if you have some cash to splash
I asked very nicely indeed for this perfume for my birthday last year. It was part of a set of perfume and body lotion and so was slightly better value. I pussyfooted around this perfume for months. It was first brought to my attention by a film starring meg ryan where her husband is cheating on her.Every time I meandered around the perfume counters in house of fraser i took a sniff of it and thought gawd this is strong and a bit yuck. Then i sprayed it on my wrist and let it settle in and oh.my.gawd. It was a revelation. Women can seach for years for the illusive perfect scent and never find it.But i have found my perfect 'never get sick of it' scent. It develops better than any other perfume i know, dont be fooled by the strong initial whoosh of scent. After it gradually develops into a warm delicious waft of yummyness it lasts all day, hardly any need to retouch. The bottle is pretty in pink, it really glams up your handbag.expect jealous glances, this is an 'it' perfume. As for the lotion, i didn't like it.Too strong, giving way to a powdery scent.
When Im shopping on amazon I tend to stick to the same sellers all the time - Ive very good at knowing which ones have the best deals on make-up and hair products. Anyway I usually order all of my TIGI products from Escentual as they are cheap and very quick and because I spend so much with them I often open my package and find a little free gift inside which most of the time is a small sample bottle of perfume which I think is very nice of them! Anyway thats how I got a small bottle of this 'Narciso Rodriguez For Her' a few months ago - I ordered some Small Talk and got this inside so I thought Id start using it straight away - simply because Id never even heard of the brand name before and I wanted to see if it was any good! Useful Information: Price: 50ml bottle - Around £45 Stockists: Amazon, The Perfume Shop, Bodycare, Boots etc ... Other Info: This perfume is also available in 30 & 100ml bottles and can be bought as part of a set also containing shower gel & body lotion. This scent is described as the ultimate womanly fragrance by the makers so it does have a lot to live up to! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - The Bottle: Now as I mentioned I received this perfume as a free sample so I dont have the proper bottle design that you would get if you were to buy the full sized version. The small vial I own is very tiny and actually only contains 1ml of the perfume. It is baby pink in colour and the push down nozzle and cap at the top are both a striking black which really stands out against the light pink. If you get a proper bottle it should be the same colour only the bottle is larger and sqaure rather than tiny and vial shaped like mine. I quite like that my bottle is so small because I think that makes it much easier to carry around and use on the go which is why I use this so much when Im shopping or out at work - its much easier than lugging a massive glass bottle around. I think the bottle design is really nice - it manages to look girly and feminine but remains effortlessy stylish and classy - Im annoyed mine has to go in the bin after this review as Ive just used the last of this perfume :[. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - The Scent: Im pretty rubbish when it comes to noticing the individual notes in a perfume so I did do some digging around the net to find this list of ingredients: Top Notes: Coriander, Egyptian Musk & Amber. Middle Notes: Osmanthus, Vanilla & Vetiver. Base Notes: Bergamot & Orange Blossom. Now that surprised me because normally the notes that are said to be strongest in this perfume are the ones you would find right at the bottom when the scent is about to fade - this perfumes notes strengths are like the opposite of what you would normally find which means this perfumeis very unique and far from ordinary. The musk is definitely the strongest note straight off and throughout the whoel time your wearing this - thats the one note that I could actually pick out myself so it must be quite noticable. The vanilla is also a very strong scent all the way through wearing this - those 2 scents are usually the ones you get in the background of a perfume so I was pleasantly surprised that they were more up front in this perfume - its not something I usually find with any scent. Having said that the fragrance in my opinion is mainly floral which I guess must come from the orange blossom & osmanthus and they are strong enough to get the full floral scent but they arent too much flowery or overpowering at all - and thats coming from someone who isnt normally a fan of floral perfumes. This is one scent for literally any time, weather or occassion I cant think of one time or place that this perfume suits more - its light enough for day, yet complex enoug for the night and normal enough for work, but offers something a little different for maybe a date or a night out at the pub. I think this fragrance will suit most people. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Other Comments: Staying Power: Is absolutely amazing I think. I applied this at around 5am this morning and Ive only just had to spray a little bit more now so it has lasted pretty much all day which for me is brilliant - theres nothing worse than a scent you have to keep spraying all the time. Age: Id probably recommend this for old teens and upwards. I dont think younger people will enjoy the scent as much - this is definitely one for moms, grandma's, aunties, sisters literally ayone can wear this perfume and I think most age groups will really love it. Day Or Night? Summer Or Winter? It really doesnt matter. This perfume isnt more suited to one time of day over another and the same for weather/season/occasions I could happily wear this for anything so it is definitely one of the most versatile fragrances Ive ever used. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - I wouldnt hesitate to recommend this perfume as I love it and I think others will to. Its a little more than Id normally pay for perfume but Im hoping if I hint enough a bottle might end up on my Christmas list hehe. Thanks For Reading. x0 Salz 0x
