Wrap yourself in cashmere with this soft and comforting fragrance from Next.
I'm not big of perfumes from stores and much prefer a brand name perfume as I think they smell better and last longer than cheaper fragrances but I have been pleasantly surprised with this cashmere fragrance from Next.
I received it in a gift scent last Christmas and it was joined with some body lotion and body wash and also a lip gloss. I was really surprised to find that the set cost just £12 which is a lot cheaper than any designer fragrance gift set that you can huy. If you were to buy the 30ml bottle of Cashmere on its own it costs just £7.50 which is a really good price for any scent in my opinion and is a perfect price if you just want something nice smelling for the office or on off days when you don't want to wear your favourtie expensive perfume but you do want to smell nice and make a good impression.
The scent is described as, "a soft and sensuous fragrance combining beautiful florals and delicate powdery musks."
I find it really quite warm with a creamy softness, it really does feel like you are wrapping yourself in a lovely cashmere blanket and making your whole, body smell lovely and appealing. The muskiness smell does fade after a while but I definitely think this is a fragrance that smells much more expensive than it actually is.
All in all I would say this is a nice scent and a good choice for your daily fragrance. It can be purchased in either Next stores or online.
For Christmas last year I received a gift set from Next. It came with a 12ml roller ball Cashmere eau de parfum.
I hadn't heard of this perfume, but it seems it was launched in the 2000's.
I had had little experience with Next's perfumes so was unsure what to expect, but I had tried their men's fragrances in the past (for my partner) and my partner and I had quite liked them. One problem we found though, was that they were discontinued quickly and therefore could not easily be replaced.
~ Bottle ~
My perfume is just a small roller ball so comes in a cylindrical tube with a gold screw on lid.
The full size bottle of Cashmere is a flat circular shape with a clear rectangular shaped lid. I think the bottle is nice. It is feminine and sophisticated.
~ Price and availability ~
A gift set containing a 30ml bottle of this perfume along with 100ml body wash, 50ml body soufflé and a 9ml softening lip balm is currently selling on next.co.uk for just £12.00.
You can buy the 30ml bottle on its own for £7.50.
The 75ml bottle can be purchased on its own for £12.00.
The bottles are the same design, but the 75ml bottle is obviously larger and it reminds me a bit of Giorgio Armani Idole D'Armani because of the flat rounded shape.
As well as the website, the perfume is also available in Next stores.
~ Scent ~
Cashmere is described as a gentle and delicate fragrance. It has a pleasant floral scent. I don't find it overpowering at all. I would say it is fairly subtle on your skin.
It is a warm soft feminine fragrance and it is also quite powdery. I think it is more suited to the autumn/ winter months as it is warming and cosy.
I was surprised at how much I liked this fragrance and I regularly wear it for work, but my little roll on is almost empty now. I have found that it is long lasting and is still detectable at the end of my working day, when applied in the morning.
I tend to wear this perfume during the day rather than for special occasions or nights out. I think it is more suited for day time wear. I wouldn't say it's not heavy enough for nights out, but I can't imagine choosing it to wear for a night out.
I can imagine this would appeal to women of all ages.
On fragrantica.com it has been compared to Noa Cacharel, which is a perfume I also really like, perhaps a little bit more than this scent to be perfectly honest, but I can see the similarities between the two fragrances.
~ Overall ~
Overall, I really like this perfume. It is warm, cosy, soft, feminine and floral. It is long lasting and the bottle is quite pretty as well.
I would definitely buy this perfume again. It is well worth the price. I would recommend this perfume for yourself or as a gift. The gift sets are also reasonably priced.
I thought that I had already wrote about this Perfume - but obviously not. So here I am writing about it now. I tried this about a year ago and it is a nice enough scent. This is not my favourite kind of scent and therefore not the scent I like.
This comes in a 30ml bottle which costs £6, a 100ml bottle which costs £12 and a gift set which comprises of a 30ml Perfume, a 50ml Shower Gel and 50ml Body Lotion for £12. Sure there is something else in the gift set but i've never bought it this way myself so not sure, just seen it in the shop.
I'm not so keen on the bottle of this. I think this looks a bit of an older perhaps cheap Perfume. Yes, it is a cheap Perfume in a way, but I just think the bottle could look a bit nicer. This is obviously just my view though. The glass is clear and ridged and there is lots of quite thick ridges on this. You can see the light peach liquid through the bottle.
According to the box this is "A soft and sensual fragrance combining beautiful Florals and delicate Powdery Musks." Reading the description of this it isn't the kind of scent that I go for. Sounds a bit too heavy and sickly Floral kind of scent. I prefer light, fresh and fruity scent.
When I first sprayed this I thought it smelt a bit powdery. I have read a few different reviews of this and people have reported that this smells a bit like Talc, which I would agree with this statement. After the scent dries and warms onto your skin the scent doesn't smell quite as powdery, but you can still smell it a bit. After spraying jsut a couple of sprays of this it is quite strong, but depending on how strong you want this then just spray a few squirts or a lot sprays.
This smell lingers for quite a while. It did go weaker quite quick, but after a few hours you could still smell the Musky warm scent from this.
I still have a bit of this left in the bottle and I'm not in all that much a rush to use it up. It's just not the kind of scent for me, and perhaps I could think that this is more a scent for an older person as the bottle design would suggest.
Perhaps worth a try if you like Floral Musky scent.
A little while ago whilst browsing in Next I saw that they had some perfumes on a stand near the door. This was news to me as I had no idea that next did fragrances. I had a spray of a few and ended up buying their cashmere scent as I thought it smelt nice in the shop and it came in a nice little gift set containing a 30ml Eau de parfum along with a body wash, cream and a bath essence all for only £10.
I was quite pleased with my little bargain until I got home and realised that I had confused the nice smell with another perfume I had tried and the cashmere wasn't actually one that I was all that keen on.
Not to be detered I wore it a few times and although it is ok that's as far as I would go and I have no intention of ever buying it again.
It is very floraly but not in a light way as it is extremely strong smelling. I actually don't have a problem with it being so strong as I like a good potent perfume but this is just cheap and nasty smelling.
I have no idea what the notes in the pefume actually are but even if I did I doubt I would be able to smell them as everything in it just overpowers the others.
The good thing about it is that it does last a long time on the skin so if you decide that you like it then you can be assured of a good deal as a little goes a long way with this stuff.
There is something just so old fashioned about the smell and I can't put my finger on exctly what it is but I think it might have something to do with the fact that it is just so fake smelling like it was cooked up in a lab with chemicals with no thought given to the type of woman who would actually wear it.
Surprisingly my mum really liked this so I offloaded the perfume to her and it actually doesn't smell as bad on someone else as it did to my nose when on me so perhaps it just didn't mix well with my skin or something.
I found this to be cheap and nasty and have to say it's not something I would ever recommend to someone.
I'm quite a fan of NEXT's own brand of perfumes and luckily for me my friends and family are aware of this too, so I always expect the odd fragrance or gift set at Birthdays and Christmas.
I didn't have to wait that long luckily as a while ago a good friend gave me some unwanted toiletries whilst having a clear out, and half a bottle of this perfume - Cashmere - was one of the hidden gems that I unearthed at the bottom. The reason being she said, was it was bought as a gift but she wasn't keen because "It had an old person smell"!! Never one to look a gift horse in the mouth I eagerly started wearing it anyway..
Cashmere is an exclusive NEXT product and can be found in their shops or their website - www.next.co.uk - or on Ebay.
It comes in a variety of sizes, though this particular one I am reviewing is the largest sized bottle at 100ml's and costs a very reasonable £12.
The bottle is very decadent and has a real 50's boudoir appearance to it - a 'squashed' rounded glass bottle with embossed lines that cascade downwards and an elegant see through lid on top of the nozzle. The bottle is transparent so the perfume, which is a warm pinky/beige colour, can be clearly seen.
Very frustratingly I cannot find any information on the notes used to make up this fragrance. The official NEXT website merely hints that it is "..a soft and sensuous fragrance combing beautiful florals and delicate powdery musks.."
That's the official quote anyway so I'll try and explain what I think about it.
On first spraying this onto my skin it was quite overpowering - to the point where it almost takes your breath away and has you coughing. I soon realised that with this fragrance that little does in fact go a very long way.
The scent does start to fade luckily after about ten minutes to a comfortable degree though still maintains a strong presence. To describe it best I would say it has a very prominent floral heart - but what exactly I'm stumped. It's almost like a rose but I do not know whether this is used that is merely my opinion. Once the scent does settle it has a softer, almost talcum powder essence to it, so for it to be described as being powdery is certainly correct.
Would I recommend this? It depends. It's certainly a very pretty fragrance, but I do understand what my friend meant, as it has a strong floral heart which fades to a musky powder - it's more like something that you might buy your Grandmother for Christmas if I'm being honest.
It is a very pretty perfume, there is no denying that, but it tries too hard and comes across as being too much - it's far too overpowering when first applied to the skin. That aside though it actually has very good staying power and lasts for several hours, which for £12 is very good value.
I'd say this is best suited to the older generation as I can't see many younger women liking it ( I may be wrong) and it's certainly not the sort of thing a teenager would be into.
I have been wearing this as it was free but I doubt I would buy it myself or ask for it as a present. It's a shame really as I have owned most of NEXT's perfumes at one point or another and have always found them to suit all ages.
Nice enough if bought as a gift and looks more expensive than it is but I wouldn't buy it myself. Because it's just *not for me* it's difficult to rate so I'm going to go with a 3 out of 5.
Next's cashmere fragrance is a fantastic creation that consists of a lovely and soft musky fragrance, which is ideal for subtle day wear. At a cost of £12 for 75ml it is a bargain compared to other fragrance prices too, which means that you are not scared of putting it on everyday or topping up if you need to. That said, the fragrance does seem to be reasonably long lasting, although not as good as some of Next's other scents.
The cashmere fragrance is also available incorporated into products such as body creams and shower gels. Whilst these are nice to use, I personally felt that the scent in them is not strong enough. They do make a nice addition to a gift set though.
The cashmere perfume is available in a variety of bottle sizes, and the glass bottle that the perfume comes is in simple and nice. I think that considering the price, this perfume is excellent value for money and I often wear it on a daily basis
Next: Cashmere, Eau de Parfum
I got this a few days ago for my birthday and I had not tried this next perfume before. I have tried the daisy one (the one with the bottle that looks just like the mark jacobs one, which I also love) and it was really good. So I was happy when I saw this as next is a really good brand in my opinion and the perfumes always look really nicely packaged.
*About the perfume*
I have the 30ml bottle and it is not like the one in the picture, it is a vertical cylinder and firstly the packaging is so cute and really nice, for the one I have which again is different to the picture. The one I have has a baby pastel pink box and on the sides of the box it has a kind of henna/floral pattern in gold which looks so nice (like my wallpaper)! And the bottom of the bottle also has the same floral/henna pattern in gold too which looks really classic and elegant.
*My opinion on the fragrance*
I really really like this fragrance, it is floral and sweet with a hint of musk like many of the other perfumes I have and others that I like. It smells to me more of a 'classic' scent a little bit different to what I usually wear but it is nice.
It says: 'A soft an sensuous fragrance combining beautiful florals and delicate powdery musks'. Which just sums that fragrance perfectly.
I do like this but I think it is a bit too of an 'old fashioned' scent to me, I don't really know how to explain it but I don't think it is a fragrance for younger people, I don't really know, but well my mum likes this perfume so lets put it that way.
Overall I do like this perfume as I change from the lighter more sweeter perfumes I usually wear and the packaging is so gorgeous. But I don't think is is really a 'young persons' fragrance if you know what I mean, but every body is different and fragrances are a really personal thing, but I still think it is nice and it lasts for a while on my skin too.
*Really nice packaging
*Stays for a while on my skin
*A nice and 'soft' 'warm' scent
*Gifts sets available
*too 'musky' for me
*To me it smells like an 'old fashioned' fragrance but fragrances are up to personal opinions
Thank you for reading my review
