This was a secret Santa present from a work colleague last year. I keep this perfume in my car for those days where I forget to put perfume on, or if I am heading out, I spritz some of this on. I wasn't aware of this scent before receiving my bottle, but I have liked a number of Next scents over the years.
The bottle is a clear diamond shape, and while I have lost the lid, from memory, it was also a clear diamond shape. You can see the pale pink perfume inside the bottle. Even the look of the packaging of this perfume seems sweet and girly.
This perfume has a really sweet scent, and while I find that some sweeter scents can be slightly overpowering or sickening, this one isn't. The initial scent is a strong fruity, slightly floral scent, mixed with a hint of muskiness. I do find that the musk does fade slightly, but the overall lasting scent is the same as the initial burst. I can't find what the ingredients are in this perfume, but fruity scent seems to be a berry mix, with a hint of a white floral scent. It is a fairly long lasting scent. I sprayed this in the morning and I could still detect traces of it in early afternoon.
I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is looking for a sweet, light daytime scent. It is sweet, fruity and girly, but not overpowering. This does seem to be a popular scent amongst my friends as well, with many also owning a bottle of this.
It seems to have been discontinued from retail, which is a shame but it is still available online.
We are off on holiday in less than a week and in that short space of time it's my daughter's 4th birthday, one of my sisters 21st, my other sisters 22nd and my friend's daughters 2nd birthday. Phew! So money is stretching at the moment as I try to buy everyone gifts and also last minute things for our holiday! I went out shopping recently and decided to hit Next as it seemed a place I could get everything all under one roof. Kids section for my daughter to pick out a new birthday dress, I needed a new swimming costume, and wanted to get my younger sister some bits in the homeware department as she recently moved in with her fiance to their new place. In amongst this present shopping I ended up wandering past their little beauty section and noticed most of their fragrances were really well priced at around a tenner so I ended up spraying a few testers when this Diamonds Eau De Parfum caught my nose! I was initially perusing to get my middle sister a new perfume, but liked this so much I have kept it for myself!
The bottle is quite cliche, in the shape of a diamond and very unique looking on my chest of drawers. Surprisingly, it doesn't look cheap or tacky but at the same time not the most high end quality bottle as it reminds me of a bit of a chav look for some reason! The bottle is transparent and you can see inside the perfume which is quite a light purple/lavender-ish colour and it looks very girly. I bought the 30ml bottle for £12 in Next which is quite a decent price for a perfume these days if you ask me!
The scent of the perfume is described on the box as "An opulent white floral fragrance entwined with fresh fruit nectars and crystalline musks". Eh? In my opinion the scent is quite unique to all my other perfumes, and whilst it is predominantly musky, it is very light with it and really sweet almost with a raspberry/blueberry kick. I really can't appreciate any nectars in here but I am no perfume pro by any means. It's very easy to wear and subtley elegant, but definitely a daytime scent, probably not something I'd douse myself in for a night on the tiles.
I really like this perfume as it is a new element to my collection to mix up my scents a bit as I tend to stick with vanilla/coconut scents or something really fruity, so for me this has more of an edge. The smell is quite summery, and this will definitely be getting packed in the suitcase to come with me on my travels. In terms of longevity, this lasts quite well, but the cheapness of the price is noticeable perhaps after 2-3 hours when I can't particularly smell much at all so I shall have to knock off 1 star for this.
Overall, I really like this perfume, and as my first from Next I shall be browsing their range a bit more in future! It's relatively inexpensive, is a really nice scent and only gets 4 stars due to the wear on this not being great. I'd definitely recommend it to girls probably 18-35 who want a nice spruce up perfume, not too heavy, and at an affordably price.
I have a couple of lovely perfumes that I keep for best but I also have a few that I use for work or general day to day wear which are a little bit cheaper. I find that Next have quite a good range of perfumes that comes at a low cost and so after a quick browse, I bought Diamonds by Next.
About the fragrance
The fragrance is described briefly as being floral fragrance which has the aroma of fresh fruit nectars mixed with crystalline musks.
Packaging and Price
The product packaging looks a little cheap and you can tell it's not an expensive product. The bottle has been cut at angels to give the appearance of a diamond to go along with the name. It also has a diamond shaped lid and when you remove it, you can see the silver dispenser underneath. The bottle is see through and you can see the pink coloured liquid inside. The fragrance comes at quite a cheap price which is the main reason that I bought it. I paid £10 for 75ml of the perfume which is a much lower price than the average perfume. It can be bought from the Next store, their online website and also from fragrance websites.
The first thing that I noticed when I sprayed the tester of this one is how much it smells like the Soap & Glory products which I am a massive fan of. It has the same aroma as the Original Pink fragrance. It is deliciously sweet and fruity and it is really refreshing and awakening. Although it's sweet, it doesn't get sickly and I find the fragrance to be really lovely. It smells incredibly summery and it is perfect for holidays or sunny days in the garden. It is suitable for both day and night wear. You do need to spray quite a lot of this perfume in order to get the desired results although quite a lot of the fragrance comes out with each squirt.
The spray is well directed although it doesn't come out as a mist like it should so it does spray in targeted areas instead of a wider area. At first the aroma is quite strong but it settles down quite quickly. The only negative with this fragrance is its staying power. Within an hour of me using the perfume, it's all but disappeared. It doesn't linger on my skin or clothes which is a big shame and means that you need to re-spray the fragrance throughout the day and that's a waste. The fragrance hasn't irritated my skin or caused me to have a rash.
All in all, this is a really summery and feminine perfume. It smells fruity and delicious, and is extremely sweet. If you don't like sweet things then you won't like this and if you like the Soap & Glory Original Pink aroma, then you'll love this. Despite the price, it doesn't smell cheap and it actually has a suprisingly classy edge. It is a lovely aroma, it's just a shame that it doesn't stick around for a bit longer!
I was shopping in next one day and was drawn to this perfume (as I must be honest I am a sucker for perfume in lovely bottles) but I was so surprised when smelling this fragrance. It is a very sweet smelling summer fragrance similar to a Katie Price perfume, now don't go turning your noses up this scent really is beautiful.
If you fancy buying something not too expensive that smells lovely and lasts for hours, then this is definitely for you. It comes in a gorgeous bottle too all for £6.50 for a 30ml bottle. An absolute bargain if you ask me. For those of you on a budget that want to smell gorgeous but don't like the £40 price tag of a designer fragrance, then honestly get yourself down to next to give this a try.....
Don't let the £6.50 price tag put you off, this fragrance really does last on your skin and I have had many compliments when wearing this fragrance - more than some designer fragrances to be honest!
Give it a go and you will be hooked!
This was the other Perfume that I bought when I was using my £10 Next voucher up. I had used a couple of the Next Perfumes but hadn't used this 1 or the other 1 I tried. I like the Perfumes that I tried from there already, so thought that I would like these ones.
This comes in a 30ml bottle, a 100ml bottle and a gift set which consists of the 30ml bottle and a 50ml bottle of Shower Gel and Body Lotion (I think. I've not looked at the set to be honest.) The 30ml bottle cost £6, and the 100ml costs £12. So not a bad price for such a size. Although these scents aren't designer Next are a well known brand.
The bottle of this looks really nice and a lot more expensive than what it costs. It looks like the picture which is a Diamond shape. The glass is sparkling and has lots of little cuts in the glass to make this look like a Diamond. You can see the light pink liquid through the glass and it is really pretty.
So how does this smell? It is a nice scent. It has a nice sparkling scent which smells a bit like Champagne but without the alcohol scent to it, although when you first spray this it does smell a bit alcohol like. Once it dries it settles nice. This also smells like Lillies in a way which although is qutie a heavy scent I think that the sparkling notes through this break it up a bit. I can detect White Musk a bit in here as well. I can't smell any Fruity scents in here but all smells nice.
After spraying this in the morning I can still smell this for a good while afterwards. I don't feel that Next Perfumes last all that long usually but I find that this lasts a bit longer than other Next scents. Then again due to the price of thesee Perfumes then I don't mind to reapply this.
This is 1 of my favourite scents from Next and I can see myself buying this again. I think this would make a nice Present for someone.
I have always been a fan of Next's wide range of perfumes, as they are at such reasonable prices for good quality fragrances. My latest edition is their Diamonds Eau de Parfum. I had heard many good things about it, and when browsing through one of their stores I just had to pick it up.
You get a 100ml bottle, although I am sure it is available in gift sets where you get body lotions and such with it, but I just opted for the perfume as I knew this was all I would probably be using. The packaging itself has now changed compared to in the image, and it comes in a rather awkward, hexagonal shape with the bottle just holding in place in the centre. The bottle itself is beautiful, and as shown in the image a gorgeous shade of purple with an edgy and modern design to it.
I had a spray of it in the store using their tester just to get a feel of the scent and see if it was for me, and I have to admit that I was extremely shocked. It smelt of such a high quality that you could purchase it in a fragrance store for at least double the price. Next describe the scent as "an opulent white floral fragrance entwined with fresh fruit nectars and crystalline musks". Upon reading this I am a little shocked as it is not usually the typical scent I would go for. I look out for vanilla or fruits typically, and at all costs will usually avoid musk. However, the description of the scent really does do it no justice at all. It is a very light, yet noticeable scent, and is also very feminine. In fact, the reason I found out about this fragrance was because a friend of mine was wearing it and I thought she smelt lovely, so inquired as to what it was.
The fragrance is noticeable and other people around you can also smell it which is always a plus for me, however it is not too overpowering or sweet that it gets in the way. Just an overall complimentary scent for you to wear and leave you feeling gorgeous and feminine. It retails at only £12 which is exceptional for 100ml worth of product, as many premium fragrances I tend to buy in a 30ml bottle. Because of this, the fragrance will last you a long time so you really do get your moneys worth with this, and I would be happy to repurchase again and again.
Although being a light and fresh scent, the smell does linger around for a good few hours, however it does need respraying a couple of times throughout the day, but this is expected with a cheaper fragrance so I was happy to do this.
You really do get value for money when it comes to the Diamonds Eau de Parfum from Next, as it is a high quality fragrance in a gorgeous bottle and the scent is absolutely delicious. You get every pennies worth with this fragrance and I would recommend that you go in store and have a whiff of it to see if you like it, because believe me you won't regret this purchase! Thanks for reading.
For Christmas I was given a bottle of Next Diamonds perfume in a gift set from my Auntie. I had used a Next fragrance in the past (courtesy of the same Auntie) and liked it, but still I don't think this is a fragrance I would have chosen for myself. Next is a shop I might go to for clothes or homeware, but at the end of the day they are a high street chain and don't specialise in perfumery, so I probably would have gone to a more well-known brand had I been wanting to buy myself a new fragrance.
When it comes to perfume I do like nice bottles, and love having my best fragrances out and displayed on my dressing table. Some bottles are so beautiful they could almost be ornaments! This bottle is faceted to look like a diamond, and the baby pink colour of the fragrance shows through the clear glass. I actually quite like the bottle, although I feel that it is probably aimed at the younger woman, as it's not hugely sophisticated, instead being pretty and girly.
The fragrance is described as 'An opulent white floral fragrance entwined with fresh fruit nectars and crystalline musks.' I'm not sure it would have appealed to me given just that description, but I have to admit I was quite surprised as the fragrance is really beautiful. I am not sure of the exact notes of this perfume, but I will try my best to describe it...
When first sprayed onto the skin, there is a very strong floral scent, which to me smells a lot like lily. This is contrasted with a fruity kick, which I think could possibly be peach or lemon. The fragrances combine to be extremely feminine and very light, and although when very first sprayed there is a tiny hint of alcohol fragrance, this disappears very quickly.
Once the perfume has settled on the skin, the scent stays floral, but it develops into a quite fresh, green floral scent. Again it stays quite light and never seems strong or overpowering, despite smelling slightly deeper at this point than it does when first sprayed.
The longer it's on the skin, the muskier the scent seems to become, however it never loses that hint of floral about it, which retains its femininity right until the scent wears off.
The staying power of this perfume is not particularly great. I'd say it only lasts around 3-4 hours before it needs to be topped up which is a bit of a shame really, although unfortunately I find a lot of fragrances are like this.
This is, in my opinion, a fragrance which is much better suited to daytime wear than night time. It is very light and fresh and for evenings I would prefer something a little deeper and a bit more sophisticated. I think this is probably also better suited to spring/summer time as in the colder months I tend to prefer something a bit stronger with a bit of spice and a tad more depth to it than this one.
Although fragrance is quite a personal thing I would say the age range for this one is probably late teens to late twenties. I'm 26 and am happy to wear it, and I have younger sisters who I imagine would like this too. My mother however, is in her 50's and I don't imagine this is something her or her friends in the same age group would wear as it's perhaps a little too sweet and girly for the more mature lady.
At present this fragrance is available in a 100ml bottle from Next for £12. 100ml must be huge considering I have the 30ml and that's a decent size. Should you want a smaller bottle you can also buy the gift set which contains a 30ml bottle of the fragrance as well as 50ml each of matching body wash, bath foam, body scrub and body lotion, again costing just £12.
Overall, I do really like this as a daytime fragrance, and it is one I wear quite often for work or if going out shopping. If you get a chance to try this I would recommend doing so, as it's good value for money and a surprisingly lovely scent.
Well I hit the big 35 a few weeks ago and the only good thing that came from it was some lovely presents from my family and friends.
Amongst the presents were some lovely gift sets and this - NEXT 'Diamonds' was one of them.
Though this collection contains 5 items in total (Eau De Parfum, Body Wash, Shimmer Lotion, Body Scrub and Bath Foam) it is just the Eau De Parfum I am reviewing on this occasion..
The size of the fragrance that comes included in the gift set is a 30ml, but this is also available to buy singular in a larger sized 100ml at a very reasonably priced £12. (The design is identical for both sized bottles).
The bottle itself deserves a mention as the fragrance comes housed in a transparent diamond shape which is made of quite sturdy glass. It is upright standing and has a larger bottom halve before tapering in towards the top, giving the overall impression of being stubby but because of the diamond shaping the bottle is very aesthetically pleasing.
Because of the transparency of the glass you can clearly see the Parfum itself swishing about in the bottle, which is a warm looking rosy pink and looks very feminine.
Frustratingly, there seems to be little information given regarding the 'ingredients' used to make up the scent, though this seems to be common when looking for similar Next fragrances. The only information I can find is from the official website which declares Diamonds to be an "....opulent white floral fragrance entwined with fresh fruit nectars and crystalline musks.." which I must say does sound very enticing, but is it worth wearing?
I do love NEXT's line of fragrances as the majority smell beautiful and far more expensive than they actually are. The average price of the largest sized 100ml's all seem to be around the £12 mark which is very good value and economical in today's climate. The packaging is attractive, which again gives the appearance of luxury and not one of cheap value, making it look the part when placed on your dressing table.
The parfum is quite strong when it's first sprayed as it's not as 'watered down' as an eau de toilette but this stands the fragrance in good stead in the terms of staying power. On first spraying this pretty parfum I can tell there is musk involved as it stands out first for me, but as I am a fan of musk based fragrances this is not a problem. The initial blast of the overpowering floral and fruity notes does linger for a good 10 minutes before it starts to settle and fade, but when it does it changes the overall fragrance totally.
I found that once it does start to fade the musk dominates quite strongly and the floral opening notes give it a retro '1980's white musk' vibe but with an added fruity twist from the nectar.
I actually really like this far more than I thought, and the more I wear it the more accustomed to it I'm becoming. It's hard to explain but it's light and airy, yet strong and heady with it which I'm sorry sounds very contradictory I know.
It is a very pretty floral/musk scent with a fruity punch to it and I have found it perfect for wearing during the daytime as it seems to suit my mood more then. It has the strength to be worn on an evening so is quite versatile, and once applied to my skin it is very noticeable for up to 5 hours without the need to reapply making it in my eyes extremely good value.
Another little gem from NEXT..
Since I was about 14 years old, I've had a bit of an addiction to perfumes and on a rubbish day, just the scent of new fragrance is enough to pick me up. I've must have had about 20 different perfumes since this addiction started and dread to think how much I've spent on smelling nice. Being a student now, however, these sort of luxuries have to take a bit of a backseat and about a month ago, after finishing my last bottle of my DKNY be delicious perfume I headed into town, determined to find a nice perfume that wasnt too expensive.
The perfume section caught my eye when browsing for clothes in Next and I was surprised to see that they had quite a few different scents as I've never really associated Next with perfume before. After smelling a few I came across 'Diamonds' which had quite a distinct smell and was quite light, something I look for in perfumes as I don't like scents that are too heavy. Looking at the price I got another suprise, the smallest, 30ml bottle was only £6, while the 100ml fragrance was just £12. At that price how ould I go wrong? I chose the smallest bottle and skipped out of the shop feeling quite smug at my bargain and looking forward to wearing it.
The perfume definitely didn't disappoint! I wore it the next day and found that the light florally smell got even nicer after wearing it for an hour or so. Lots of people complimented me on the smell and couldn't believe it when I said that it was a bargain from next! The smell was really familiar and I couldn't work out why until I realised that it was quite similar to Katie Price's stunning perfume, of which I'm afraid to say I'm a fan of! The only bad thing about the smell was that it wore off quite quickly and I had to reapply it a few times during the day but what can you expect for such a cheap price? For this reason, I've nearly ran out as I've had to use quite a lot, however I don't mind as It will only cost me £6 for another bottle.
Another thing that I really like about this perfume is the bottle! I like standing all my perfumes on my dressing table, even when they are empty and this bottle is a lovely girly pink colour and hexagonal in shape, supposedly to resemble a diamond. It has a easy to use pump spray on the top to let you dispense just the right amount of perfume and comes packaged in a transparent hexagonal tube which makes it ideal for a gift.
I would definitely recommend this perfume if you like light florally scents, or perhaps want a light fragrance for daytime. Definitely a Diamond of a find!
Next Diamonds Perfume
**WHAT IS IT**
This perfume claims to be an opulent white floral fragrance entwined with fresh fruit nectars and crystalline musk's.
When using this perfume make sure not to spray it near your face or eyes. Make sure it doesn't go onto broken, sore or irritated skin as it could make it sorer and worse. If it does happen make sure to rinse it off with warm water. If irritation occurs then make sure to stop using the product.
Alocohol Denat, Parfum, Aqua, Diisopropyl Adipate, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Limonene, Benzyl Salicylate, Hexyl Cinnamal, Benzyl Alcohol, Citronellol, Alpha Isomethyl Ionone, Geraniol, Cinnamyl Alcohol, Eugenol, Amyl Cinnamol, Cl 17200, Cl 42090
This may be useful if you are allergic to any of the ingredients that are in the perfume.
I have sensitive skin and this perfume does not irritate it at all however everybody is different.
This perfume comes in a hexagonal shaped plastic container in which you can see the bottle of perfume inside. At the top and bottom of the box there is silver cardboard that is iridescent so you can see multicolour when the light shines on it. The box has Next Diamonds on the front in pink writing.
The bottle itself has the same hexagonal shape (like the shape of a diamond) and is clear. You can see the pink perfume that is inside. The pump that you press to get the perfume out is shiny silver in colour which you can see through the lid. The lid is clear and also in the shape of a small diamond. It is a rather fancy bottle that is something different. I like the design of the bottle. When storing this perfume make sure to keep it out of direct sunlight.
I love the smell of this perfume as it is a light perfume so its great for everyday use. It has a nice floral smell that has a tinge of musk to it. It however is mostly a light floral smell. I like this perfume as it isn't overpowering and you can't smell the perfume after you have left the room. I hate when perfume is so strong it lingers for ages after.
This perfume is excellent value for money. It cost me £6 for 30mls and it lasts me for ages even though I am using it almost every day. I love the smell and like the way it isn't too strong.
I take migraines if a perfume is too strong and this one doesn't give me a headache at all. I would use this perfume for special occasion as well as everyday use.
I would definately buy this perfume again as I love it.
I have to say when it comes to perfumes I am no specialist, in my whole life I have never bought myself a bottle of perfume, any I have had has all been bought for me by my friends and family. This is mainly because I have no clue what kinds of smells I like in a perfume, but happily everyone else seems to like buying it for me and they seem to get it right! So the thought is I should find out the scents in them and work out a common smell... Now something for me to do later....
~*~ Where Can I Find It? ~*~
Well the name somewhat gives it away, it is available from the high street and online retailer Next, if you are looking for it in the store, you might have trouble in a smaller store. Unless it is christmas or maybe even valentines day, as the smaller stores do not stock as much of the fragrance and beauty section. So you might find yourself travelling to another larger store near you, or even buying it online. If you are lucky enough to have it in a smaller store at a special occasion you will normally find it lurking around on top of stands in amongst the clothes - trying to catch your eye as a little present for a friend!
~*~ The Packaging ~*~
Given this perfume is not especially posh or expensive, it comes fairly well presented, admittedly no-one will be fooled that it is a fancy perfume. The main reason for that is that the bottle comes sandwiched between two peices of cardboard, not perhaps the most upmarket of packaging making it look quite cheap, especially compared to a designer perfume. The plastic outside packaging is a bit dangerous at times, if you are not careful and try to put in the odd shaped tabs to do the packaging up it is likely you will stab yourself!
The bottle itself, is around 5 inches tall and about 3 inches wide, but it is quite plain really, it is an octagonal shaped bottle that is tapered up to the neck. The neck which has a smaller, similar shaped to the bottle, lid. The glass of the bottle is fairly thick especially on the bottom, so just in case you accidentally drop it, you might get away with not breaking it and having perfume all over the floor. The only downside to this is that the bottle is a little heavier than normal, especially if you are intending to carry it around in your handbag.
~*~ The Perfume ~*~
The perfume when sprayed on is very light and thankfully not oily as I have found with some of the perfumes I have had in the past. As there is nothing worse than putting on your perfume and ending up with oily skin, especially on your neck because it makes you all shiny! Once it is on your skin it is absorbed faily quickly so you need not worry about it transferring onto your clothes or anything else close to your skin!
When first applied the scent of this perfume is quite strong, the scent is extremely potend, with an incrediably floral scent. You wouldn't be wanting to spray this in a room with lots of other people, because they would be carrying that smell in their nostrils for a long time! The strong smell only really lasts around ten or fifteen minutes for me, as it soaks into the skin at an average rate really, it gives you a chance to get a whiff of the full scent before it is absorbed for the day. Once it has sufficiently soaked in the strong scent gives way to a nice warm floral smell that could be likened to a candle.. It is a genuinely nice smell!
This overall floral scent lasts around two or three hours as a more noticable smell, it then drops off to a smell you only notice if you are close to another person. By the end of the day the smell is pretty much gone, if not totally gone, but that totally depends on your daily activities... If you are thinking of using this perfume for an evening, and expect it to last the evening you are going to need to bathe in the stuff because it will not last long enough to make an impact. For a good evening perfume, you are better off paying a little bit extra and not having to bath in the stuff to get a good even smell all night!
The bottle of perfume itself will last a good 4/5 months depending on how liberal you are with your spraying.. I have the 30ml bottle and have used it sparingly since christmas but I am now almost out.. Just in time for my anniversary, which perfume to ask for this time!
~*~ How Much? ~*~
This perfume is available from the next website, and in selected stores at £12 for a 100ml bottle which is a very reasonable price...
There are also smaller bottles available during the seasons at 30ml - which is the one I was given at christmas but I am unsure of the price!
Next is one of the most popular leading fashion retailers in many countries now and has had a big influence on the fashion industry.
Since opening their doors in 1982 and releasing their catalogue in 1988 they've sold womens wear, mens and childrens wear, homeware, jewellery and perfume.
This particular Eau De Parfum 'Diamonds' is a fresh happy fragrance with a scent described by Next as 'an opulent white floral fragrance entwined with fresh fruit nectars and crystalline musks'. I can definately smell the musk and flowers in it but not so much fruits, although perfumes do tend to smell differently on different people. It's a very sweet refreshing day scent which could be smelt as overpowering at first but then soon dies down a bit.
You need to spray a few squirts on you as the smell doesn't last for that long, maybe half the day on your skin and most of the day on your clothes.
The 100ml size retails for £12, 30ml at £6 and the gift set containing 30ml parfum, 100ml body wash and 100ml shimmer body lotion retails for £10.
I think this is a great price, especially for such a big bottle. Designer fragrances for that size cost around £40 if you're lucky.
The bottle is shaped as a diamond, hence the name. It's transparent glass showing the pinky purple perfume inside with a diamond lid looks very classy and expensive. It comes in a sterdy plastic box too which is quite attractive.
I'm only a quarter of the way through my bottle at the moment but when it's all gone i will for sure be buying a new bottle, and can afford to get a 100ml too at £12, Bargain :-)
