Advantages: lovely perfume - not as expensive as some

Disadvantages: no more duty free

Thanks so much to many friends and family who, over the years have given me luxury perfumes such as Dior & Chanel as very welcome gifts.

A quick spray of a gorgeous perfume really cheers me up & makes me feel (!) rich.

My favourite on is Nina Ricci's 'l'air du temps' & at around £35.00 per 50ml it not as expensive as some of the other top eau de parfumes.

This is also available in eau de toilette spray for around £13 for 30ml (probably cheaper at qualitysave etc).

The brand is distinctive because of the famous yellow box & the dove logo which is embossed on the glass bottle itself. The top is actually a dove made from glass which is really nice.

The perfume itself has a lovely fragrance which has top notes of gardenia & bergamot with rose, jasmine, orris, ylang-ylang.

The base is sandalwood & musk.

Despite the above, which sounds like it is a strong perfume, it is actually quite light, fresh & delicate.

The smell lasts a long time - you only need a little - so the bottle lasts ages. I'm still using the bottle that was given to me 2 years ago despite using it 2 or 3 times a week.

It is very distinctive & was, in fact, designed to be a 'memorable fragrance' .

It was first launched in 1948 & apparently '1 bottle is sold worldwide every second' - can't see that being true for much longer if things don't improve in the worldwide economy though?!

I think this would be appealing to many ages so would be a great gift for birthdays & Christmas.

I also think this is a good perfume for day or evening wear as it is not too strong but is very distinctive - a real 'signature perfume'.

This perfume reminds me so much of my late mother - it was always on our 'duty-free' list & when I have a spray it always reminds me of her.

Summary: delicate, fresh & distinctive

This perfume smells great on other people, but for some reason smells like fresh horse manure on me lol.
