Nina Ricci L'Eau 50ml £35.50 The perfume shop A nice Sunday afternoon with my friend and we decide on a trip to Harrods. I've lived in London for a year and I've never been, that needed to be changed. It didn't take us very long to reach the perfume section, my last perfume recently ran out so I needed a new one. I suspected the prices in Harrods to be expensive but was worth a look to see if any caught my attention. I saw a cute little bottle in the shape of an apple it was a beautiful shade of pale pink with a silver top. I asked the very well presented sales advisor if I could have a sample on a card. The scent blew me away it was beautiful. Quite strong and lingered in the air. I walked away from the stand, still holding the hard with the beautiful scent on. From recent experience I know it takes a while for the scent to settle on the card and sometimes the scent can change after a while. After walking around Harrods we went to oxford street I was still thinking about that little apple shaped bottle so I headed to the perfume shop and they had it in 3 different sizes. I bought the middle sized bottle - 50ml for £35.50 which is quite a good price for such a beautiful bottle with a magical scent. Later got home to find I had a £5.00 off voucher but we'll try and forget that little detail. The smell The scent is beautiful and magical, it reminds me strongly of Disney, especially of Snow White. It's a very fruity scent with a hint of floral ness. I love it so much and would strongly recommend it to anyone. This may sound odd but the perfume really puts me in a cheerful mood, a great start to any day which then proves to be a positive confident day. I have had a couple of people compliment me on the perfume which is always nice and a bonus seeing as I like it so much. Definitely a perfume I will continue to buy.
My partner bought Nina Ricci Nina L'Eau for my birthday recently. ~ Price and availability ~ This fragrance is available in 30ml, 50ml and 80ml bottles. The 30ml bottle is available from Boots for £26.00. The 50ml bottle is available from Boots for £35.50. It is also available from allbeauty.com for £28.45. The 80ml bottle is available from allbeauty.com for £36.25 (RRP £48.00). Boots do not stock the 80ml bottle. ~ Bottle ~ The bottle is made from light pink frosted glass and it is apple shaped. There are three silver, metal leaves that are attached to the neck of the bottle. 'Nina Ricci' is imprinted onto one of the leaves. The lid of the fragrance is spherical and also silver and it serves as the stalk of the apple. I think the bottle is very pretty. ~ Scent ~ I love this fragrance. It does remind me of the original Nina by Nina Ricci fragrance, but it is definitely different. I actually prefer this one to the original. The top notes are apple, grapefruit, mandarin and neroli. The heart notes are watery accords, gardenia and cherry. The base note is sensual musk. When it is first sprayed it is sparkling, vibrant and fresh. As it calms down on my skin it has a watery, fruity scent that reminds me of watermelon. I can detect the apple and cherry in this scent. It is very fruity and uplifting. Some of the Nina Ricci fragrances in these apple shaped bottles are too citrusy, but this one is really fruity and much more enjoyable. The fragrance is light and delicate and it has a sweetness to it. I don't think anyone would find it offensive. It doesn't have any sharp or harsh notes. As the fragrance dries down it has a clean, papery scent, which I really like. The fragrance is reasonably long lasting. It lasts on my skin for around 5 hours before wearing off, which is quite impressive as it is a light and fruity fragrance, which I usually find don't last as long. I find that I notice this fragrance on myself quite a lot during the day as well. I think this is probably aimed towards younger women as it is very light, fresh and fruity and the bottle is quite youthful and fun. I think it is definitely a day time scent. It is a bit light and fresh for night time wear. I would definitely recommend this fragrance and I would definitely buy it again if I was to run out. It is very reasonably priced, it smells lovely and it lasts well.
I've been enjoying the Boots Advent Calendar this month, very much and this edt was one of the items included early on, around day three I think. I've kept returning to the small sample so that means I must like it! The brand I had heard of Nina Ricci before, I think I've even seen some make up by this brand in TK Maxx but I don't think I have ever had a fragrance by NR. Therefore I probably wouldn't have chosen to sample this in a perfume shop faced with all the other choices so it's nice to be surprised sometimes, that's why I like the advent and beauty boxes I subscribe to. The fragrance The fragrance when first sprayed is nice and light and definitely a 'daytime' wear perfume. It has floral and fruity tones and is very feminine. It has a clean linen smell to it too which is nice. What's in it? Base note: Musk (I'm not getting this at all). Heart notes: gardenia, cherry and Watery accords. Top notes: apple, grapefruit, mandarin and neroli. Price A quick search tells me a 30ml edt spray is £21.95 at Fragrance Direct which to me is a mid range price: not cheap but not ridiculously expensive either. I also note it comes in a really funky pink frosted glass bottle with silver lid and decorations around the collar which is quite modern with a traditional dressing table cutesy look to it. My thoughts This fragrance lasts OK, in that I can still pick up the waft of it late morning but as the afternoon progresses I feel it's time for top up. I think this would suit both young and older ladies so it's a fairly safe buy if you're looking for a present. I prefer something a little stronger smelling for nights out but that's my preference. Would I buy it? Probably not. It's not made that big an impression on me, whilst I like it, I can live without it. I do like the bottle though! Final thoughts I think this is a nice fragrance, in a pretty bottle. It's not too much in the power of the scent yet it lasts a few hours. I think most girls of most ages would be happy with this. Price wise it's fair and it has a clean and fresh appeal to it.
I got a sample recently of the perfume L'Eau by Nina Ricci, it wasn't one I had heard much about until I got the sample. I have used a Nina Ricci scent before but it wouldn't normally be my first choice of brand. I wanted to find out more about it and so I looked it up, it has literally just been launched this year so hasn't been out long at all which is why I got it as a sample. The impression I got from looking at it was that it looked like a really feminine fragrance which is usually what I like, I wanted something that was good for daily wear and thought by trying this, if I liked it then I'd eventually buy the full size if it was right for me. PACKAGING This fragrance comes in a round bottle in the shape of an apple, it has a glass body and silver elements on the leaves and a glass ball lid. You can see how much perfume is left inside the bottle and it has a light pink colour to it which is pretty and does stand out when looking. It comes in a number of different sizes and is easy to hold being round. This is described as being a fresher version of Nina and it is a new modern princess with attitude so as well as looking pretty it gives of an edgy feel to it. I think the bottle is really nice and it does look girly but whether I'd pick it up first over other bottles designs, I probably wouldn't. NINA L'EAU So, to start with from spraying this I would say I had to spray it a couple of times to notice it on and it wasn't too heavy which I liked about it, the main scent I got from this was that it was floral and also fresh at the same time which created a nice combination. It comes across to me as being a daytime scent as it is quite light, it is also a nice feminine scent and is very easy to wear. It is hard to go into a lot of depth with the scent as really floral is what comes across the most upon spraying. I also slightly pick up on the freshness as having the faintness of fruity notes but it is quite hard to work it out. Upon closer look and breaking down the layers that create this scent, it shows that the base notes are musk which I couldn't really get from it. The heart notes are watery accord, gardenia and cherry which is where I could pick up on that faint note of fruit. Lastly, the top notes are of apple, grapefruit, mandarin and neroli which is overall what I picked up on from the scent. It seems easier to pick up fruit more now that I have read this and I do feel it smells a lot clearer. It works well and compliments each other, the fruit with the fresh floral notes and even after wearing for a few hours, it still seems floral to me. I have been using this fragrance quite a lot in daytime wear to work, it fades only slightly and is still apparent when I have it on for a few hours. I don't ever find myself having to reapply this which is good and it is so easy to wear in the day without it being overpowering, just really fresh and light. I'd say it was a younger scent but that's not to say an older woman wouldn't like this either. It just comes across to me as being for that age group but it is a versatile scent, I probably wouldn't wear it in the evening as personally, I like something a little bit heavier and more musky for the evening, that really stands out. This fragrance is great to buy someone looking for an every day kind of scent, I still don't know however if I would buy it after this sample. It is a nice scent but to me it doesn't really offer me anything extra special or exciting that other scents do. The overall look of it is nice but I think for me it just isn't what I want and it doesn't tick all of the boxes for what I am looking for in a scent at the moment. The good thing about this perfume also is that it isn't really that expensive compared to other brands and in that sense you could use a lot more of it. You are not needing to spray as much while wearing this so it does last. COST To buy this The Perfume Shop are selling the 30ml for £24.50, the 50ml is £34.50 and the 80ml is £47.50 so all good for the size and they are all eau de toilette.
