I love Nina Ricci fragrances and I recently added Nina L'Elixir to my collection. ~ Packaging ~ It comes in a lovely apple shaped bottle made from glass. The bottom of the bottle is clear, but the top of the bottle is an opaque metallic red colour, which fades gradually to the clear glass at the bottom of the bottle. The bottle has three silver, metal leaves around the neck of the bottle, one of which has 'Nina Ricci' imprinted into then the stalk of the apple is its spherical silver lid. ~ Price and availability ~ This eau de parfum is available in 30ml, 50ml and 80ml bottles. The 30ml bottle is available from allbeauty.com for £19.95 (RRP £31.00). The 50ml bottle is available from allbeauty.com for £21.75 (RRP £40.85). The 80ml bottle is available from allbeauty.com for £27.65 (RRP £55.15). I'm not sure where the website get their RRPs from as they seem a little random. ~ Scent ~ The scent is very strong. It has quite a dark, rich scent. The top notes in this fragrance are red fruit and jasmine. The heart note is bright green Caipirinha lime. The base note is musk. I can detect the lime, which I find fresh and citrusy. The vibrant and sparkling red fruit is very uplifting, but the perfume is quite heavy with slightly harsher undertones. I find the fragrance completely inoffensive, but it is strong and may not be to everyone's tastes. I think it is a rich, mature scent. I think it would suit more mature women. I think it may be a bit heavy for a teenager to wear. It is a fragrance that I would choose for night time wear rather than through the day. I find it a bit heavy for day time wear. It has a similar scent to the original Nina by Nina Ricci, but from all of the Nina Ricci fragrances in the apple shaped bottles that I have tried this is probably my favourite. I've found a few of them too citrusy, rather than juicy and fruity, but this one is fruity enough for me. I have also been impressed with the staying power of this perfume. It lasts on my skin for around 8 hours before it has faded away, which I am pleased with and it also has good projection. I notice this fragrance on myself a lot when I am wearing it. It was first released in 2010 and is still on sale today unlike so many of the other Nina Ricci scents that were released in these apple shaped bottles (there has been 12 in total now). I would buy this again if my bottle was to run out and I would recommend it more than the original.
I have liked Nina Ricci perfumes since I smelled the original a few years ago. Nina L'Elixir was launched in 2010 and I received my bottle for Christmas. The perfume is very similar to all the Nine Ricci perfumes but it has a more grown up feel than the sparkly apple scents that she is so well known for. Nina L'Elixir is suitable for all women but is quite heavy as the middle notes develop so if you prefer a lighter perfume this one might not be one you enjoy as much as other fruit based fragrances. The perfume doesn't last for very long and this is the thing that stops me wearing it very often, I have to reapply after about four hours and because I have the 80ml version that comes in a very bulky bottle it means I can't easily carry it around in my handbag. When I first spray it L'Elixir has got quite a weak scent but once the top notes start to change it gets stronger before fading away a few minutes after the base notes come through. I would not wear it for a night out because of the short time it lasts but it's a nice fragrance for visiting a restaurant or to wear during the day. TOP NOTES Amalfi Lemon, Jasmine, Red Fruits, Apple I cannot smell lemon in Nina L'Elixir at all but there is a citrus period mixed in with the red fruits and apple so that must be in, the apple is crisp but this perfume lacks the freshness of other Nina Ricci apple based perfumes. There is a hint of jasmine but it's very weak and doesn't last long enough in the scent for it to be able to work with the other notes. MIDDLE NOTES Lime Caipirinha, Red Berries There's lime in the perfume but I think this comes through with the top notes instead of during the middle. The main fragrance at the heart of the Nina L'Elixir is the red berries but they have been mixed with an unidentifiable floral fragrance that bursts out of nowhere and changes the perfume. The middle notes are very heavy and last for the longest period of times out of all the perfume changes. BASE NOTES Cotton Musk The end of Nina L'Elixir is very musky and reminds me of the White Musk perfume I used to use from The Body Shop, it's not very strong and doesn't last for long but while it is there it gives the perfume a very sexy fragrance and makes it good for a romantic meal or a date night. 4 Dooyoo Stars.
This just had to be bought as I love the design of the bottle and I collect perfume bottles, it is a nice design with an elegant girlie look and I love the deep red colour of the bottle as it looks warm and inviting and is topped off with a silver lid and leaves of like an apple, I love it. As for the parfum well I love that too. It is a nice light scent not too over powering and quite subtle to wear during the day and for casual occassions, it has a fresh fruity scent of limes, red berries and lemons but mostly you can smell the citrus fruits and the jasmine which I like a lot as jasmine is one of my favourite scents in a perfume. The tones of fruit are red berries, lemon and lime as well as amber, musk and jasmine, the amber gives it a nice undertone which mixed with the musk combines to make a loverly scent that I'm quite impressed with. Musk is used in most perfumes to give a lasting scent and if it is combined with the right flowers or fruits you get a nice lasting perfume that others will notice and although this isn't really strong and over powering, you do get little wafts of it during the day and others have commented on the scent when I've been wearing it. It makes a perfect gift for friend and the ladies in your family and life as it can be bought for around £25 online or a little more expensive up to £34 from places like John Lewis, but having said that the higher price still isn't that much to pay for a good scent that others will appreciate as a present. You just need a little spray on each wrist and behind the ears to give you a nice fresh scent, I will be buying this one again as it is to my taste and affordable too.
I bought my perfume on the ferry as a treat for myself after my holiday last year. I must have smelt every fragrance on the boat and this one was the one that really grabbed my attention. It cost me around £30 but you can probably get it cheaper online. The packaging is a white box with a red apple drawn on. It has a nice feel to it and adds to the excitement of owning a new fragrance. The bottle is an apple shape, made of glass fading from a crimson red colour to white. The lid is a silver ball and the top of the bottle has decorative silver apple 'leaves'. It is absolutely wonderful, it looks great in my room and just pulling the bottle out of my bag makes me smile and feel more beautiful! The design of the bottle is spot on. The fragrance itself is sophisticated but not too mature either. I would say it would suit someone in their mid twenties to early thirties. It's light and refreshing it does not overpower the senses in the slightest. It's mildly fruity without being too girly. It is has a sweet smell without being sickly. While I do like the scent, and adore the bottle, I personally prefer a perfume with a little more....staying power. My boyfriend moaned at me for never wearing my perfume when I do, it just fades! I would buy again but only for evening meals out. It really is a lovely smell and a lovely bottle and if it weren't for the fact it fades too fast for my liking, it would get a five. So if that doesn't bother you then I would recommend it. It is definitely good value for money.
I have tried a number of different fragrances over the years but one of my favourites is this one by Nina Ricci. It has all the classic notes of a sophisticated scent but it is really floral and fresh. ==Price and availability== I bought this perfume in the 30ml bottle size which is the smallest and paid £28.00. You can buy it from Cheapsmells.com for less than £25 pounds. ==Description== I bought a bottle of the EDP but all the bottles are the same it is the concentration of liquid inside that varies. The bottle is lovely, very girlie and fun. It has a heart shaped apple bottle with a pull off lid. The bottle looks great on my dresser and adds a little bit of fun withe the deep red colour. I like interesting perfume bottle designs and although you should not judge a book by it's cover, I do think that it says something about the perfume. The actual perfume is soft and casual. It smells fresh, crisp and clean. It reminds me of summer as the scent envelopes around me. It is fruity but without being too sweet and smells feminine but not girlie. It is quite a sophisticated scent that is designed for the young woman of today. The scent includes notes of lemon and lime. This give the fragrance the clean cut feeling. I love soft citrusy notes like this. Other notes include apple and jasmine. The fresh scent has the warmth of cedarwood and cotton musk as its undertones. This adds depth to the perfume. Despite the bottle being apple shaped and the all the marketing looking like apples, this is something I do not get out of the fragrance. It does not smell very apply but I certainly get the citrus notes. I guess maybe an apple is easier to market than a lemon. ==My experiences== This perfume is one that is easy to like as it is so soft and fresh. My boyfriend likes this perfume on me and often comments when I wear it. It is the perfect perfume to wear during the day as it is soft and fresh and not overpowering. I find the perfume lasts a longtime and it does not need some reapplication. It smells stronger when you first apply it, but I would hardly describe it as overpowering and it settles down very quickly. You could wear the perfume for a night out as it is delicious but I think that it is more suitable for a day time. If I was to compare the fragrance to another it would be to Dior's Cherie, although I find Dior's just a little bit heavier. I would definitely recommend this perfume, it lasts well and smells great. ==Overall== This perfume smells lovely and I find it has the perfect balance between floral and fruity scents. I hate sweet sickly scents and this certainly is not one of them. I really enjoy wearing this perfume and would contemplate buying it again although I do like to swap and change my perfumes. This perfume was brought out in 2006 and it is still widely stocked in stores and online.
