Advantages: Smells light and floral like, the scent is great for daywear, well priced and lasts well

Disadvantages: The top notes dont come through for me

When it comes to perfume I have a rather large collection of the stuff! I have recently been having a little bit of a clear out and found some bottle that have been pushed to the back of the draw, one of these being a bottle of the Nina Ricci Premier Jour, Eau de Toilette. I recently posted a review on a bottle of Anna Sui perfume that I have been using up and this is the same sort of thing really, I had the perfume brought for me some time ago now and I clearly remember wearing it to work on a regular basis but then a new fragrance came along and I ended up wearing that instead. Well, now I am using the last of the bottle up here are my thoughts on the fragrance.

As I mentioned, the bottle of perfume was the Nina Ricci brand and I have always found this to be one of the slightly lower priced perfumes on the market. The bottle that I have is the 50ml size and as I mentioned above it was given to me as a gift but I have had a little look and the price for this sized bottle is around the £26.00 mark, there is a smaller 30ml bottle and this will cost around the £22.00 mark and then there is the larger 100ml bottle and this retails at around the £36.00 mark. The perfume can be found in high street stores such as Boots, Superdrug, Savers and even Wilkinson's as well as places like Debenhams. It is worth shopping around as I have seen this perfume on some really great low priced offers.

The fragrance was first launched in 2001 and so it has been on the market for some time now, the bottle came in a cardboard box and I was soon to disguard this as I was keen to get a smell of the actual fragrance. There is a breakdown of ingredients on the packaging as well as directions for use. The bottle has quite a stylish design to it, it is made from a frosted glass and is made of 3 tiers all stacked on top of one another. The bottom circles have the perfume in them whilst the top circle is in fact the lid of the bottle and so where you dispense the fragrance from. I was impressed with this look and it looks great on your bathroom shelf. The bottle has the name of the perfume and the Nina Ricci logo on the bottom tier

The thing that I was keen to do was try the fragrance and we are told that this is a floral perfume and that the top note is yellow tangerine, the middle notes are vanilla orchid and gardenia and the bottom notes are musk and sandalwood. I have to say that my first impression was that this was a lovely light fragrance, the floral notes were the first that I smelt and it was so refreshing and delicate, I am not a fan of the heavy fragrances and this is definitely a light one, perfect for day wear.

I have to say that the top note of the tangerine was not that obvious to me and it was the orchid and the gardenia that came through the most. I was really impressed with the lightness of the floral notes and they were not too sweet either. I liked that the scent was also long lasting ,I sprayed it on to go to work of a morning and the scent was still there of an evening which impressed me.

In summary, I am more than happy to recommend this fragrance, it is well priced, refreshing and floral and the scent last well so ideal for daywear.

4 out of 5 from me
