Disadvantages: None at all it's truly beautiful
Occasionally I make really rash decisions and last weekend was one of those times lol. I was in Boots on my pay day and there was a stand there of boxed perfumes heavily reduced. Browsing through them there were brands I had and hadn't heard of but no testers available. Well that's rubbish for me as I like to know what I'm buying as I believe choosing a fragrance to be a serious purchase that says alot about who I am! However I spotted a 50ml bottle of this (usual price £39.99) reduced to £10.00. I had no clue what it was and basically picked it up and was considering taking a risk and buying it when this really rough woman started yelling at me at the top of her lungs and pointing at her daughter who was rifling through her purse. The girl wanted it and hadn't picked it up to purchase and thought her Mum had and this was the last box. Normally I'd hand it back but their manners and dirty looks were amazing and I walked off muttering that it's funny it's in my hands and not yours! I didn't care for their attitudes one bit and forgot all about the fact that I was buying something I had never even sniffed but then once I'd bought it that's when I looked into the perfume cabinets (in Boots) and saw this on display for the higher price. Well I was delighted at such a saving and my perfume still being in a sealed box and everything! Even the sales assistant didn't know why this one bottle was reduced so heftily. I decided I'd sniff it and if I didn't like it sell it on Ebay or something or give it to someone best suited to it that I know or something like that!
The Packaging....
Large square white box. All the writing on it is in dark pink and on the front there is a picture drawn on a pink apple and on that I'm told it's 'Pretty Nina' and under that I'm told it is Eau De Toilette Vaporisateur Spray and my size (50ml-1.7FL OZ) is stated. On the back of the box it simply says 'Parfums Nina Ricci Paris' and ingredients are listed. On the bottom of the box contact details for Nina Ricci are given, the volume content and recycle symbol is shown and finally there is a black bar-code.
The bottle itself is clear, quite thick glass in the shape of an apple. You pull off the rounded silver lid to uncover a matching silver push button sprayer which has to that attached leafs that rest on the top of the bottle and on there Nina Ricci is engraved in small lettering. On the bottom of the bottle on a clear label I am told what it is (again lol), the size and that it's made in France and that's that. It's all beautifully designed and looks fresh, elegant but still young in it's appeal. It's quite a funky, cute, quirky bottle which stands out as different but still remaining to look great quality and elegant.
My Experience....
The first person to smell this was my Mother who I had trouble getting it off. She'd spotted it sat on the sofa and opened it all up while I was telling her the story of why I bought it as I was making us a cuppa! Her words went mmm yum mmmmmm that's pretty mmm, as I tried to grab it off her excitedly to smell it for myself. I said it's funny you call it that cos it is after called 'Pretty Nina'!
Well what can I say it's one of my most fabulously wonderful purchases ever! It's just so gorgeous and for me I just can't see how people could possibly dislike it and it's one I'd happily buy for any woman I know secure and safe in the knowledge it would suit most ladies with no age prejudice!
What is wonderful about this fragrance is how it smells so different on people. I have worn this, so has my younger friend and my Mum nicks it too (she thinks I don't know lol). On all of us it smells very different and on my Mum it smells alot more grown up than on me etc. It just blends with who you are really, it's hard to describe!
Scent wise when first sprayed on it's quite strong. It's a mix of the gourmand edition of the original Nina fragrance but has new notes of raspberry, grapefruit & rose petals added for a more modern and upbeat twist.
It has top notes of grapefruit, Caipirinha lime, middle notes of juicy raspberry, green apple, jasmine and base notes of rose, apple-tree wood, musk, vanilla and caramel.
The above ingredients blend into a clear liquid that you simply spray on where desired. You don't need a lot of it because of it's powerful blend. For me it's a sweet perfume and really to my nostrils smells of raspberry, jasmine, vanilla and caramel with a dusky, musky undertone and the apple and lime just giving some of those fragrances a burst of energy to pop the smells out and zing them. Although it's rich and multi faceted (smells slightly different every time you sniff it) it's still really feminine and floral and remains airy and makes me feel romantic and sensual. It's a warm infusion and really a great perfume for any time of day or night time wear, it's up to you entirely.
This is such an adorable perfume and for something so delicate smelling really is punchy and it lasts on the skin pungent for hours upon hours. People always say how much they love this one and it's a real feel good perfume that suits most nasal passages. I love it and will re-buy it, even with it's usual £39.99 price tag, I wouldn't think twice!
I'm pretty sure this is also available in a 30ml size priced at about £25.00 a bottle. I've only seen this on sale in Boots and online and it is worth investigating online if you fancy it due to the huge discounts on offer!
Recommended from me 100%, it's my new favourite!
