My husband owns the "1 Million Eau De Toilette" aftershave spray from the well-known Paco Rabanne brand, with this review discussing my thoughts about the product.
My husband's bottle of Eau De Toilette is 50ml in size, and was received as part of a gift set containing other items in the 1 Million range. A quick look online tells me that the current price for the 50ml bottle of aftershave is around £40, and it is available from good stockists including Boots.
The packaging is extremely attractive, with the Eau De Toilette spray resembling a small bar of gold. The bottle has an oblong design, though it will stand on its end quite easily. There is a slender, chic appeal to this particular bottle and I do think it looks quite classy.
I find that the scent is not over-bearing or 'heady', and in fact I find that the scent has a sweet, refreshing 'edge' to it that I had not anticipated, and it is this edge that allows the fragrance to feel rather contemporary and modern.
That is not to say that the fragrance feels overly 'young', and whilst my husband is still only in his 30s, I think there is something of a classic 'feel' to be found within this particular scent that would allow it to appeal to a wider age range than some of the other offerings in my husband's collection; many of these other scents feel rather more 'immature' than the Paco Rabanne 1 Million, in terms of their appeal. I do feel that the 1 Million scent is much more suited to a variety of age groups than many other aftershaves that my husband owns.
I like how the 1 Million scent contains a refreshing 'fruity' hint within it, although these notes never take on too much 'body' which would possibly see them becoming 'heady' or overly sweet, but I do think that their addition gives this fragrance a little more versatility in terms of its suitability for a variety of occasions; these notes seem to offer a little 'balance' to the 'heavier' notes within the scent which would possibly feel a little too 'acrid' without their inclusion.
In terms of the scent's longevity, I feel it performs very well; following application in the morning, the scent is still easily detectable on the skin at lunchtime and into the afternoon. The 'fruity' notes in the scent are slightly more faded at this point, but a quick 're-spritz' soon brings the fragrance back to life, if required.
My husband doesn't suffer from sensitive skin issues, and has never encountered any irritation to the skin during the time he has used the Paco Rabanne 1 Million Eau De Toilette, or its co-ordinating products and toiletries.
Taking everything into account, I recommend the Paco Rabanne 1 Million EDT spray as it is extremely versatile, being suited to a variety of occasions.
I have to be honest, I wear this fragrance myself.
I always buy it from the fragrance store; 100mls for £39.99 and pretend it is a gift from someone.
There are 3 reasons why I like wearing mens fragrance more than women's sometimes.
1) they tend to be longer lasting on the skin
2) they are always cheaper (which is SO NOT FAIR)
3) some ladies fragrances can be too sickly sweet or too old fashioned
I never get as many compliments as I do when I am wearing a man's fragrance. It just can be a little embarassing to admit that you're wearing aftershave.
1 million is my favourite men's because it is a little bit spicy but still very refreshing and not at all overpowering. If it had human characteristics it would be sexy and mysterious.
The bottle makes it perfect to carry around in your handbag, not that you need to top up because it is very long lasting on the skin.
Ladies if you don't know what to buy your man, buy this and then steal if for yourselves.
One day I was out shopping and smelt the Paco Rabanne 1 Million for Men and liked it but the shop (a popular high street retailer) was charging a ridiculous amount and I was unsure how much I liked it compared to my older favourite, Paco Rabanne Black XS.
I found it a few weeks later during a flight I was on with work and got some, I am now hooked and it's now my favourite fragrance and has been for a couple of years.
The smell is a modern sexy smell, mixed of Cinnamon, Grapefruit, Mint and Blood Mandarin and spice, it gives a spicy smell but not anything over powering. Its a great one to wear on a night out with friends or family, if your out on the pull then this is sure to grab attention regardless of which gender you want to attract, its one of the most popular ones on the market at the moment and I can smell why. I however do end up wearing it daytimes aswell for work as I really like it.
It comes in a very rich, deluxe golden bottle which makes it feel like its a high quality item with a rich smell, makes any man's bedside table or desk look smart.
I brought this product while I was browsing for some new aftershave / Eau de Toilette.
The lady on the counter showed me the different ones. A lot of them wasn't doing it for me.
She then showed me this certain aftershave. I must admit, It had one of the nicest smell I've ever smelt before. It's quite a hard smell to explain what it actually smells like. I would say it's a sweet but masculine smell, it mixes the two quite well. I have no idea how they actually came up with the smell.
Ok, I went on to purchase this particular Eau de Toilette. The price for a small bottle was around £35 or a 100ml bottle. Luckily, I managed to get around £5 off. Still a bit pricey, but nothing too excessive.
The bottle itself is a gold colour, with a unique shape to it.
After a few months I still had over half the bottle left. I didn't use it everyday, I only used it if I was going out for the night. Which was about twice a week.
A little really does go a long way with this certain aftershave. I only used about two to three sprays and thats all what was needed for it to last the night.
The scent usually lasts around a few hours before it dies down. Be wary not to use too much as the smell is quite distinctive and overwhelming.
A few of my friends said they loved the smell and went onto purchase it themselves.
Around 6 months after I purchased it. It finally ran out.
I think its excellent value for money. The smell is top class and I was surprised I was one of the only people to buy it. I suppose the price puts a lot of people off it.
Overall, It's a must for any male. Just don't overdo it when putting it on. I wouldn't advise using it for just a casual day on the sofa. But if you're planning a night out or even just a few down the local free house, it's great for that.
Thanks for reading my brief review.
