“ Brand: Paul Smith / Type: Fragrance / Concentration: Eau de Toilette / Gender: for women „
When it comes to fragrances I always like to have a small collection of different ones to use for different occasions. Some fragrances I will only wear on special occasions, some just for day time use and some that I prefer to use in specific seasons. This perfume 'Floral' by Paul Smith is one of my favorite perfumes to wear for spring/summer. I was given it as a gift for my birthday and since then have always bought a new bottle around spring time each year.
When I first received the perfume I loved the packaging immediately. The bottle was stored in a white cylinder shaped tin and had the name of the perfume on it in a bright and colorful abstract design. The bottle was also white and quite strangely shaped for a perfume, as shown in the picture above. I thought the packaging was retro looking and personally really loved it.
Onto the most important part of any perfume; the smell, of course. As I said this is a fragrance I like to use in the summer. This is because it contains lots of summary scents. It contains several fruity and floral scents such as ginger, sweet orange, pink grapefruit, water lily, orchid, osmanthus and white Magnolia. Combined with this are base notes of exotic wood essences, tonka bean and amber, creating a gorgeous underlying musk to give the fragrance some subtle strength through the lighter middle and top notes. It is a lovely, light, girly, fresh scent that couldn't be more perfect for summer days and evenings. This scent lasts on me pretty much all day and I rarely find I need to have a re-spray later on in the day.
For a great perfume it is also quite cheap. You can pick a 30ml bottle of this perfume for just £12.99 from Boots. There is a bigger bottle available but I am unsure on how much this is. I would definitely recommend this with the spring months fast approaching. If you prefer stronger, deeper scents this may not be for you.
Its fruity, fresh and floral.
My parents brought this perfume back from their holidays as a present. (don't you love duty free, i must say I was feeling the love!)
However I am very pleasantly surprised not only does this perfume smell beautifully which I personally think it does, and have had numerous compliments from co workers and a very nice man the other day, which may slightly influence my love for this little bottle.
The perfume also lasts all day which is defiantly needed for work and then for a few drinks after I still smell great and fresh. I would advise having this as a day to day perfume as I do have other perfumes for nights out and social events but at around £14 (however on amazon its around £24 so I would advise shopping around)
This perfume unlike some of Paul Smiths other perfume does come in a small box rather than a tin and is not in an as interesting little bottle but does come in a nifty small bottle. its ideal for work and I would advise everyone to add this to their every day essentials.
I got this as a Christmas present and really like the scent. I believe you can buy it from Amazon or Boots, but it is less well known I believe than other perfumes. I do not know why as it is really lovely!
The scent is flowery yet fruity and I would say it would suit all ages. The perfume is good to wear in the day as the scent is quite light and not overpowering. Although it is called floral, if you don't like floral scents I would not let this put you off. The scent is distinctive but has different notes; I would recommend getting a sample first to see if you like it but I am not a fan of strong floral scents and really like this perfume.
I have found that it lasts well throughout the day and as you only need a couple of sprays it lasts for ages. The bottle is also lovely, shaped like a vase with pink at the top and a yellow cap. The box it comes in is also nice and sturdy.
I am planning to buy some more soon or failing that I hope I get some as a present this Christmas!
This Paul Smith Floral for women is a beautiful fragrance with water lily, orange, pink grapefruit and ginger, a blend of magnolia, orchid, osmanthus blossom and base notes of musk, amber and exotic wood essences.
I came across this perfume for the first time on offer in Debenheams for £12 for a 30ml bottle. I bought it as it was an absolute bargain and thought it smelt absolutely beautiful. The fragrance is a light musky floral scent which has a perfect mix of floral notes and musk. I thought this scent would be quiet overpowering but the fragrance experts at Paul Smith have made something magical !!!
This fragrance lasts all day and is always one that receives a lot of compliments. Three of my friends are now absolutely addicted to this fragrance since I wore it on a night out.
This is also one of my partners favourite fragrances for women. It sounds silly but he said he thinks it is one of the most feminine smelling fragrances around at the moment. He also thinks it has a sexy smell to it.
I wear this fragrance much more in the summer months as I think it has a certain summer freshness to it.
This fragrance tends to be on offer online and in stores and I think it is an absolute bargain for a designer name and beautiful scent! The only thing that can be frustrating is that this perfume is often not available in bigger bottles.....just worth stocking up on the 30mls.
Will always be a favourite of mine! Try it you won't be dissapointed.
I received Paul Smith Floral as a gift a while ago as I love Paul Smith for women and my friend thought I might like to try this one as well. It comes in a white bottle with an interesting shape.
The scent itself is, as the name suggests, floral but with a bit more of an unusual kick to it than most other floral smelling perfumes. This definitely makes it stand out from other floral perfumes as it seems to have a bit more depth to the fragrance and so seems of slightly higher quality. It is quite a strong fragrance but not too overpowering and is probably more of a daytime perfume than evening because of its subtle, sweet aroma. Paul Smith Floral has a refreshing and uplifting smell that is perfect for wearing to work or out and about.
I still slightly prefer Paul Smith for women to Paul Smith Floral but that is only down to personal preference and in no way indicates a problem with this perfume at all.
Overall, it is a lovely, fresh perfume that I would happily recommend if you are looking for a interesting but classy scent for throughout the day.
I'm not much of a perfume user. I have dust allergies, hayfever and even strong smells set me off on a sneezing fit. If I ever walk through the perfume department store you'll hear me a mile off! It's not every perfume that sets me off so I'm always on the lookout for something that will work for me. For her birthday my younger sister received a bottle of Floral by Paul Smith from some friends. Of course, I wanted to give this a go to see if it would be any good for me, much to my sisters annoyance as she claimed I was 'wasting' her perfume!
The perfume comes in a white cylindrical tin with the words 'Floral' and Paul Smith written on a psychedelic background. This gives it quite a retro look, like something out of the 1970's flower power era! The writing is slightly raised off the tin giving it an embossed look.
The box is opened by pulling apart at the centre to reveal a white, shiny, cone shaped bottle that is about 10cm tall. The bottle is made of glass. This has the name of the perfume and Paul Smith written at the circular base of the bottle but the rest is white and opaque. The pump at the top is yellow, with a pink ribbed base pink lid. The bottle is opaque, which has one obvious disadvantage - you don't know how much perfume you've got left! Overall though the packaging looks very stylish and seems to me to be aimed at the teenage girl.
Now comes the crunch test. How does this smell and will it leave me with a sneezing fit? I sprayed a little onto my wrist and sniffed cautiously. No sneezing yet! The perfume smelt light, sweet and in my opinion very pleasant. It's a smell that I associate with summer and being outdoors so it's good for this time of year. The perfume combines orange, grapefruit, ginger and water lily that are blended into white magnolia, orchid and osmanthus blossom with base notes of musk and amber to create a very feminine scent that is quite refreshing. It's also one that can be worn everyday. The scent lasts for 3-4 hours before fading away. It didn't make me sneeze at all, so it's one that I shall be looking out for myself.
The perfume comes in a variety of sizes; 30, 50 and 100ml. The RRP for this 30ml bottle is £23 but it can be found much cheaper online. Recommended!
The tin is practical for keeping the bottle in to protect it. The colourful pattern against the white tin really stands out and give it a modern crisp feel which reflects the scent of the perfume. the shape of the bottle is impractical as it is hard to hold and spray with one hand, especially as the bottle increases in size. However it again looks modern and funky. Overall the packaging is attractive bus slightly impractical.
Available in department stores, perfume shops, counters, online shops and airports. I have found no problem in finding this item.
This is an averagly priced perfume:
(the following prices are found at Debenhams online)
The sect is fresh and remains fresh, however, the fragrence quickly evaporates and after about 2 hours is nearly all gone. More application are definately neccessary. The shape of the bottle is not perfect for carying in a handbag as it is not compact.
Overall i rate this perfume at 3.5/5.
Great scent and attractive packaging. Doesnt last long and isnt great for carrying in a bag.
I first smelt this perfume a year ago and i still wear it today (which is rather suprising as i get bored easily with perfumes). The description describes, water lily, orange, pink grapefruit and ginger and a unique blend of magnolia, orchid and osmanthus blossom. The base notes resonate with musk, amber, exotic wood essences and tonka beans. Alltogether this mixture of scents, creates a truely beautiful summery tone which reminds you of fresh flowers and has a calming and soothing effect that seems to make me smile every time.
Practically the perfume is great. A 30ml bottle lasts a good length of time and one or two sprays wil keep you smelling lovely all day! The perfume comes well priced, if you shop around, especially when you consider the quality.
Although i find the design of the bottle and tin very attractive, i do have reservations to the practicality as it is sometimes hard to grip when you are in a rush, this is my only negative point to express.
All in all a fantastic perfume which i will continue to wear for some time. I would definately, and do, recommend this perfume to everyone.
I've long been a fan of the Paul Smith frangrances, so I was really excited to open this as a present on Christmas day! I always go for very fruity or flowery fragrances and when I tried this, I absolutley loved it. Id say the citrus smells are quite strong, as I can smell a lot of orange and its just generally got a really flowery, lovely smell to it. Its pretty light so I wear it from day to day without worrying about an over powering smell.
My 50ml bottle came in a square cardboad box, which was very pretty but maybe not quite as impressive as the larger, circular packaging. The bottle is really nice, very curvy and the colours definitley represent the tone of the perfume.
Looking at the prices, I do think the original price may have been a bit steep, although it seems to be coming down to a very reasonable price now. Its definitley worth spending a bit on however, as i personally love love love the smell! i think its really nice to give as a present and one of those perfumes that you can't go to far wrong with.
I bought this fragrance for my mum last Christmas as a last minute extra in her stocking. I was passing the perfume shop and it was on special at £12 for a 30ml which I thought was excellent. I took a bottle without smelling it.
I gave it to my mum and even though it's not something she would normally go for, she loved it. The bottle, I have to admit, is nothing special. It is shaped like a dome with a point on it almost. The bottle is coated white and has pink writing on the bottom with "FLORAL" in block capitals. The perfume comes in a tin which opens half way from the bottom and then slots together again. The tin is coated white also with a multicoloured "FLORAL" design. The tin is a bit misleading as it is alot bigger than the actual perfume and probably gives the illusion that the bottle would be bigger inside. If you know that you are buying 50ml however, you obviously won't be expecting anymore than that!
After buying my mum this perfume, I liked it so much that I bought it myself!
The perfume is a very fresh floral smell. It has a destinct orange tone to it but also has pink grapefruit, water lily, orchid and blossom to compliment the orange which makes this less citrusy.
The fragrance is great value and lasts for a good few hours. Unlike most eau de toilettes, it lingers for a while, and only a couple of sprays are needed.
This is definitely a fragrance for everyday wear and I don't think I would wear it on a night out, as it's more of a fresh fragrance.
Paul Smith Floral for Women comes from the iconic Brit designer's detour into perfume for both men and women, which includes a number of well-loved fragrances. Floral comes in a range of Eau de Toilette sizes and prices (from around £22 for 30ml).
I first bought this perfume in the summer and I have to say, Floral is definitely a sweet-scented spring/summer fragrance.
Presented in a gorgeous snow-white metal tube tin with an eclectic, colourful, psychedelic 70s design (think Alan Aldridge illustrations for design-junkies!), the perfume comes in a similarly sweet curved white lacquered bottle with pretty pink and yellow vaporiser collar and is described as a ode to the era's creative, loving 'Flower Power' spirit. This petite bottle fits easily into a handbag and does not have a heavy, weighty feel.
The scent is absolutely beautiful - a lively, summery feminine scent with orange and pink grapefruit citrus notes and an abundant orchid, white flower and blossom fragrance. The perfume is utterly girly and fresh - probably best suiting teenagers and women in the 20-30 years bracket due to the sweet, sugary (and bordering on unsophisticated) scent. The scent is perfect for wearing during the day, being light and floral with a comfortable, casual feel.
Paul Smith Floral is a gorgeous scent, but it does lack staying power (perhaps unsurprising with an EDT but something I have also found with an Eau de Perfum version also), with the perfume smell wearing off within a couple of hours and having to be reapplied intermittently during the day. As a result, I've found that my perfume has not been very economical - running out within a couple of months which was very disappointing.
All in all, this is a beautiful, young, vibrant floral scent - glamorous in appearance and with a fun-loving, charming sweet fragrance but without the staying power you might expect for the price-tag and brand name.
This pefume is beautifully presented in a tin which is a lot bigger than the actual bottle of perfume but it can be used again if desired. The bottle of perfume is simply designed with the key colours of white, pink and yellow, the only downside of the design is that because it is opaque you can't see how much perfume you have left in the bottle, so can't tell when you're running out until its too late! The name of the perfume "Floral" I think is quite misleading asto me it soesn't smell anything like the flowery scents that spring to mind. It is however a fresh, clean scent that reminds me of coconuts, so I would recommend it as a summer perfume, as its not too overpowering but is light and the smell does last for most of the day. This product is good value for money but I think it could be improved slightly.
I love the fresh fruity, yet soft smell of this perfume and have been addicted since the day i first smelt it! I had to buy it even though i couldnt afford it...
I absolutely love the design of the bottle, being small and curvy, and the colours are so clean and fresh - just like the fragrance! the box - or tin - is also uniqely designed, and i think for this reason it would make a great gift for any young adult or older teenager.
Its fragrance has a mixture of very different scents some of which i wouldnt even guess were in there, but it all comes together to create a sweet but not sickly scent, that is very memorable!
This perfume can now be picked up at a very reasonable price, and is definately in my opinion well worth buying, either for yourself, or as a gift!
I bought this perfume from Boots as I was running out of perfume that I already had and fancied a change. I wanted something quite summery but not overpowering. The design of the packaging looks great, the bottle on it's own looks fantastic as does the tin it comes in.

~ The Packaging and Design ~
My boyfriend uses the Paul Smith for men aftershave/ fragrance which I absolutely adore. So, when I was at the counter the first name I thought of was Paul Smith. The assistant got the bottle of the shelf, and the outer casing is gorgeous. It comes in a metal tin with the Paul Smith design and flowery background slightly raised off the tin in bright colours. The tin is a simple design - just pull to open it. Inside there is a raised layer covered in felt, in which the bottle sits. The bottle itself is an unusual shape, almost tear dropped but with a flat base in. The main bottle is white in colour with pink lettering. The lid is yellow with a plastic pink cap. The bottle and packaging sold it to me straight away!
~ The Frangrance ~
I like floral smells but nothing too sweet. This perfume was floral and fruity but not over powering and is perfect for day time wear. It's a very summery smell. Also, the frangrance lasts for quite a while, even after 5 or 6 hours the perfume still smells great. I've had quite a few people ask me what perfume I'm wearing and where they can get it from!
- What I bought -
I bought a 30ml bottle of Paul Smith: Floral for Women Eau de Toilette. (£73.33 per 100 ml)
- Where from -
From the Boots store in Newcastle-under-Lyme
- How much -
~ My Ratings ~
- Packaging - 10/10
The packaging is fantastic. The metal tin looks great and also protects the bottle itself. However, the bottle can be slipped into my handbag and I can take it out with me. As the bottle is as well designed as the metal tin, it looks great on its own. The bright colours in a simple design on the tin really look eye catching and modern. The bottle and packaging are easily identifiable as Paul Smith.
- Price - 7/10
The perfume was edging on the expensive side for 30ml. Also from Boots was a 50ml bottle for £29 and 100ml bottle for £40. However, it is a gorgeous smelling perfume which balances out the cost slightly.
- Longevity -
The perfume lasted for ages and didn't seem to lose it's subtle strength over a 5/6 hour period.
- Would I buy it again? -
Definately, as soon as this perfume runs out I'm going to buy it again, but this time in a bigger bottle so that it doesn't run out as fast.
