I am a big fan of Paul Smith perfumes. As a designer I am not so fussed but the perfumes are always very unique and delicious! They tend not to be overpowering or too musky. They are very modern and fresh smelling.

I was not sure about a Rose perfume, as it seemed a little old fashioned to me. I was bought Paul Smith Rose as a present and I do not like to waste things so I thought I would use it up but only on occasions when I did not care what I smelled like! I was happily surprised by this fragrance. Of course the overwhelming smell is of rose, what else would you expect?! But there is a woody undertone. This makes it far deeper than an old-fashioned rose scent.

I think the box for this perfume, while apt due to the prominent pink rose, is quite an old-fashioned look for this designer. I do not think there is any modern angle to this packaging. However, the bottle inside is very symmetrical. It is elegant and feminine, while at the same time being very bold, with a massive wedge of glass at the base of the bottle.

Expect to pay about £40 to £50 for a 100ml bottle of Eau de Parfum. It is well worth every penny! I would highly recommend it for those who like rose scents and even to those who usually think rose is too traditional for them.
