      Disadvantages

Excellent scent for the more evolved simian

Growing up, I tried out a few types of cologne. It all started when my older brother bought me a bottle of "Hai Karate" for my twelfth birthday. What a git. Mind you, this was at a time when cologne was associated with orchestral music and surfers. A time when the new romantics were all the rage in the charts.

Thankfully, I moved on from an inauspicious beginning. I tried my hand at Dunhill, but going from smelling like an elephant's jockstrap to a wooden one didn't work. I had my cinzano bianco moment when I tried out Prada pour homme, which turned out to be Prada for me.

One of the reasons I've stayed with this for so long is that it isn't overpowering or offensive as other colognes can be. There's no macho posturing here. So it won't be worn by a man who's uncertain about his own sexuality and is frantically trying to compensate. Apparently the scent has notes. And those notes include: bergamot, mandarin, neroli, cardamom, geranium, vetiver, orange blossom, myrrh, labdanum, sandalwood, tonka bean, vanilla, saffron, patchouli and leather.

I've not idea what a tonka bean is. But if we take away some of these, and narrow down to the most prominent "notes", I makes it Sandalwood, leather, citrus and vanilla - in that order. I hate to use the word sophisticated, but it is. I don't know if this makes sense, but smelling this puts you more in mind of a suit, or Chinos, T-shirt and a sport jacket. Smart or smart casual.

At £35 for a 50 ml bottle, it's not overly expensive. Its not flogged by some diva or coked-up supermodel. The bottle isn't shaped like a frenchman's torso. A good spray on either side of the neck will last pretty much all day, though it does start to fade after a few hours.

I've read some reviews from Men who refer to this as unisex or feminine. Quite what they favour, I dread to think. They probably do what most Teenagers do, and drench themselves and anyone standing nearby in Lynx (which I'm convinced is called that because it is derived from the urine of an actual Lynx) .

      Or perhaps Hai Karate.

        a real winner

I received this as a gift for christmas. I am not a fan of the many 'sweet' male fragrances on the market. I am pleased to say that this scent is rich, strong and with amber hues. The fragrance also has undertones of fresher cleaner scents which makes for a perfect mix and a superb male fragrance.

The box is simple and has a 'purpleish' grey colour with the prada logo attached as a piece of fabric on the front. The bottle in the main part is clear glass. This expsoses the subtle purple colour of the fragrance. The top third of the bottle is covered by a chrome plate upon which has the fragrance name engraved. The shape of the bottle is rectangular with slightly rounded corners which means that there is no risk of catching yourself on sharp edges.

The spray is located off centre on the top of the bottle and is covered by a chrome cap. This completes a simple yet classy appearence. The quality of this fragrance makes a big enough statement. it does not need the bottle to do the selling.

The fragrance is available in aftershave and eu de toillette. The after shave splash is most commonly available ain 100ml bottles retails for between £32 and £35. The eu de toillette retails at around £52 for 100ml. This is at the more expensive side of readily available male fragrances, however its distinctive smell makes it worthwhile.

Another key consideration is longevity. The fragrance certainly lasts and is more than a match for other heavier fragrancies such as JOOP. I never feel the need for re-application during the day and it has already lasted for entire nights out.

It is available to buy in larger boots stores as well as department stores such as debenhams and John Lewis. It is not as readilly found in the cut price fragrance stores which is a little annoying as i would like to extend my range. However this does mean that it will retain its position as a more exclusive fragrance which is no bad thing for those of us who are already lucky enough to won it!

Cool, clean fresh fragrance that is sure to impress

Prada is a mark of luxury and quality and they do not disappoint with this fragrance for men. i picked it up at Duty Free on the advice of my partner, a Prada fiend herself. The fragrance is very refreshing, cool and clean. It is not a heavy or over-bearing smell, quite understated but pleasant all the same. I do find it wears off quite quickly but i don't use it as an everyday fragrance, usually if I am going out for a meal or such like, meaning I only need it to last a few hours.

Everything about the fragrance exudes quality. I love the box with the Prada 'label' incorporated and the bottle is very classy too. Certain to impress friends when they use your loo and see them both on the shelf in your bathroom. However, wear this and people will most definitely ask you, what fragrance are you wearing.

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

          10/10

As everyone knows, Prada is synonym of elegance, fashion edge and impeccable taste, shown by the incredible quality of all their products (from clothes, to accessories to, how we will now seen, beauty products), and by their, let's say, reputation.
You can't go wrong with Prada, and this certainly is the proof.
The first time I came across the perfume was at a perfume store in London. They offered me "echantillons", so that I could smell the fragrance myself.
In that moment, in the middle of hundreds of people, I fell in love with the fragrance.
You can't compare it to anything. It's woody, but with a strong emphasis on oriental spices. A mixture between the twos is the perfect definition.
The intensity is perfect: not too strong, neither too light.
The bottle has a minimal design which I quite like.
Everyone that smelled it on me said that it was great.
Only thing: really expensive, but I bet you can find it for a good deal.
Would recommend it to everyone, it really is special.

          Disadvantages

A subtle fragrance that both sexes will like

          --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I first came across this when I received a free sample of it, When my husband put some on instead of the usual yeah it's okay he said this is really nice much better than anything else he had tried and I had to agree with him.

I find most mens fragrances a bit too strong and "woody" but this is quite subtle not overpowering at all. It is extremely difficult to describe the smell of something but it is gentle , clean and for some reason it reminds me a bit of the smell you can sometimes get from lipstick. It has a floral note, a hint of sweetness a fruity kick and spicey overtones and definitely a fragrance I would say either gender could wear. I have caught my daughter spraying herself with it a few times!

It comes in a very sleek square glass bottle with a silver coloured label on the front with the Prada name and has a matching silver coloured pull off top. It is nice and slim so won't take up much space on the bathroom shelf (plenty of room for our stuff!)

It retails usually for around £40 to £45 for 100 mls which seems expensive but as you don't need much it lasts a long time. I bought mine from Island cosmetics for £37.90 with free delivery.

After doing a bit more research I can give you a list of the ingredients used in this spray which may give you a better idea of how it smells
There is amber with a trail of vanilla tonka bean ladanum and patchouli as it's central theme

This is softened by ferns, florals and exotic tones such as geranium ,vetiver, orange blossom, myrrh and nirvanolide musk
To this rich fragrance Prada adds a cologne tang with bergamot, mandarin orange, neroli, cardamom and suede.
My husband generally sprays some on daily and never needs to add extra so it does last a long time mind you I also bought him the body wash in the same fragrance and he uses that most nights so he always smells nice. Update It is now October 2008 and he still has about a third of a bottle left so it has lasted him over 10 months.

I would recommend this, as although it is a masculine fragrance,it is also one women will like. Try a tester, wait for about half an hour for the fragrance to settle down before making a judgement. Fragrances go in three stages on your skin. When you first spray a perfume on it is quite strong and you may think you don't really like it but the initial top notes smell dies down and as it does other elements start to kick in. These are called middle notes and as they begin to die down the base notes of the fragrance blend into the mix which results in the smell you are ultimately left with.
          Thanks for reading

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

An exclusive, summery fresh scent- a definate hit from the Italian fashion house!

When you think of the fashion house Prada you think exclusivity. Luxury. Passion. And thats exactly what the first mens fragrance from Prada is. Its a passionate, luxurious scent with a light and breezy feel.

Its a cool scent, definitely not a heavy one, there is a definite smell of cleanliness- almost like soap to it. You'd think this would be unpleasant but infact its really refreshing.
The bottle design is simple and clean cut, just like the scent it encases.

Everything about this fragrance is light, fresh and cool, it would work really well as a summer fragrance- not too heavy for those hot summer BBQ'S- but still leaving you smelling gorgeous!

The one reservation i have for this product is its price. It might be an idea to wait for any summer promotions that Prada may have lined up for the product as its quite expensive when compared to its rivals. But if you like it for its exclusivity you wont mind paying that little bit extra!!
