Advantages: Long lasting, individual scent

Disadvantages: May be a little too strong for some

I love my perfumes and have quite a collection at home. One perfume on my Christmas list this year was Roberto Cavalli eau de parfum.

I first came across this perfume in a magazine and they had one of those scented pages where you rub your wrist across it and the scent transfers onto your wrist. Immediately I fell in love with this perfume and made it my mission to own it.

The advert didn't feature any prices of the perfume, but you could immediately tell that this one wasn't going to be cheap! The bottle alone looked expensive and you could tell that they were trying to market this as a classic, upmarket perfume.

The general bottle and box colouring is a gold colour. The bottle is quite simple with a really extravagant lid featuring the Roberto Cavalli logo, again in gold. The entire perfume, from the box to the bottle to the scent itself oozes class and sophistication.

I received this as a present for Christmas and I have to say that the actual perfume was far stronger than I had imagined it would be from the sample I tried and it was actually a little overpowering.

The perfume is available in three different bottle sizes and they are 30ml, 50ml and 75ml with these being priced at around £35.00, £48.00 and £62.00 respectively, which is kind of what I expected for a high quality designer brand.

I personally would say that this is a little too much for daily use and I save it for special occasions and eveningwear. The perfume lasts for hours before it starts to fade which is great and you only need two or three sprays maximum to be able to really smell it on the skin. Any more than this and the scent becomes a little too overpowering.

This is quite a heavy fragrance. My personal choice is generally something that is quite fresh and light and this one is the complete opposite to this and yet I still really like it.

The top notes of this perfume are pink peppercorn, green mandarin, Italian with base notes of roasted tonka beans and benzoil laos with the heart of the perfume being orange flower and Mirabelle plum.

I would describe this perfume as mainly floral with a slight musky edge to it. The marketing slogan is 'instantly attracting attention, all eyes on her' and that really does describe this perfume to a tee. It really does stand out and attract attention and I have had a lot of positive comments on this perfume since owning it.

Overall, this is a really classy, stylish, ladylike perfume. It is definitely of the highest quality and a little goes a long way. This isn't my usual kind of scent but there is something about it that makes it rather divine. If you like something subtle, then you may want to try something else as there is nothing subtle about this one and it really does attract positive attention from others.

This isn't cheap, but you get what you pay for and if you want a high quality perfume, then you have to pay for it and this is an extremely good perfume which comes with a recommendation from me.

Summary: A really good perfume by Roberto Cavalli
