The fragrance

On first application COVET is sharp, sour, fresh and energizing as the lemon, lavender and wet leaves mix together. It reminds me of Parker's first fragrance [Lovely] in the feelings it provokes.

I can't separate the sweeter florals or detect the chocolate in Covert's heart, although the fragrance warms up and sweetens considerably. So if you're looking for a floral or gourmand fragrance, don't bother with this.

The base is a dark woody blend, with a hint of musk and the sweetness provided by the amber.

The bottle

I like the wide base to the bottle. A lot of my perfume bottles topple over and/or roll away across the floor at the closing of a dresser drawer, but good ole COVET stays put.

However, the cap was useless and just didn't fit securely on the bottle. I tossed mine.

Sarah Jessica is really good at releasing all-rounders: COVET will carry you from morning into evening, all year round.

The staying power is much better then Lovely; Sometime's I'll spray it in the morning and still smell it when I change out of my clothes at the end of the day.

I love that COVET is something different and more edgy then a lot of modern fragrances, and I still wear my bottle on a regular basis. However: I don't think this is something I'd re-buy, but that is me being fickle, not a reflection on the fragrance.

I think - that like Lovely - a man could also wear this.

COVET has been discontinued, so is hard to find on the high street. But most online stores still stock it; The 30ml and 50ml bottles sell for around £10, while the 100ml bottle is about £15.
