Im annoyed that Ive all of a sudden got my fragrance reviewing head on now after the perfume reviews have been bumped down a tier but oh well I guess now no-one can say I was in it for the points! Anyway I got this "Covet By SJP" a few months ago from my mom on my 19th as she knows how much of a perfume junkie I am and she happy when I then review them as she always gets a treat from the proceeds. Im not a fan of most of the celeb scents but the ones Ive been trying recently have been really nice so I did have high hopes for this scent (and the Lovely SJP I got at the same time) and sadly my hopes were dashed and Im trying to find someone to palm this dirty perfume onto otherwise its going in the bin.

The bottle to this perfume is actually quite nice if you like that sort of thing. I reckon the dsign is aimed much more for older women and although it is cute and feminine I think younger girls/women like myself prefer something brighter and funkier for our perfume collection. I did not like the green colour or this at all as green is not one of my preferred colours but the black flower that is the lid is very cute. Unfortunately it doesnt even fit very well and rather than keep forcing mine on Ive left it off ever since I bought it as its just too much hassle to take off and put on. I reckon older women will love this and it is a nice addition to any perfume collection however the bottle is a little grown up for me and the one young, feminine thing about it - the flower - didnt bloody work!

Now if you thought the bottle was the worst thing about this perfume you would be wrong as it gets so much worse when you smell it. After a peek around the net I found that the main notes in this fragrance are as follows: Wet Greens, Magnolia, Amber, Sicilian Lemon, Chocolate, Lavender & Honeysuckle which to me sounds like the weirdest mixture of scents Ive ever seen. It doesnt smell much nicer either because the range of scents dont compliment each other very well at all. I would say that the two strongest scents are the Lemon & Chocolate which means this smells like sour chocolate which as you can imagine does not smell to great and it is very strong and overpowering to say the least. Now when it starts to fade away it does get slightly better as the amber and the magnolia start to make an appearance and that does smell much better but still not light and feminine like I had hoped. I reckon this smells more masculine and if I wasnt aware of the gender beforehand I would assume this was a mens fragrance. It is very heavy and strong and at times sour and overpowering so I dont recommend you waste your money.

As I personally dont like this perfume I dont think I could say an age range that this would suit best as I think it would be really offensive. If you are going to but it though definately stick to wearing it at night as it is simply too heavy and musky to wear at night. The only nice thing I will say is that this has now been discontinued from stores so I guess a lot of people shared my opinions but it is still available on websites like cheapsmells for less than £10. Dont waste your money though!!
