Advantages: Nothing in particular.
Disadvantages: Not particularly a nice scent, flimsy bottle, image doesn't fit with brand, expensive, not lasting.
I received this set for my birthday back in August but I never actually opened the set until during December so I have been using this for a few weeks now so about time I reviewed it I think. The set I received was the Soap and Glory body butter and the perfume together in a box set however this review will focus only on the perfume.
The perfume bottle firstly is nothing fancy as you can see from the image above. The bottle is a generic shape and the brand name over the bottle doesn't fit in with the brand image I don't feel, Apart from the pinkness there is nothing else to link into the image of Soap and Glory I feel. I also don't like that there is no cap on this bottle for the reason that it has the ability to go off in your bag as well as getting all ikky, I don't think it would have been hard to make a cap that fits on and that's a huge disadvantage for me. The bottle is actually glass despite the cheap look that it's made from plastic. It's not very heavy and I do think from the feel of it that it wouldn't take too hard a drop for it to shatter into a million pieces which is a further downside for me, having a 4 year old around who is very much into copying my make up and perfume I like to be sure that the things I have are durable and I really don't think this one is.
Just a couple of pushes of the top gives out plenty of the perfume I think. The perfume is slightly soapy and almost has a tinge of that old lady perfume to it, like the really really old perfumes that your Granny has had for years laying around which isn't very appealing. There is a hint of flowers in there but overall it's just a flowery, soapy jumble. In the first instance the perfume is rather strong but this quickly disappears without going through the layers as a lot of perfumes do. I would say that within about 2 or so hours there is no scent left which is very disappointing. It goes on fine but there is no longevity which is a must in a perfume for me, even if I can't detect it as long as other people can is no problem but there is definitely nothing left of this one after such a short while.
Although mine was a gift a quick search shows a price tag of around £16 which I feel is far too expensive for this, I would much rather get a smaller sized bottle of a decent perfume for the same price, considering you have to reapply so often it does work out as a false economy anyway. My perfumes last me months on end but I have went through half a bottle of this in just a few weeks.
Overall I am a fan of some of the Soap and Glory products, this however alongside the plum facewash is not for me I'm afraid and I wouldn't recommend it either.
Summary: Not one of the Soap and Glory products I would recommend.
