I received this perfume last year from a boyfriend and really just fell in love with the scent. It does stick quite closely to what I look for in a perfume - young, fresh, feminine and floral but the design of the bottle is quite different from what I would usually purchase.
The bottle is a square shaped glass bottle which fades from a matt pink colour to a faded transparent pink in the opposite diagonal corner. The edges are diagonally cut giving it a narrow base to stand on - one of the major downsides for me as it can be quite difficult to stand and easy to knock over. The lid is cut diagonally into the bottle meaning the pump is also diagonal, you really do have to turn the bottle on its side to spray otherwise you it would be hard to gauge where you are spraying it. The name of the brand and perfume are written across the front of the bottle in distinct lettering - the typography is specific to the Stella brand, letters forms of time dots. I think this is a very cool and modern twist, and something that connects all the different products in the brand together which I really like. However, I am not in love with the bottle overall. The matt pink colour, though very nice, does cover the contents of the bottle somewhat making it difficult to see how much you have remaining in the bottle. I also think a clear glass bottle catches the light in more interesting ways - this one, with its cut glass edges, would look fantastic in clear glass and would catch the light in a really beautiful way.
The scent itself is lovely - it is a very delicate and feminine smell which to be directly contrasts the design of the bottle in quite a confusing way. It is described as being 'reminiscent of morning dew' and I sort of agree, it has a light, fresh and delicate smell to it which is almost transitory and continuously changing. It has notes of peony, black pepper, patchouli and amber. These beautifully mesh together to produce a fragrance which is sensual and luxurious. I think this is the perfect perfume for daytime use. For a night time perfume it just isn't punchy or exciting enough for me. I also really like to use it in summer as the light floral notes in the perfume make it a fun daytime fragrance. It feels very girly and fun, with a little kick to it which I really like (it definitely reminds my of Stella's personality). However, I don't think the bottle and the scent tie in very well together because the scent is quite classic and the bottle is so modern.
The perfume ranges from £28.00 - £48.00 depending on whether you buy the 25, 50 or 75 ml and also where you shop around. I think the price is relatively good for a designer brand perfume. I do think though that there are competitively priced designer fragrances which are more versatile and offer a more expensive smelling scent. Ultimately I probably wouldn't purchase it but I did love receiving it as a gift and would be happy to have it again.
I wouldn't recommend this as a gift necessarily because I think the bottle and the scent are so incongruous. Personally the bottle is too modern for me, and also fairly impractical as it won't stand properly. I think the kind of person who would love this bottle probably wouldn't love this scent as it feels very classic and elegant to me. I'm not quite sure who would like both elements and so I don't think I could buy it for someone else.
The scent alone is very nice but not quite distinctive enough that I would pay the extra money for it. I think you can find cheaper perfumes that smell just as nice but have a better bottle. Nice but not enough substance.
Armed with my usual Davidoff Cool Water in my bag on my works Christmas Do 2 years ago, i got a whiff of a friends perfume, and shockingly, as I'm quite a picky person when it comes to scents, absolutely loved it! I think my friend was a little shocked when I got close enough to hear her breathing in order to see which one of my friends smelt so good, the perfume of course was Stella McCartney - In Two.
In Two has a lovely fresh scent, that is just the right balance between sweet and bitter. Normally anything with a floral tinge has me thinking its only acceptable for my Nan, but Stella manages to tone this down with just the right amount of black pepper.
The bottle, although quite simple, is perfect for the scent. Not too fussy, but has everything you need, and when needing a quick spritz, it doesn't make you feel like your doing the rubix cube just trying to get into the bottle, which for me is very good when I'm a little worse for wear!!
With each person having very different tastes on perfumes, In Two has been a pleasant surprise for me, as in the past 2 years of wearing it I have never had a bad comment about it. Another upside is my boyfriend absolutely loves it when I wear it!
The only downside with the perfume is the price, for the 50ml bottle your looking to pay around £30 give or take a tenner. If your like me, a girl on a budget unfortunately I usually have to wait until I receive In Two as a gift. Its also the kind of perfume I can't bring myself to wear on an everyday basis (partly as I just don't earn enough) as it's just too nice. I like to have a perfume I only wear on special occasions and nights out that make me feel dressed up, and for me...this is it!!
Overall, a lovely perfume that I would recommend to anyone as a gift or for yourself. To make this perfect for me the price would have to be a bit cheaper. That's not asking for too much.......is it?!
This is my perfume of choice and has been for nearly two years now. A very nice elegant perfume at a decent price too. The elegance of Stella McCartneys fasion and design certainley rubs off on her perfumes. This perfume in particular has a fresh, light, femineine and floral smell to it, more for day wear than night wear in my opinion. Isn't too strong on the nose, but yet it is strong enough to be noticeable and for people to pass comment. A lot of my friends now use this from my recommendation and useage of the product. The best place to purchase this is on the internet, can be a little pricey when purchased on the high street. Downside is the bottle size, most minimum perfumes are approx 30ml, the smaller bottle of this product is just 25ml which doesn't last as long as it should. Gift sets are a good purchase as you get other products, I use the body lotion aswell which is good as it's as strong and as lasting as the perfume so you feel the need to wear less of the perfume. For the husbands, boyfriends and partners, you can't go wrong with this product as a gift, or any other Stella McCartney parfum for that matter!
A perfume loved by all!
I first got this perfume over a year and a half ago and I adore it. It has become my favourite perfume, I have bought other perfumes since but none smell just as wonderful as this, without fail I always end going back to it and always ensure I will not run out of it.
Whenever I wear it I do get a lot of compliments from everyone, my friends, colleagues and even men, which impresses me that a perfume would encourage any man to pay a woman a compliment without her having to drop a few hints.
The reason why I feel it is so incredibly popular is because the smell is not over powering however it does last for ages. Its a seductive smell which never changes no matter who is wearing it unlike some other perfumes.
The bottle I usually get is a 70ml which costs me between £40 to £50, and a little does go a long way, I spray it on in the morning and it lasts right up until lunch time. There is all a gift set including the body lotion and perfume that can be purchased.
I have continously bought this for friends and family and no one has complained. As far as I am concerned it should be on the shelves in every ladies bedroom. Its a perfect as far as I am concerned for every occasion.
I was bought this perfume for christmas by boyfriend and to be honest based on his previous choices of purfume for me i wasnt expecting it to be great.
How surprised i was though when i sprayed it to test it, this perfume is absolutly gorgeous. It has a really fresh feel and smell to it. It is one of those perfumes that can be worn during the day or in the evening.
I usually where one or two squirts during the day without it being too much or overpowering and have had many compliments on it as well. It is also a perfume that can be worn at night - with just a few extra squirts!
It is one of those perfumes that makes you feel really sexy and feminine, and it also lasts for ages despite being used everyday. When i ran out i bought some more myself and was shocked by how good value for money it is.
I would definatly recommend this perfume to anyone, it smells absolutly gorgeous!
I love perfume, doesnt every girl? Perfumes can make you feel a varity of things, but most of all, i find when i am wearing perfume i feel womanly and desirible.
Stella McCartney : Stella in two is the perfect everyday perfume for me. I find its light enough that i dont reek of perfume, but it has good staying power. The scent of a peony is mixed with something spicier, which gives the perfume a real kick. I always get comments , nice ones when i am wearing this perfume, and i am always getting asked what it is that i am wearing. I picked up my bottle of stella mccartney: two in one in the airport, and it has been the best out of the blue perfume i have had! I would definatly recommend this perfume to another lady who likes to feel feminine and fresh, and would also buy it as a gift for somebody.
Stella In Two-Peony
Top Notes: Floral, fresh and black pepper
Middle:Peony and rose
Base: Patchouli, amber and cedar
I am one of those girls who loves a beautiful perfume. My love
affair with fragrance began when my husband purchased two perfumes for me following the birth of my daughter. This act of love and consideration touched me deeply-he had reminded me in a wonderful way that despite the trauma and indignities of childbirth I was still a woman, his woman. The two perfumes, I recall to this day were Ystasis and Libertine! The birth of a child is an awe-inspiring event, but every Mum, new or experienced, knows that this time signals a constant struggle to balance being a woman, an individual, with being a mother. As a mother I like to be reminded, daily, that I am a sensual, sexy and classy 'minx' (haha), or maybe just a little sophisticated! The guilt-free pleasure of applying a beautiful scent makes a me feel attractive-even when Im knee deep in vomit and other baby/child offerings!!!
I tend to seek out perfumes that are invigourating and sensuous. Essentially I subscribe to the view that the scent itself should either reflect your persona or mood, or indeed help to stimulate a certain frame of mind. If you acknowledge the power of aromotherapy and the harnessing of natural scents to stimulate the mind and body, you can gain alot from thinking carefully about what perfume to buy. Yes, many are synthetic, but if they evoke a feeling, perhaps it doesnt matter.
'Stella In Two:Peony' was a recent purchase of mine. A Christmas gift voucher buy in Boots. I wanted a perfume that would transcend day and night wear- well, why not kill two birds with one stone, huh? Now that my daughter is approaching the ripe old age of 4 years Im starting to rediscover the 'old' me-the one who could pass as elegant on some days! Who knows, maybe I will get to have a night life again sometime?!
'Stella In Two:Peony' is in a word luxurious. It is rich and yet refreshing. The contrasting fragrance notes of a very feminine rose and a more masculine, and deep signature of patchouli, cedarwood, and amber works incredibly well. I like a floral scent, but not one which is stiffling and hayfever inducing. If this perfume were a blouse, it would be a mysterious, and classy silk pussy bow; not some flouncy, lacy 'Miss Prim' number (the girls from 'Little House on the Prairie' aint having any of this flower juice!).
Something that is really special about this scent, is that it can be cleverly combined with Stella McCartneys solid perfume 'Amber'. I think that the flexibility of this product would suit a girl who likes to be different and individual...maybe mix things up a bit. Versatility is a nice touch I think.
A 50ml bottle averages about £37-39, although bargains are possible if you search around. I would recommend this product as just one sniff of it made me sprint to the counter- this is no mean feat.
