There are so many celebrity scents out there these days from the a-listers to the not-even-on-a-list-listers and they have been flying off the shelves in their thousands due to the time of year. I am a member of a number of survey sites who reward in Amazon gift vouchers and I had a lot saved up for Christmas presents however I still had a few left over to treat myself. I decided to treat myself to a bottle of perfume, Amazon had a lot of offers on perfume over the festive period and I chose the Sugababes giftset, they seem to have drifted from the scene musically but overall, as a band, I will happily listen to some of their more up beat songs on nights out etc. Aesthetically the gift set looks extremely appealing to any girly girl. Primarily the box is shocking fushia colour which is a mix between pink and purple. The colour in itself is very eye catching and looks great on my shelf with my other bottles and lotions etc. On the front is a sugababes type logo with a silhouette image of the three sugababes girls. The black of the silhouette really stands out against the vibrant pink background which all adds to the great aesthetics. There is a transparent screen on the front of the box which allows the contents to be seen visibly. Inside the gift set I received a 100ml bottle of perfume and a tube of body lotion. Both the perfume and the body lotion packaging is the same fushia colour as the main packaging. The bottle of perfume is slightly flat and rounded with a ball lid, it is very simple but effective and does the job! The body lotion is in a fushia tube with a black lid it has a list of ingredients and instructions on the back. The perfume, I find, is very overwhelming. It is described as a fruity fragrance but I think it is more floral and for older people despite it's target audience being teens and young adults! I also find that the overwhelming scent only lasts for a few hours before completely disappearing without a trace which is very disappointing! It means that I use a lot more of the product in a shorter time span too as I need to reapply it throughout the day. I tend to use it for work and not special occasions as I am not too keen on the overall scent. The body lotion, on the other hand, is a lot more appealing the scent is not overwhelming like the perfume and the scent does last on the skin for a long time after use. I apply the body lotion after a bath or shower. It leaves my skin feeling noticeably soft, smooth and polished. It is not sticky in substance and is absorbed into the skin surprisingly quickly meaning that I can apply it just before bed time and go straight to bed afterwards without sticking to the sheets! The price of this gift set was £14.95 which, in hindsight, I would not have paid for this gift set even if they were effectively 'free' with survey reward vouchers. The perfume was a small bottle and despite liking the body lotion there are equally as effective body lotions in Body Shop for a fraction of the price! Overall, I wouldn't really recommend this gift set either for yourself or for anybody else as I think it is over priced and, to be frank, not the best smelling scent!
The range of Sugababes Perfumes came out not that long ago and for each of the 3 Sugababes there was a scent from each of them. I suppose it was just the latest to add to the celebrity scents out there. I've not heard from the Sugababes Musically for a while now, but I have to say that I find their Music alright. You can buy this scent just in the Perfume but I got this set for only £1 more than the perfume was costing at the time, so I thought it was a worthwhile buy. I got this for £16.99 from The Perfume Shop. The set looks like the Picture. The bottle is a medium pink colour and the shape of the bottle reminds me of the Britney Spears Fantasy range. The 150ml Body Gel is in the usual shape of tube which is the same as the picture as well. You can see both products through the plastic part of the box and although it all doesn't look all too expensive, it looks nice enough. With the writing in black against the pink it goes together well. So how does this smell? It is a nice enough scent. It is very Fruity smelling and the notes in here are Juicy Pear, Lemonade, Magnolia, Lemon, White Sandalwood, and Sweet Honey. There seems to be a Spicy kind of scent in here as well but looking at the notes in here I don't know where this kind of scent comes from. All the notes seem to go together well and I would say the main scents in here are the Pear and perhaps the Sandalwood. After spraying this in the morning I could still smell this about 4 hours later but only very faint. I sprayed my usual 3 squirts on each point, so it didn't seem to last all that long. I do like the scent of this, as it is the kind of scent that I like, but I just wished that it lasted that bit longer. I think this is aimed more at the Teenage market, but no matter what age you are then if you like light and fruity scents then you should like this one.
I've just seemed to notice that celebrity's releasing perfumes have become a trend. While some people tend to avoid celebrity perfumes, I find some quite interesting. Some are surprisingly nice, while others are not so favourable. When I first heard that the Sugababes, my favourite band, were releasing a perfume range I had become very curious to try them, but never got round to trying or buying. Tease was first released in 2010 as a three part perfume range from the Sugababes which is self-titled. They were announced in August and released on September exclusive to "The Perfume Shop" and eventually released to other stores such as Debenhams much later on. I've seen them from £12.99 to £19.99 and the Recommended Retail Price is £25.00. I bought the gift-set at Debenhams for £16.66. The perfume is aimed at woman and I think it's aimed for girls and women of all ages. The product is presented in a nice shiny dark pink box. I found the presentation satisfactory but it doesn't wow me. I like how the floral patterns work with the curly writing and the the silhouette with the Sugababes next to it. I think it works together but not enough to wow the box overall, but it's still a very good and clear presentation. Along with the perfume, the gift-box contains 150 ML of shimmering body gel. It contains Aqua, Glycerin, Peg-7 glycerin cocoate, Polysorbate 20, Parfumm Acylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Synthetic fflurphlogopite, sodium hydroxide, magnesium nitrate, magnesium chloride, methylisothiazolinone, benzyl salicylate, hexyl cinnamal, Hydroxycitronellal, limonene, linaool, CI 77891 and C1 77491. To my surprise the gel wasn't pink. I was expecting the gel to be pink because pink was such a dominant colour in the product. The gel has a very runny consistency and a golden colour. The scent of the gel is a very mild lemon. It left a golden shimmery effect on my skin and I think the shimmer gel was true to its words. The only downside I can give to the gel is that is quickly made my skin feel dry and rubbery despite the softness. The main feature, the perfume is contained in a simple round bottle. The bottle is complimented with a round bottle top. Very simple and plain design. It's not as memorable as the logo. The ingredients in the perfume are: Alcohol denat, parfum, aqua, benzyl, salicylate, citral, citronellol, hexyl cinnamal, hydroxycitronellal, limonene and linalool. Quite traditional, I would say. On the first few squirts, it felt cold, but spicy. After the spicy smell faded I could defiantly smell the fruitiness and flower power tingling, it is described to include scents of lemonade, juicy pear, magnolia, jasmine, sweet honey and white sandalwood. I can't really smell the honey that much, but I can smell the lemon, magnolia and a bit of the pear. In my opinion, the scent is very similar to So?...Eternal fragrance only with a stronger lemon punch. It's a lot fruitier than it's counterparts, Tempt and Touch. I personally found the spiciness from the first squirts a bit too much and scent took me a few seconds in order to like it. The durability is quite long, as the fragrance settled on my skin I started to smell the honey more, which I liked. The smell also reminded me of cinnamon. I would recommend it to a friend and I have done. She enjoyed what she smelt from the tester bottles. She didn't buy this particular product, but she did buy Tempt from this perfume range. She said that would consider buying the other counterparts. Overall it's a lovely perfume for girls. It's not one of the strongest, but I think I would buy it again.
