Sometimes I think I just purchase branded products just so I have something branded and I did with this perfume. I've always been a fan of Swarovski products and was surprised to find out they actually had a perfume. As many of my other perfumes I bought this in Debenhams as I was super lucky and managed to get this when they had an offer on. Not only was it a bottle of perfume but it came with a make up bag and a lip-gloss pendant with a shimmered pink gloss. The bottle for the perfume is so sophisticated with the lid having a huge gem and the top and you simply pull off the top to use the product. I honestly like this perfume but wouldn't say its my favourite. It has a great smell its fresh and fruity but does smell a bit musky and the smell lasts for a while however it can be a little over powering. The gift sets are available in loads of shops and are great as presents and I would purchase these for other people however on this occasion I just don't think I would be in a hurry to buy it again for myself.
I own a lot of products that have been created by Swarovski although all of them are jewellery and watches. I didn't know the brand had created a perfume until I unwrapped my very own gift set on Christmas day.
About the perfume
The perfume is nothing to do with crystals as far as I'm aware. It is described as being a fruity and floral fragrance which will give you a luminescent and energetic aura. It has top notes of Lychee, bases notes of Pink Pepper and White Tuberose at the heart.
Packaging and Price
I have the mini one as mine came in a set but it is the same as the usual packaging. It is sleek, classy and very unique in my opinion. The packaging is long and thin, and the container is glass and you can see the product inside. The silver metallic lid covers most of the perfume bottle giving it a futuristic appearance. Swarovski is written across the bottom of the lid. At the top of the lid there is a raised circular panel and on the top of the panel is a beautiful crystal which makes the perfume packaging look really beautiful.
As mine is a mini, you remove the lid to find an open mouthed bottle which means you need to be careful when doing so, so that you don't spill any. You have to tip the bottle upside down on the wrists to access the perfume. The product is fairly pricey and even the smallest 30 ml bottle is around £45. Bigger bottles are available and these obviously cost more.
You can smell the perfume strongly as soon as you remove the lid. In the bottle, it smells largely floral with a slight fruity edge and almost a vanilla warmth. When it is initially applied to the skin, it smells overpowering with no niceness but this only lasts for about 10 seconds. After that fades away, you are left with a delicious aroma on the skin which is evident without being overpowering in anyway. It is one of those scents that almost become a part of you.
On the skin, it is quite sugary but still floral and sweet. It isn't obvious enough for the evening time but makes a lovely day time perfume. It is enough for people to comment on - all of which have been positive - and you yourself are conscience of it as you move around. It doesn't ever get too sickly for my liking and I enjoy the pleasant reminders. It is gentle on the skin and hasn't caused me any irritations or marked my clothes. It isn't old fashioned or too youthful. I think it has a modern and sophisticated feel to it which matches the packaging. The staying power isn't as long as I like and after a few hours, you can only smell it if you sniff the area that it was applied to.
All in all, I do like this fragrance. It is quite sugary and sweet which a floral, fruity edge. Even though there is a lot going on, it works nicely together and it is a delicate yet evident aroma. It isn't sickly or overpowering and the packaging is really beautiful. I think this fragrance makes a lovely gift as it looks and smells beautiful. I am knocking off a star for the staying power and price but this fragrance is a hit with me.
Firstly, let me tell you that I am a huge Swarovski fan and have for the past 10 years I have received many Swarovski gifts for birthdays and Christmas. I was not disapointed to find a Swarovski gift bag at the bottom of my stocking this past Christmas but was surprised to find a bottle of perfume. I wasnt aware that this product existed.
I am absolutely thrilled, the fragrance is not overpowering but fresh, fruity and sensual suitable for both day and night. The scent appears to last all day which is disapointing only because I dont need to get the bottle out of my bag to show it off. As I have come to expect from the Swarovski brand the bottle is glamorous, chic and expensive looking and the gemstone on top ensures that it takes pride of place on my dresser.
This product is the perfect gift for any girl especially those who like perfume and gorgeous accessories.....show me a girl who doesnt!
I note that some of the smaller stores do not appear to stock this perfume however I do note that Boots are currently stocking a perfume and body creme combi at a very reasonable price.
Enjoy.....I will be getting my refill soon!
As somebody who could spend hours wondering around any swarovski shop looking at all things sparkly, I was over the moon when for christmas this lovely bottle appeared at the bottom of my stocking!!! I was not even aware that Swarovski made frangrances... Im glad they did because i adore it.
The scent is strong but not overpowering, best described as seductive and sensual. Its one I definatly save for nights out, it does not cause any staining when sprayed and it has real lasting power, which means that you dont need to reapply it and therfore do not need to use so much Ive been asked on more than one occassion what scent im wearing, which I can only assume means that others like it too.
The packaging it comes in makes it the type of bottle, you want to keep out so visitors can see it, with its sleek silver and glass design, the small crystal at the top, means that it lives up to what is expected from the swarovski brand. It takes pride of place on my bathroom shelf.
I do not make a habit of reasearching prices of gifts but for the purpose of writing this review ive discoverd that prices vary from about £44 -£60 per 50ml depending where you purchase it from. It is worth noting that it is not readily avavilable in all swarovski shops, only a few stock it, i have seen it however in all the big department stores and boots.
Firstly I absolutely love the packaging this perfume comes in it's sleek yet glamourous and looks stunning on any dressing table! The smell reminds me of Chanel perfumes a bit in that it's quite heavy but I prefer perfumes like this as once you have sprayed a bit on it lasts all day and evening. Although it is quite a heavy perfume , so may not be to everyones liking I don't feel it is too overpowering . I think it's suitable for day time , so maybe work or if your going out for the day and also it's lovely for the evening too. It also makes a beautiful present for someone , although it is quite expensive I find that you don't need alot & as it lasts all day a little really does go along way! Overall this is a worthwhile investment as it's something a bit different and glamourous and luxurious , I absolutely love it and feel it's worth spending the money!
Swarovski: Aura, Eau de Parfum was bought for me by my best friend who knows how much I love the brand Swarovski and how I usually go around the store picking up various crystal ornaments and saying how cute I think they are. To be honest, I didn't even know that Swarovski made perfume, but having recently looked it up, I see that this is there first attempt at marketing a perfume with their name. It's called "Aura", a name which I think is reminiscent of the Swarovski brand as a whole and so I think its a really good choice. According to the dictionary, "aura" means "an invisible breath, emanation, or radiation" and "a distinctive but intangible quality that seems to surround a person or thing" and so I really think this is a great name for a perfume as it immediately lets the wearer feel that its giving them a something which sets them apart from the crowd.
The bottle design is gorgeous and I think a lot of thought has gone into ensuring that the bottle design fits with the Swarovski name. It is made of a lovely rich silvery metal with glass (not like in the picture above) and, in parts, you can see the pink tinted perfume through the glass. The bottle is tubular in design with the Swarovski name etched onto the metal. On the top of the bottle, there is a lovely little pointed glass crystal which sparkles when it catches the light. I haven't seen a bottle design like this and it really does stand out as something different and expensive. The perfume comes in various sizes (30ml, 50ml, 75ml) and I have the 50ml bottle which costs £58.50 from The Perfume Shop. However, these bottles are all refillable and and you can buy a 50ml refill bottle for £45.50 - making a saving for repeat purchases of £13.00. I do know that this perfume is more expensive than a lot of perfumes.....particularly for a debut perfume.....but I do think its quality stands out - and I would probably buy it just for the bottle alone!
The perfume is very pleasant and I feel is most suited to day wear. It is not a completely distinctive fragrance and it may not be something that immediately jumps out at you as something unique, but nonetheless it does smell very nice and I have had people remark on how nice I smell when I'm wearing it. It is predominantly a fruity and summery smell and, as some reviews I have read have remarked, its overwhelming aroma is of lychees - which is something I love. Because its so fruity it smells clean and fresh and reminds me of summer. It doesn't seem to have a spicy undertone to it (which is unfortunate as I do like spice) and I have to say that I do not detect different fragrances within it. For me, its just fruity and fresh - and that's it. That's not a bad thing at all because sometimes I just want something that's a bit lighter and more fun......and this is one of the perfumes I will reach for when that's what I'm after.
This perfume also has staying power and if I put it on in the morning, I will still be able to have almost the same level of aroma into the evening. If I spray it onto my clothes (which I sometimes do!), it does not stain them and the aroma will wash out when next washed.
I think this is a very nice fragrance and I think it would appeal to most people because there is nothing about it to really dislike. Having said that, because it doesn't have a very distinct aroma, it may not be the kind of perfume that is on people's "must have" list. However, it will continue to be something I buy and use because I do think it has a place for my lifestyle and its great for those times when you just want to spray something on that is fresh and light. However, I do think its very expensive (mostly because of the bottle I think!) and, at the very least, I feel the refill price should be considerably cheaper.
Swarovski is generally known for its collection of jewellery, ornaments and home decor items. Recently though, they have ventured where most brands go..into the fragrance world.
~~~A Debut Aura~~~
Aura is the debut fragrance from Swarovski. It was released very recently and takes form in an Eau de Parfum, body lotion, body cream, shower gel and deodorant spray. Aura is described as being "an incandescent scent that sparkles with the luminescent magic of crystals".
With a brand such as Swarovski..no plain, run of the mill bottle would be acceptable. The bottle for Aura is refillable. It captures a strong silver design which sparkles in the light. It shape is curved and feminine with a gemstone design on the top and a small opening near the base showing off the pink perfume within.
Aura falls into three categories being fruit, floral and spicy so it has a lot to offer. Throughout its time on the skin, it is said to offer fragrance notes of lychee, white tuberose, pink pepper, amber, benzoin and white musk.
As you know, I love my perfumes and enjoy sampling new perfumes over a period of time and giving my opinion on them. I never buy a perfume without sampling as I don't know how it will smell on me. Whilst browsing in House of Fraser last week, between myself, my Mum and sister we managed to obtain lots of perfume samples which I ended up coming home with. In amongst these samples, we quite a few vials of Swarovski Aura. The samples came stunningly packaged in a fancy packet which I thought was nice touch.
I managed to sneak a look at the bottle for Aura and it is simply gorgeous..I wouldn't mind having this displayed on my dresser as it looks ultra chic and expensive but I would expect nothing less from this brand. The fact that refillables are available bring Aura right up to date with the likes of Thierry Mugler Angel and saving a regular wearer some cash. I have been using this perfume over the past week and have managed to use up a few litle vials.
~~~Something About The Aura~~~
I wasn't sure what to expect from Aura with it being the debut fragrance from Swarovski. I suppose I expected it to be rather special and unique..unlike normal, everyday brands. Spraying a tad of this on to my wrists and neck, I am immediately offered a light, refreshing spritz which is packed full of fragrance and is tempting from the outset.
Firstly, an exotic, fruity offering is presented to me which is rather fresh but comes laced with a sour, almost raspberry like undertone. It is quite heady but a gentle, fresh floral tone develops lightening up the sweetness offered. The sweetness isn't generic and its exotic nature allows it to appear rather unique and incredibly favourable to my nose.
Reducing in strength over an hour or so, the sweetness from the lychee starts to leave the aroma. It is soon replaced by an unusual aroma which is brings a spicy trance with little, floral hints throughout. It took me by surprise as floral and spicy are 2 fragrance groups I am not used to experiencing together but it works incredibly well. It is quite grown up and confident which appeals to me greatly and certainly is unique.
After around 5hours on my skin, the spiciness is still apparent but gives way to an incredibly delicious base. It is sumptuously enchanting with the amber coming through most generously. Amber is a gorgeous fragrance note and Aura presents it in its finest form. There is still a hint of spiciness acting as an undertone to the amber which allows it to be very warm and special. Looking at the notes, I would have expected musk in there but its barely detectable which is good as I think musk brings a scent down making it more mature than required.
Swarovski Aura is a unique, appealing fragrance which would suit 20s upwards. It combines some pleasant and unusual note combinations and its lasting ability is ideal for evening wear. It is quite heavy and special so not one for day time. It is priced well for its attributes and is certainly one which I would consider purchasing the future but isn't my favourite scent.
Thanks for reading :)
Crystal transforms into a luminescent perfume. A floral fruity incandescent fragrance, for a vibrant aura that glows with the energy of light.
