Advantages: A light body mist, pretty container

Disadvantages: Not my sort of fragrance

A couple of years ago I received a lovely Body Shop Cassis Rose gift set containing eau de toilette, body mist, body cream, shower gel and a shower puff. It came in a beautiful octagonal box with a kind of cobweb top and, as it was so pretty and it matched my bathroom, it sat on the windowsill until very recently when it was finally opened.

The whole range is defined by a lovely shade of deep pink - apart from the body cream which is white and the body mist is no exception.

I will begin by saying that this range is no longer available from the Body Shop itself but I have looked on EBay and there are plenty of Cassis Rose products available there if you are interested. The other fragrances of Body Mist currently for sale on the Body Shop website cost £7 for the 100ml bottle. The ones on EBay currently range from 99p up to £4.95 plus postage.

The body mist comes in a clear plastic bottle with a spray dispenser. The bottle has the traditional Body Shop logo together with the name of the product in both English and French. The writing on the bottle tells us that it contains 'Spritz on playfulness with vibrant Cassis Rose scent'. There is more information on the back of the bottle together with a complete list of ingredients but even with my new spectacles and a magnifying glass I cannot read the tiny writing!

To use the spray you just have to remove the plastic top and depress the dispenser to spray (or spritz!) the body mist over your body. To get the full effect you could take a shower using the shower gel, moisturise using the body cream and then spray on the body mist.

I find fragrances notoriously difficult to describe but I will have a go. As you might expect from the name of the perfume the fragrance is flowery but it isn't a light sweet flowery smell; it has an almost fruity element to it although I wouldn't call it a heavy scent. It also lasts well on my skin. I often find that when I have used perfume I cannot smell it on myself but with this body mist I do find that I get a light whiff of Cassis Rose as I move about.

In conclusion I would say that this is a lovely product and I have enjoyed using it although I would not buy it again but that is purely because it isn't really my style of fragrance.

When I have finished using my Christmas presents I shall certainly head to the Body Shop to try out some of the other body mists though as the actual product and packaging is excellent.

I have decided to give this product four stars because as I say the product itself is great but the fragrance isn't really me.

Summary: A lovely light body mist but not my fragrance I'm afraid
