~All about Neroli Jasmine Body Mist~
The Body Shop have a small and interesting range of body sprays which are made to compliment the full range of fragrance and body care products that the Body Shop sells. Amongst the many Body Shop products I have tried is the Neroli Jasmine Body Mist spray. I have found that it can offer a light reasonably long lasting fragrance that is at its best layered with other products from the same range, although it can also be worn on its own to give a much lighter easy to wear scent.
The Product comes in what I consider to be a very simple style with no over embellishments to be seen at all. Many of the Body Shop products are packed in this simple scaled down style, which means we are all more than used to the understated look many of the products have. In the case of this body mist I cannot really see how providing a fancier bottle would make the fragrance more attractive to buyers, as part of what attracts buyers to the range of Body Shop products is the simple use of packing.
In my opinion although I am used to seeing the Body Shop body mists packed in this manner, I do feel the bottles have a budget look to them, The saving grace is that the coloured body mist within is a very nice shade of peach which has a warm and inviting look to it. The bottle is simple, straight up and down and has no real design to it that sets is apart from the other body mists in the range. I don't usually have a problem using the spray applicator and the spray can be used with ease to mist as much or as little as I want or need onto my skin depending on my mood.
Last time I had a bottle of the Neroli Jasmine Body Mist I was lucky enough to be able to purchase it for just £2. From time to time a certain newspaper runs a £5 off promotion in conjunction with the Body Shop and I find that is a good time to stock up on items you want to try. At the price I paid I was more than happy with how the body mist lasted and performed, even though it did have issues with longevity. I certainly got fantastic value for money at the reduced price I paid and I ended up with a nice 100ml bottle full of the body mist that was a pleasure to use.
~Top, Middle and er Bottom..Notes that is!~
The obvious top notes in the body mist are of course the neroli which is what gives the fragrance its enjoyable citrus toned influence, there is also freesia which adds a light floral tone in the body as mist as well as violet leaf. The middle notes are orange blossom which adds a distinctive orangey fragrance, plus exotic jasmine and white peony. I find that the orange note is present for some time and its part of what makes this so good for summer wear. I feel that the strength offered by the base notes of sandalwood, vanilla, musk and amber are not powerful enough to make the fragrance last for as long as I would like, yet the vanilla tone is still around after some time.
~Summary and rating~
Having used the Body Shop Neroli Jasmine Body Mist I feel that the best way to make sure it soaks into the skin and thus lasts a little longer is to use it on freshly washed and slightly moist skin. In using the body mist that way you should find that the effect is better than just giving your pulse points or the parts that you can reach once dressed a quick pulse of the spray. Another way to enhance the product is to use the matching Neroli Jasmine EDT spray which at just £1.50 more offers rather good value and a little more longevity. As the fragrance is pretty and easy to wear I feel it is something I would use again, although I do feel that at its full price of £7 it is rather expensive for what it offers. As such I feel a product rating of 3 stars is about right for the Neroli Jasmine Body Mist.
Summary: A nice body mist
