Advantages: A lovely light hint of scent

Disadvantages: Does need to be re-applied

The Body Shop has a lovely range of skin care, body products, make up, fragrance and pamper gift sets. The products are ethically produced and are in the main, so very lush that they are irresistible.

The Body shop doesn't leave our lads uncared and unkempt either, as it also has a nice range of products for the man in your life. These are handy, just in case, like Dr Who, he needs a little rejuvenation and transformation.

The Vanilla Body Mist which I bought using one of those recent £5 off vouchers printed in a well known newspaper is one of the lovely Vanilla based products you can buy. Its a body mist or spritz, which can be lightly sprayed onto the skin to give a gorgeous boost of scent and bring out your inner goddess.

It comes in a small easy to use bottle with a spray top and small clear plastic lid. As with almost all the Body Shop ranges, the product has very little in terms of packing, its just the bottle and thats it. The simplicity of the style is something that all Body Shop products carry through. Less is more is usually the approach with the products and this one is the same.

The mist or spritz inside is a glorious soft peachy golden colour, which you can easily see through the clear bottle. I feel thats handy as you can see at a glance how much you have used and still have remaining. There is just the mere hint of a flower head design to the side of the bottle which co-ordinates with the colour of the liquid inside.

The bottle I bought contains 100mls of body mist and is priced at £7. As I used a £5 off voucher it cost me just £2, which is wonderful value for money.
I would recommend that you keep and eye out for these types of offers and also check the Body Shop website for special deals which they have from time to time.

The ingredients within the Vanilla mist include fruity highlights of juicy strawberry and orange flower. I think these stop it from smelling too over poweringly vanilla like. There are also hints of Bergamot which is gorgeous and fuzzy warm peach. The main fragrance is of course the vanilla, which blends the scent reassuringly into a warm but fruity vanilla based blend.

There have been no fancy dyes or colours added to the scent, so any colour within the liquid comes from the fruity elements that have been used. This makes the spritz perfect for anyone with an allergy to unatural dyes or colours that are very often added to cosmetic products.

When using the mist, you will get the best results on freshly washed, just stepped out the of the shower skin.

For a very light hint of scent, you can spray the mist ahead of you in the air and walk into it. If you spray the mist a bit closer to the skin, it will give a slightly stronger effect. Either way it smells very nice and leaves a light sheen to the areas it has touched.

The longevity of the spritz is reasonable. After all its not an Eau de Parfum or even and Eau de Toilette, so re application of the Vanilla mist is to be expected. But at a cost of just £2 to me, I haven't felt that the ratio of value to money per application is bad, its extremely good.

My best tip for extending the scent and layering the over all effect, is to use the other Vanilla ranged products like the body lotion and bath/ shower gel with it. That way you are not faced with losing the scent amongst the shower products you have used before hand.

As with any product, you do need to try this to see if it suits you and The Body Shop do tend to be very good with having testers all around their stores.

I think a 4 star rating is well deserved for the Vanilla Body Mist and I would hope that if and when a good offer arises, I will be buying another bottle as its very nice indeed.

Summary: A nice product and one to look out for when on offer
