The Body Shop Vanilla Body Mist
Advantages: Smells lovely, very sweet, warming and vanilla scented.
Disadvantages: It's not cheap, £7 for 100ml is more than most for a body mist.
I tend to get bought (or buy!) a lot of fragrances and body mists, and one decent spray I bought myself with a giftcard a few months ago is the Vanilla Body Mist from The Body Shop. I paid £7 for a 100ml bottle, which I thought was a bit expensive for a body mist considering there are cheaper good ones around in Boots and from Avon, but given I needed to spend my giftcard there and wanted to try something new, I thought I'd buy a bottle of this body mist.
The plastic bottle is fairly plain, with a quite zen looking, calming translucent look, and a vanilla pod flower on the front to let people know the flavour before testing. The bottle is simple, but lets everyone know clearly what's inside, and there are no negative points to it.
When I first sprayed this scent on in the shop I really liked it, and gave it a full try at home after a shower later that day. The scent is not going to be suited to everyone as it's got quite a sweet flavour to it, there is a lovely warming tone to the vanilla scent, and it was very sweet and soothing on the nose. The sweet vanilla is very strong and noticeable, so this might not be for people who don't like to stand out, or smell too sweet, but personally I like it, and it makes a nice change from the other body mists and fragrances I use.
Also, apparently the scent of vanilla is meant to take away the cravings for sweet foods - I read somewhere that if you put a little vanilla essence on a fabric plaster and stick it to your wrist, aside from looking weird, every time you sniff your wrist the vanilla satisfies the urge for chocolate and sweets! Although this body mist didn't alter my diet drastically, I did find that I wasn't quite as bothered about eating sweet things after wearing it for a while - I smelt so sweet that my brain must've thought I'd had enough sugary things!
This is a strong and sweet smelling vanilla body spray that is very nice. I can't knock the fragrance, and in terms of staying power the scent lasts for 4-5 hours on my skin, which I think is very good. Suitable I think for daytime or evening wear, at £7 a bottle this body spray is not the cheapest though and I can recommend trying other brands too to see if they can match the fragrance, as there are some other nice vanilla mists out there.
Summary: A very nice smelling body spray, but which needs to be compared to other cheaper mists out there.
