Advantages: Very strong, long lasting and distinctive
Disadvantages: Very very strong and can be over powering
I very rarely go in The Body Shop. I used to back in the day when it was all the rage but now there's so much competition for them that to me the place is outdated and overpriced and although I love the concept and what they do I much prefer lush and ranges that are available in Boots at sometimes a lot less than The Body Shop.
However, I was talking to my best mate Pink who is a mind of information who was enquiring if I was still single (I was worried she was on the turn or summat lol). Anyway she had a solution she reckoned. I thought oh know she ain't gonna try fix em up like I'm a saddo is she?! No. Her solution was to get me to go to The Body Shop and spend me pennies on this stuff.
She has too much time on her hands and reads many magazines and in one there was an article about Vanilla in general. There was a list of products to buy and suggestions on how to use it and all that sort of thing. In the article this Eau De Toilette was heavily featured. It spoke about it's aphrodisiac effect on men. Basically it's meant to give the man the horn and be attracted to you.
Well I'm a single girl and I'm very much the kind of person that will give anything a go so unbeknown to Pink off I went on her advise and I treated myself to the whole range, I though in for a penny in for a pound!
30ml size, yellow/gold glass bottle, silver push down sprayer and a little slide n safety cap that slides on securely. White writing on it with a white flower. Nothing special but it's ok
Bergamot, Coconut, Apricot, Strawberry, Jasmine, Lily of the Valley, Rose, Vanilla, Sandalwood, Amber and Musk.
It's really strange. Until doing this review I would have said it's called Vanilla it is Vanilla end of story! However since reading the ingredients I've got my bottle out and had a really good hearty sniff.
On first spray of this perfume all you can smell is Vanilla and there's no mistaking that fact but once it's settled you really can smell the Jasmine, Coconut and Strawberry but you kind of have to know what your sniffing for if that makes sense but I can identify them! If you don't look for them ingredients you won't find them it's Vanilla to your nose!
It really is very very strong and sweet and to some people they would find it just far too much. For me I've had to get used to it as at first I thought it smelt of plasticine. It does settle down a lot after say an hour but it definitely stays strong all day. It's one of them that at night you take your kit off and you can really smell it all over your clothes. Its weird cos when I wash my clothes on a 40c I can still smell it ingrained into my clothing which I really don't like! (Can be com-batted by using a hotter wash).
As it is strong you really don't need too spray much at all if you do you'll know about it and if your anything like me it'll give you a headache and/or make you feel sick. It really is the less is more approach with this one and not to be greedy with it. This bottle has lasted me ages!
This is great for people who smoke this one cos us it and you can't smell anything else at all. It's one if you walk in a room you leave a heavy scent behind you and be prepared for opinions on that cos it actually make my step-dad gag he thinks it's vile!
I know your dying to know did I bag a man with the help of this fragrance....
I find I'm the only one that quite likes it though a couple of blokes have put pegs on their noses in my company! Pink was totally wrong and not for the first time lol
I wouldn't buy this again. To my nostrils as I said before it's ok and distinctive and you'll either love it or hate it unless your a Librian like me and I can take it or leave it!
£8.00 Only In Body Shop.
