Advantages: Smells beautiful, not sickly, most people like it, long-lasting scent, bottle lasts ages

Disadvantages: Discontinued?

I really enjoy perfumes and vanilla is one of my favourite scents, but I find a lot of fragrances far too heady and chemical and they often give me a headache, and vanilla is one of those scents can be very sweet and overpowering in perfume. This is not so with The Body Shop's Vanilla Perfume Oil though, it is just perfect. Sadly it seems The Body Shop don't actually sell these any more as I was unable to find them on their website, but they can still be found on ebay from around £5 including delivery.

The oil comes in a small round glass bottle which is flat at the front and back, and it is transparent so you can see the yellowish oil inside. It has a twist off plastic lid with a stick attached to the inside which allows you to apply the oil to your skin.

The oil obviously does feel oily but it is not unpleasantly greasy when applied to the skin. I usually put a dab on each wrist and one on my neck, but I always make sure to rub it in on my neck because I have previously found that it still felt oily hours later when I touched my neck, but the same could not be said for my wrists. Only a small amount is used at a time so the bottle lasts absolutely ages, I've had mine for a couple of years at least and you can barely even tell I've used it even though I have used it at least twice a week and often more.

I find the scent of this is absolutely how vanilla should be. It's warm and inviting, not at all sickly like most vanilla scents tend to be. It's also very natural smelling, not at all chemical and it doesn't give me a headache or make me sneeze like a lot of fragrances can. Just a couple of dabs is enough to give off a lovely waft of scent to anyone who stands close to you, but it's not at all overpowering and doesn't envelop you in a horrible cloud of scent that people can smell from a mile off. The scent lasts extremely well and I don't need to top it up during the day, though the bottle is small enough to easily carry around with you if you wanted to.

I've honestly had more compliments when wearing this than any other perfume I've ever owned, I've even had blokes following me around sniffing me so it's not one that will put men off, and believe me men can't stand a lot of the fragrances that girls like to wear! It's a fragrance that nearly everyone seems to love and I get compliments from all sorts of people when I'm wearing it.

This is the single most beautiful fragrance I've ever used and I would definitely recommend it if you can get hold of it.

Summary: A high quality, long-lasting, wonderful fragrance
