Thierry Mugler Innocent Fragrance
What is it?
A fragrance by Thierry Mugler
Contains mandarin, sandalwood, exotic fruits, amber and musk.
What do I think?
I like this fragrance but I don't think it should be called Innocent or represent innocence, maybe youth or the buzz of the funfair or something similar but definitely not innocence. The fragrance is very sweet and also a bit heavy and 'crowded' in someways, so sweet that it can get a bit sickly, and so dense that there is some 'guilt'...
The fragrance's main note is some sweet vanilla, it just reminds of sweets, sweets and more sweets - images of ice-cream, candy floss, almost like happy young girls at the fun fair. I think Innocence should be depicted with some kind of 'holiness' attached or associated with it, with so much vanilla overtones, all I can think is someone who has been over binging on the sweets and chocolate and this just depicts guilt to me...
Ironically, there doesn't seem to be any vanilla among the ingredients, just mandarin, honey, almond, exotic fruits, musk and amber. Seeing this in the ingredients, I would expect some sort of light fruit aroma, but just a very sweet woody aroma, and definitely some alcoholic hint of musk...
This is not something I would wear on a daily basis, and I would think it is too heavy on special occasions. The scent is not really appropriate for work, maybe at a carefree party, but personally, I find the scent a bit too intoxicating and I definitely wouldn't be able to stand wearing it for a whole day, it's the kind of smell that can linger for ever, so even on first impressions, this is definitely not a scent for me!
Thanks for reading.

I was bought a bottle of ANGEL INNOCENT as a gift, because they thought it was a lighter version of ANGEL. It's not; Don't fall into that trap.
At first I didn't really mind it, and wore it because it was light and sweet [this was back in the day when sweeter fragrances were less common], but after a while whenever I applied it my stomach turned.
I love the top notes; the mandarin stands out for me, nice and lightly sweet. I love the base; classic amber with meringue, making it fluffy and creamy.
It's the middle phase that puts me off. The sweet fruits and the [unidentifable] florals combine with the other notes to make the fragrance very sickly.
I've mentioned that I do like sweet fragrances, but ANGEL INNOCENT is just too much.
Plus; The musk is quite strong on me and I find it too sharp. Combine that with the sweetness and it leads me to migraine city.
The bottle is stunning & the staying power is OK.
There are just so many sense-friendly alternatives available nowadays, there's no need for me to make myself ill over a perfume.
Scent notes: notes: Bergamot, mandarin, helional, honey, dewberry, black currant, passion fruit, sugar almonds, meringue, amber and musk.

Innocent is the second fragrance from the fashion designer Theirry Mugler. It is a lot lighter than his first fragrance Angel. Although it has very different ingredients to Angel for some reason it smells a lot like it just a little less sweet. It could be the fact they both have bergamot in but that is the only similarity. I am however inclined to think it has something to do with the scent of sweet almond meringue that is the base note in this perfume. (what an ingredient - how do they come up with this stuff?) This also has a lot of fruit in as well including dewberry and blackcurrant which also add to the slightly sweet smell. In my opinion if you think Angel is a bit full on then this is the one to go for as it smells so alike just not half a overpowering. The downside is that you do need more but is a fair bit cheaper than Angel so t evens itself out. I love it but then I have a weakness for sweet perfume!
