The cool youthful, American fragrance.

Tommy Girl is the first fragrance from Tommy Hilfiger, the American designer and was launched in 1996. It is classified as a refreshing, flowery fragrance. It includes notes of apple, mandarin, tangerine, citrus, grapefruit, honeysuckle, jasmine, rose, and woods.

To me this perfume reminds me of my youth. I used to wear it years ago and felt very fun and young wearing it. They actually market this fragrance as being very youthful and full of excitement. I think it blends in well to the whole Tommy concept and look. To me it is the quintessential "American" fragrance as Tommy Hilfiger is know for their very preppy, East Coast, classic America look and this perfume is no different.

The box that the perfume comes in is very clean and simple, a white colour but has the Tommy Hilfiger symbol on the front which is somewhat like the American flag, a blue and red rectangle placed next to each other. Tommy Girl perfume is actually considered one of their all-time classics as it was Tommy Hilfiger's first effort towards a female release.

This perfume is definitely a very girly scent. As well as the flowery smells listed above it is also said to possesses a blend of a refreshing and energetic floral, with low notes of sandalwood and heather. I find the perfume very sweet and refreshing. I love fruity smelling products so this was definitely a perfect fragrance for me. I don't really wear it any more as I do see it as more of a younger smell, like I've said above but that's not to say it is definitely not for adults. It's a smell that you definitely remember when you smell it on someone and I always found that the smell lasted all day as it was quite strong. They do recommend that this is a great fragrance for summer and I do see what they mean as it's very fresh and fun and perfect for summers days in the park!


The bottle is made of see-through glass and the edges bend it at the top. The bottle stopper is in a top-hat type shape and is made of chrome. This comes off to reveal a spray action with which to apply the perfume. On the front of the bottle are the words Tommy Girl printed in white writing. Again, I find the bottle quite stylish, clean and fun and in keeping with their fashion range.

The cologne spray comes in different sizes. For a 30ml bottle you will pay approximately £24 depending on where you buy/offers available etc, a 50ml is £29.50 and a 100ml bottle is £41. They also do a really nice range of Tommy Girl body lotions as well to go with the fragrance.

All in all a great perfume that I definitely recommend.
