I was given a bottle of Tommy Hilfiger: Tommy Girl for my birthday this year. I have always wanted to try it but it has just been one of those scents I have never got around to actually trying. Tommy Girl was originally released in 1996 - so you are looking at a perfume which is 14 years old and still going strong so I decided it must be doing something right!

The perfume comes in two different sizes which are 30ml and 50ml. It tends to cost around £10 for the 30ml and £20 for the 50ml.

It comes in a pretty recognisable Tommy Hilfigure box which is pure white with Tommy Girl printed in bold writing in the middle of the box and above that is the symbolic white, red and blue Tommy Hilfigure branding. It is a simple box, nothing special but it is easily recognisable and I am sure anyone would know who this scent is made by.

The bottle again is very simplistic. It is made of glass and it is square to the shoulders of the bottle and then it slopes upwards into a narrower neck leading up to the lid. On the front of the bottle are the words "Tommy Girl". The lid to the bottle is is silver and is flat and circular on the top. It is an okay bottle, it looks a little bit too much to like the male version of Tommy Girl (Tommy) for my liking.

The fragrance is very floral and more of a day time scent rather than a nighttime scent and I would recommend it more for the summer months. The scent notes are blackcurrant, mandarin, spearmint, cedar, apple blossom, jasmine, violets, oak moss and sandalwood. It is quite an energetic scent. It makes me think of Independence and freedom and for some reason I always think of America's Independence Day but I think that is because of the American conotations Tommy Hilfiger has. The smell of the manadarin mixed with apple is very strong but because it is infused with jasmine and violets it tones it down to a strong floral scent.

The scent is very strong and can be overpowering. I cannot go near my Mum if I am wearing this perfume as it gives her an awful headache just by it being on me. I do sometimes find the scent a little choking as it can be overpowering. You definately have to moderate how much you spray with this perfume.

It is a nice perfume but not one I wear often. It is just a little bit too strong for my liking.
