When people do not know what to get you for Christmas then you usually end up with smellies and both my partner and I received a wide selection last year. I have never had a Tommy Hilfiger fragrance before and even in the shops I do not head over to the stand to try them out. We opened the set though and had a smell of the fragrance; we were not expecting great things but we were actually quite surprised.
==Price and availability==
This is a cheap and cheerful fragrance and you can buy it really cheaply. My boyfriend was given thegift set for Christmas that included the fragrance and a body wash. I have googled the set and you can buy it for £17 online. This is a great price as the fragrance is quite pleasant.
The perfume was designed by Aurelien Guichard and Yann Vasnier of the House of Givaudan and it was introduced in 2010. There is female version of the fragrance that has the same bottle design but I have not tried it. Both are supposed to smell vey similar though which I think is quite cliché; his and hers perfumes are a little dated nowadays. The perfume range is aimed at the younger generation and tries to put a bit of rock and roll into the bottles. Music is a definite theme here and I think the bottle is quite cool really. The bottle is designed to look like a record or vinyl disc with a radio knob as the lid. It is silver and little indentations and it certainly looks like a dial to turn an old fashioned stereo up.
The fragrance is not very rock and roll in scent though and it is nice but not very manly. I can happily wear this as a unisex fragrance if I wanted. It is pleasant though but it does not warrant the name "loud" it is definitely a casual daytime scent. The fragrance has a heart of rose and patchouli which is floral and bright with gentle lemon notes to give it a refreshing, zestiness that makes the fragrance light and fresh smelling. There is a spiciness about the scent too and this comes from tobacco which sounds a little gross but it certainly provides the fragrance with a masculine note. My boyfriend likes it but I must admit I was quite surprised as he normally does not like feminine scents and anything with rose usually gets ignored. He seems to quite like this one though and he uses it as a gym fragrance. We must all have a bottle of cheap perfume that you stash in your gym bag to keep you smelling fresh after a work out.
==How it lasts==
The body wash that goes with this is lovely and we had it in the shower where we both used it. It is bubbly and soapy and it has a very pleasant fragrance to it. It seemed a little darker than the fragrance though and you probably would not be able to guess it was from the loud range, very different. It was more like a Lynx body wash rather than a Loud one. My boyfriend uses this two or three times a week after a workout and I can always tell he has it on. It is not a memorable fragrance though and it does fade quickly but in the initial stages it is quite strong and floral. There is nothing sexual about this and I think this is because of the lack of masculinity from the fragrance but it is clean smelling and it is the perfect after shower perfume. It is very clean and pleasant. After a few hours the fragrance fades and there is nothing left at all.
There is a real delicacy to this fragrance that you do not get from regular aftershaves and I think this is nice for a change but it is certainly not living up to its 'loud' name. I would have expected more of a statement perfume but when you are only using rose and patchouli as the main notes you cannot expect miracles. I would be really interested to see what the female version smells like.
I probably would not buy this again for him as although he liked it, it did not knock either of us over and I prefer a fragrance that is going to make a statement. I want sex appeal and style not roses. Roses are pleasant but more suited to old ladies. Overall though this was a nice gift and for the price, it is not something I would replace but it is inoffensive.
I like to try new fragrances all the time and Over the years I have owned a few Tommy Hilfiger fragrances and this is one of them, Loud was introduced in 2010, The fragrance was designed by Aurelien Guichard and Yann Vasnier of the House of Givaudan. The theme of the design is centered on Music and the fragrance is aimed at the younger male. The bottles cap is supposed to resemble the control knobs on a stereo. So what about the scent?. does it continue on from the fine fragrances in Tommy Hilfiger's history or is it a rare miss?. Well in my opinion it is an excellent fragrance and I will explain why in a moment so read on, I had recently just run out of this fragrance after finding the bottle with a little left in.
The fragrance combines the heart notes of Rose with top notes of patchouli and ends with hints of tobacco akin to Joop. There's also a rather nice woody scent going on around the other notes and this compliments the fragrance well. I like fragrances that combine a Woody scent with a subtle flowery or fruity blend and this fragrance does that well. Given the style of the bottle and the branding you wouldn't be surprised to hear that this fragrance is ideal for nights out but it's also suitable enough for daytime wear. I earlier mentioned that it's fragrance was ideal of the younger man and I would put the ages between 18 and 30 for this one but you shouldn't experience strange looks if you are spotted wearing this if you don't fall into that category. The Fragrance lasts quite well but it doesn't have the same life as the absolute best of the more expensive fragrances out there.
You can find some decent deals on this fragrance, the eau de toilette bottles are widely available and you can also find the gift sets online and in stores. You will be able to find the 40ml edt and 100mls of the Shower Gel for between £15-£20 online and they might be a little harder to find in store given how many great new fragrances there have been since but you should find some. If you want just the bottle then you can find the fragrance in 25ml, 40ml and 75ml for between £10 for the smallest size and around £28 for the largest size which is pretty reasonable compared to some other fragrances out there on the market. Look around for the best deals and you could find a bargain.
This is a rather decent fragrance from Tommy Hilfiger which has a decent staying power and blends well between the various notes. I am now using other fragrances but I wouldn't rule out buying another of this fragrance in the future as there are some great deals and the fragrance is one that I like. Give this fragrance a try next time you are in your local fragrance store and see what you think. ultimately there are better fragrances out there but this is one of the nicest that you would find for the money and value. A nice fragrance that is another Tommy Hilfiger smash hit.
Tommy Hilfiger has launched a fragrant duo named Loud for Him and Loud for Her. Both perfumes are real rock 'n' roll fragrances inspired by music for the same public that buys Hilfiger denim. Perfumers of the house of Givaudan, Aurelien Guichard and Yann Vasnier created this fragrance based mostly on patchouli accords and a slight rose scent. Since the main theme is music, Chad Lavigne designed the flacons in the shape of music records. The men's version is transparent black, with silver stoppers resembling stereo knobs. Loud for Him was introduced in 2010.
