It was my birthday recently and a neighbour bought me this spray as a gift because we exchange gifts for birthdays because both ours are around the same time in December, it was sweet of her because she is in her 80s and is such a nice woman, I do not know how much it cost or where it was bought from but as it is an Eau De Toilette, it probably was a cheaper one than most perfumes and more of a body spray and affordable for some people who have a lower income or on a budget or just to give as a gift as I received.
It comes in a pretty pink box and the one I am reviewing is a spray, it looks a little different to the picture above and bottle is much slimmer. It is a mild fragrance and as I said more like a body spray, it does smell pleasant but not fabulous in my opinion as a body spray but I would not want to wear it as a perfume to go outdoors or anywhere nice for an evening etc. It does spray evenly from the bottle with a nice mist, just how I like my sprays to be and this one does settle on my skin quite nicely.
I have used it around a dozen times so far and the fragrance has remained on my skin for a short time after spraying it onto my body. I think for the price which I would imagine to be cheap, I think it is not too bad a fragrance and I would describe the smell as quite sweet but pleasant, in my opinion I think it smells like an nice air freshener, the branded kind lol, but I do not like this one as much as some other brands I have tried in the past. I think you do not know how you like them personally until you have tried them for yourself. I would not have probably tried this one had it not been given to me as a gift.
The bottle is attractive though, the perfume inside the bottle is kind of a hint of pink in the perfume. I have had not irritation with this one as sometimes I have with some cheaper sprays but this one has been fine so far for my skin. It lasts for the time I guess a cheaper one would last but it does not have the staying power that I much more prefer with a spray, I like the body spray much better than this one as they have a stronger fragrance that lasts far longer on the skin.
I was so chuffed my little neighbour bought me this one as it was so sweet of her to make the effort and wrap it nicely for me and I think if you are on a budget then this one may be suitable but otherwise I give it less stars and would only really recommend it to others who cannot afford a more expensive spray.
I give this one 3 stars.
Thank you for reading my review.
This is possibly the cheapest perfume you can buy (within reason), I'd seen the male Umbro fragrances in Poundland but didn't even realise Umbro made a women's version until I saw this 50ml bottle in Wilkinsons costing just £2.19 as part of a gift set with a body spray.
I knew I shouldn't have bothered, but I wanted to make sure I wasn't missing out on a big bargain so I bought a bottle. Big mistake. The body spray isn't actually too bad and just smells of a cheaper version of Impulse, which is exactly what it is. The perfume however is revolting.
It comes in quite an attractive pink bottle, it's not the most exciting bottle you're ever likely to see but for that price you can't be expecting anything special. Now, there are absolutely no details anywhere about what notes you can expect from this perfume so bear with me as I have nothing to refer to with not even a sentence online to help me along.
All I know is that this is a very floral and tacky perfume. It's the type of thing I'd buy my eleven year old daughter, actually it's worse than any of the childish perfumes she owns and I haven't even passed this one along to her as she has better taste. It's an incredibly flowery perfume and this doesn't change or diminish throughout the life of the perfume, luckily it doesn't last for long but even the couple of hours wear I do get from Umbro Elite Exotic is too long! And I never thought I'd hear myself say that about any perfume.
This has a very chemical smell and also comes across a bit sour to my nose, it has no layers of fragrance and is therefore very flat to wear and doesn't change through different notes as any decent perfume should. It just smells cheap, after a while the floral fragrance gets a bit sickly and it feels as though something else is trying to elbow its way through but it can't make itself known through the fog of flowers.
And what are these flowers which make up Umbro Elite Exotic? Pfffft, I've absolutely no idea. I sniffed my arm for ages to try and work it out, I assume from the name of the perfume it's supposed to be some type of exotic flower but it's like none I've ever smelled before. It just smells like a load of chemicals which have been thrown together and had a few drops of some general floral fragrance added. Like Zoflora.
It made me itch too, I noticed my neck and wrists were itching and immediately knew it was down to this perfume so I've not worn it again. Some perfumes do this to me, but they have to be very cheap to cause any type of reaction as I have skin like an elephant (figuratively speaking) so that's why this nasty stuff had me riffing like a lousy dawg!
When it comes to fragrance I own so many I've lost count of them all lol. I only ever usually buy big brands to be honest as I'm a fussy little devil normally however if you read my any of my reviews you will know the exception to this rule is that I am a fan of So...? products. I adore the range which has actually broadened my horizons because I now realise that sure I love my expensive stuff (I really do!) but sometimes you can hit on something fairly cheap and you can actually prefer it and get alot of pleasure from it!
Which is why when I saw Umbro perfume for the ladies for a pound a bottle (oddly enough in poundland lol) I thought what the heck I may as well give it a whirl. I Sniffed it first, then thought well it is Umbro (a make I've heard of) and that it would be suitable for daytime use if nothing else as I do wear perfume in the day and when I'm not doing anything but dossing about and that's a complete waste of designer stuff in my view lol So I got this one and another fragrance by the same brand but expect to pay about £3.99 a bottle in places like T.J Hughes and do look online for it if interested in purchasing it as you really can spend so little on it.
Well mine is very slightly different to the review photograph on the top of this review and mine never came in a box so I'm not entirely sure if it comes in one, however the lid to my bottle does have a light pink cap so the colour scheme is similar. The bottle isn't stubby either. So my packaging is a 50ml see through oblong shaped glass bottle with a silver push button sprayer with a square, fuschia pink lid that fits securely on the top of it. On the front of the bottle all in white writing there is like a diamond shape (on it's side lol) drawn on which is the Umbro branding, I'm told it's Umbro, Girl Sport, 'Exotic', Eau De Toilette and the size is stated (as I've listed already). That's it and although it doesn't look a mega expensive product it doesn't look cheap and nasty either but the bottle really isn't anything exciting to look at, at all.
Well for a cheap to buy perfume this really is a nice blend that doesn't have a cheap 'note in' it. No where can I find a list of ingredients that make up this fragrance so I'm relying on my nose to try to describe the scent of it!
Firstly lets talk about the strength of this fragrance. Use as much or as you little as you want to and feel comfortable with. It is quite rich and a few sprays is all that is needed on pulse and pressure points as usual. It goes on slightly wet but dries quickly and leaves no greasy residue or anything. Once on the skin the fragrance will stay apparent for about 4-5 hours quite strongly then in my experience after that time the fragrance has all but vanished unless someone sniffs you up close and personal in which case there is a slight aroma left on the skin which delicately fragrances.
The fragrance itself I find is rather unusual, well blended and very pleasant indeed. Although strong it still remains airy, sweet and light. So to my nostrils it's very sweet and girly. It isn't fruity or particularly floral but I would hazard a guess that this fragrance has a bed of mixed flowers as base notes like jasmine and then it is quite heavily sweetened up with vanilla and honey top notes. Just a guess from me that one but that's what it smells like to me anyway which is more important in my view than what I'm TOLD it smells of anyway lol. Basically this to me is a very young, everyday fragrance. Young women to me would love this as it's just a quite modern in it's approach is sweet, rich and deep without being old fashioned and too heavy.
I love this for day time use and it's cheap and cheerful. I feel a bit like I'm wearing candyfloss due to the sweetness and generally it makes me feel nice, feminine and girly! A great, economical buy. I love it and it's worth every penny of it's tiny price tag!
