Advantages: Nice packaging, slightly unisex scent

Disadvantages: May be too clean/fresh for fans of sweet girly fragrance

I bought this perfume a little while ago and since no one has yet reviewed it I thought I would.

Urban Retreat Reverie perfume comes in a 100 ml bottle. I bought mine from Boots when there was a 2 for 3 offer in Urban Retreat, but it currently retails on the Boots website for £24.95 which is not a bad price for a 100 ml bottle.

Urban Retreat is a beauty salon and they have created this perfume along with Roja Dove, who is "Professeur des Parfums and British Beauty Expert at the Urban Retreat". For more information on them, their website is www.urbanretreat.co.uk.

My bottle, like the picture is a clear glass rectangular bottle, with a white label. Unlike the picture, mine came with a silver and white tasseled old fashioned spray attachment, which looks very sophisticated on the dressing table. It also dispense the fragrance in small delicate sprays which is good.

The label has Urban Retreat Reverie Eau de Toilette in silver lettering and says "Spend your day dreaming of a romantic rendevous"

Chance would be a fine thing (as my Granny used to say) I tend to spend my day running round like a mad thing, doing 4 things at once and trying to work out what to review on dooyoo next! Perhaps I should chill out a bit and dream of a romantic rendevous - best not tell Mr Geranium about that though!

Anyway, on to the most important thing - how does this smell?

The notes are supposed to be geranium, lavender and bergamot. On various websites it decribes this fragrance as a " romantic and enchanting light and fresh floral fragrance"

I think the description sounds quite feminine but I actually find this fragrance to be quite androgynous, and not at all girly. There have been a few fragrances of recent times that could easily be worn by a man or a woman like CK1 and I would out this into that category. I tested it on Mr Geranium and he said it was not overly girly and was on the softer side of something a bloke might wear. He said it smelt citrussy.

I definitey smell citrus at first and then it does blend and settle down into a light herbal fresh scent. I can detect a little geranium and lavender in it.

I think this is a perfect work fragrance - great for daytime when you want a hint of scent but you don't want to be wafting round the work place knocking everyone out with a heavy sensual evening scent.

If you are a fan of real, girly sweet scents and nothing else then you won't like this, but if you like fresh, clean herbal scents then you probably will.

Summary: A good value fragrance - great for day wear
