Having bought myself the original Usher fragrance as a Christmas treat I planned to look out for the next fragrance instalment in the Usher line. I did not have to wait to long as it has recently been joined by the new "UR" fragrance. Having recently run out of Bvlgari (another fragrance which I have reviewed) I decided to pick up a bottle of this new fragrance for myself to see if it was indeed as good as the original Usher fragrance.
Usher Raymond released his original fragrance after a number of celebrities had released their own fragrances. After some being massive success stories they have released more and more with Sean Coombs releasing another fragrance in his Sean John collection. Usher is also one of the few to release a second fragrance. This fragrance is currently "limited edition" but is expected to be made permanent soon enough due to strong opening sales.
Not quite important as the fragrance but nonetheless important is the look of the bottle and I am pleased to say that The Bottle is pretty much the same in terms of look as the original except the silver colour of the new bottle instead of the black design of the original. Just like the original this looks a very posh fragrance and it's bottle is very well designed and catches the eye when you see a tester on the shelf. They both feature the same cap.
Usher UR is described as an energetic, masculine, and confident fragrance and I can understand what they are getting at. It has a lovely freshness about it which makes it slightly softer than the original Usher fragrance. You can buy this fragrance in either a 50ml or 100ml bottle like with most fragrances on the market, you can pick up the fragrance for between £23 and about £42 depending on the size of bottle you choose. Here is a rundown of the different stages of this fragrance from Usher.
Here we start off the fragrance and This has a lovely start to it which is very fresh and gives off a crispy fruity, This gives you a fresh scent almost like a fresh sea breeze. This tends to last a couple of hours then leads into the Heart notes.
Here we have a slightly more musky fragrance which gives off a slight nutmeg scent with an hint of artemisia which gives off the herb scent you should smell around this time. This typically lasts around 2-3 hours then leads to the base notes.
Now we come to the end of the fragrance and this has a woody scent to it which gives off a lovely scent. The Base notes include Gualac wood, cashmere wood, and sandalwood. This lasts for another 3 hours or so and will then start to fade as the scent gets weaker.
This is great for a variety of occasions and has enough about it for you to be able to wear it for work as well as on your nights out. Make sure you look out for it and you will notice the scent change subtly over the next few hours after spraying this. You will not need to spray too much on as it uses what you do spray pretty well so you don't need to keep putting more on all the time. This is a really impressive scent in terms of scent and staying power.
This is another fine fragrance for men and I would say is most suited to the younger man due to it's freshness. Having said that, I feel that it is versatile enough to be worn by a variety of different ages. This is a really highly recommended fragrance and another hit from Usher. One of the best fragrances for men around at the moment. A brilliant and very versatile eau de toilette that will please the women too.
UR for Men is a fresh aromatic featuring Sea Breeze accord, crisp fruits, nutmeg, basil, bay oil, artemisia, guaiac wood, cashmere wood and sandalwood.
