My partner bought me a bottle of this a few years ago as a christmas present, although it has the name Versace on it, for me there is something cheap about the product, in fragrance and the actual look of it, therefore we've agreed that I won't have this again in the near future.
How does it look:
The product does look as though it should only be available in chemists, it sounds like a snobbish thing to say, but it looks medical rather than whimsical, poetic and fragrant. The bottle itself is blue to fit with the Blue Jean name. I'm not sure what it is, but I hated the design of the bottle so much, it is not masculine at all and reminded me of an old seafood restaurant which I liked but didn't really ever hope to associate with a designer fragrance (And i'm sure Versace don't sell it under that guise either!!).
Where can you buy it:
You can buy this in all decent fragrance stores, Boots, Superdrug and most supermarkets, its also available on Amazon.
How much does it cost:
Currently in Boots you can buy 75ml for £10, reduced from £20, it is that kind of brand, it holds the Versace name, but is very much a versace budget brand. It is also available for £18.99 in Debenhams and I saw a bottle in my local tesco the other day for £12.99.
What is good about it:
The smell is warm and woody, it looks very feminine but actually smells quite masculine, there is an oriental smell to it also, it is dry, overwhelmingly masculine but feels cool, it sticks on your skin and is probably good as a slightly bland fragrance to wear for a job interview or something where you need a safe smell.
What is bad about it:
It looks horrible, from the atrocious bottle to the blue colour, it is a safe smell and as such, its nice enough but is never going to stand out from a crowd, it doesn't have anything that makes it different or special and therefore its something you would settle for really. Overall I didn't particularly like it and have made it clear to others that it wasn't a favourite. My brother agrees and actually tried to give me his bottle as he didn't want guests seeing it in his bathroom, but I politely declined.
I keep getting given versace blue jeans as I used to like it a long time ago and even though I have totally gone off it I seem to get stuck with another bottle. I think that recently it has been giving me a soapy powdered smell that puts me off it and I dread having to wear it.
When I first wore this I wore it all the time and I think I made myself get fed up with it. I bought it for myself at first because it was very cheap and now friends still think I like it.
I think the bottle that blue jeans comes in is good, it looks cool with a lot of texture and design all around it. The tin you get the fragrance in is great too and its very well made. It protects the bottle and looks colourful.
You can buy this cheap as I have had this for £9.99 for the 50ml bottle. I think thats why I keep getting it as it looks like a good present but costs very little. I think it is a good idea for that purpose only if the person is a fan of this.
I used to think this was very fresh and woody but I now just get that thick heavy soapy smell which I hate. I like soapy aromas at times but this one is so thick I can taste it when I wear it and that is not good at all.
There is nutmeg in this and I think it comes over too strong and I don't like it. It is an odd mix with lavender and citrus when it goes on and then the musk and vanilla get too much for my nose after a while and I want to wash this off.
I think I have just worn this too much in the past and fallen out with it because I do not get on with it any more even though I would like to as I have some left. I try to wear it still but it just doesn't suit me now.
I would not like to say this is rubbish because I liked it a lot in the past and the price is very good. It lasts a long time and does not wear off much at all, but I can't recommend it fully since I have fallen out with it.
It was my friends 18th birthday and I thought I would buy him a present as it was a special birthday. I went shopping and came across Versace blue jeans cologne in the factory shop. I decided to smell it before I spent my £10 on the 75ml bottle, at first I did thought that it was too good to be true to get a 75ml Versace cologne for only £10, which is rather cheap when comparing to other Versace products which tend to be very expensive.
The lady on the counter gave me the tester bottle which looked very stylish.
I sprayed the cologne on my wrist and smelt it. The smell was very masculine and strong noting that the cologne is a mixture of freesia, sandalwood, lime, cedar, citrus, oak and patchouli. The smell, had an after bath smell, which I liked, because if you are too busy to have a bath you can just spray the cologne and get away with it. Moreover, to my knowledge guys have a habit of skipping one day without a bath or shower, so this really looked like a good idea for a present.
I immediately fell in love with the cologne and knew my friend was going to love his birthday present. Of course just like many versace items, this cologne was manufactured in Italy.
It however, came to pass that I had to move to University, I therefore, did not get the chance to give my friend the birthday present. I therefore, decided to use the cologne on my self, as I loved the smell. I opened the tin which the cologne comes in and the first thing that hit me was the lovely strong smell of the cologne, i quickly sprayed some on my self.
A lot of people did not notice my smell, but all were questioning me if I just hugged a guy or if I was wearing a men's' aftershave, and it all came down to yes, I am wearing a Versace blue jeans cologne. I did thought I was spraying too much so I decided decrease the amount I sprayed, but the comments from people were all the same.
The cologne is very strong that two sprays last the whole day and the area that I am standing when I spray the perfume will smell of the cologne for a couple of hours.
I got fed up with everyone mentioning how I smelt like a guy. So I gave the cologne to one of my friends.
However, this shows that the cologne is definitely meant for men and in no way it can be a unisex cologne. As you all know there are some colognes or aftershaves you can always get away with it, mentioning lynx for men in particular which I always get away with. The smell of the Versace jeans is very sensual therefore, I would say its for casual wear rather than sports wear as it does not have an aggressive smell and it's not for dinner wear as you will choke your might destruct your date with the strong smell.
As I noted that this cologne will make a great present as it comes in a well designed blue tin, which is also great storage for the cologne. The cologne itself is comes in a colourless thick bottle which has lion engraves on the centre going all the way round the bottle, finished by some downward stripes on both the top and bottom of the bottle and the imprints of the cologne's name and manufacture name.
The cologne itself is blue in colour, so a lot of people actually think the bottle is blue, but it's actually the cologne that makes the bottle blue.
Therefore, as you use the cologne the colour of the bottle will start to reveal itself. The lid of the cologne is black in colour and also stylish and designed with a lion on top of it. The whole design of this cologne just makes it look expensive and worth the money without even thinking of how it smells.
The cologne also comes in different sizes including 7.5ml and 75ml. However, I have actually bought the 7.5ml for my house mate which cost me £3.95 in the factory shop and I also bought other small colognes including burberry.
The 7.5ml blue jeans comes in the same packaging and has the same design as the 75ml.
The only difference between the two is that the 7.5ml is extra small and it does not have a spray nozzle, therefore you have to apply the cologne with your finger tips or however you might want to do it.
My friend seemed to like the cologne and whenever my friend passed me I could tell whether they were wearing the cologne or not. When he passed me having applied the cologne, he left the area smelling nice and you could tell it's a guy who just walked passed (no wonder why everyone was giving me grief on why I smelled like a guy).
Through my experience with the blue jeans, I know how strong the lovely smell is but it could get annoying if it's stuck on your fingers, specially when you want to eat.
The only message the smell on your fingers will be telling you is that your hands are not clean enough mate as you can still smell me.
The cologne tend to stay on my clothes till the day I washed them and whenever I opened the cupboard were I keep all my dirty clothes, all you could smell was the cologne, which I thought was ok as you couldn't tell if my clothes were dirty, unless you saw a stain on them.
However, there is one thing that annoyed me, and that is the lid of the cologne. The lid is black in colour stylish etc, but when you put it on the bottle it does not click or hold onto the bottle tightly like all the perfumes and deodrants which I have owned.
The lid not clicking on the bottle does not make me feel safe, it makes me feel like the lid can fall anytime if the bottle ever falls. This therefore, therefore forced me to keep the cologne in its container all the time, as I would rather be safe than sorry.
I would definitely recommend this cologne to all the guys who want to stand out in the crowd not because you smell of sweat but because you smell very nice and masculine like you should. This Versace blue jeans cologne definitely has a unique smell which will help you to stand out more and attract all those lovely girls, who likes their men to smell nice.
If you are one of those guys who like to skip a day or two without having a shower this cologne is definitely your alternative option to a bath or shower as it has this after bath scent which I, myself fell in love with.
The cologne is everything you would dream of e.g. easy to store, easy to spray, great smell, a very popular brand like Versace at a very cheap price. Moreover, because the cologne has a strong smell, it will take ages for it to finish as a small spray will last a long time unless ofcourse if you buy the 7.5ml bottle which is extra small and is not intended to last long in general.
To all the ladies this will definitely make a good present to your man, brother, son or dad.
If you are a lady I wouldn't recommend you buying this for yourself, because all you will get is grief from other people asking you why you smell like a bloke or if you have been hugging a geezer,
---Versace also make similar colognes which have similar names including Versace black jeans, Versace baby blue jeans etc.
---The cologne comes in different sizes, but I have only seen a 7.5ml and 75 ml bottle.
---The price of the cologne does vary, I bought mine for £10 which you may think is too good to be true for a Versace cologne, but the cheapest I have seen was £9 and the most expensive price of this cologne I have seen is £20.
---I bought mine in the factory shop were you can buy both the 7.5ml and 75ml bottle. I have however, also seen the perfume in shops like boots, Wilkinson, the perfume etc.
---There is also a ladies verseion of this cologne which is called "Versace red jeans" which hopefully I will be buying soon in the future as I liked the blue jeans.
I received this for my birthday four months ago and was dubious at first as I'd never heard of this particular one before. I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the wrapping paper though and found a sturdy and nicely decorated tin which I now use as a pencil pot on my desk and in that role it's performing admirably.
The actual fragrance comes in a slightly blue tinted bottle with the fragrance being a blue liquid inside.
It has a nice fresh smell when first applied, slightly musky, I can detect hints of pine in there as well. It starts off strong like most eau de toilette's however, it the smell matures and smells a lot nicer one to two hours after application. And unlike some it is still noticeable 12+ hours after one application. I have gone to bed then woken up in the morning, brushed my neck with my hand and still been able to detect it there.
Overall an amazing fragrance with a good longevity and a great price at £19.99.
The tin cover for this spray which has a picture of a man playing a guitar whilst looking up at the sky and i think he is singing, the main colours for the tin is blue and a dark shade of gold, the blue is used for the background of the tin and the spray might i add and the dark gold is used for the picture and all the words on the tin can.
The actual spray was sold to me for a moderate amount of £12.00 which brought at a market small in my hometown of Leeds, the top of the spray has a black lid on it and has a symbol of a lion on the top of the lid. There are four pictures of lions on all four sides of the spray.
On the front you have the classic versace logo which says in dark gold "versace BLUE JEANS man"
The spray smells slightly manly but still can be worn by men to attract the ladies, at first it is hard to get the smell but soon it starts to smell a bit like citrus and very fruity like an orange. It takes a while to understand the smell but you soon when you get past all the alcohol you will taste and smell the sprays fragrance.
My spray came in the amount of 75ml spray and cost me £12.00 and the company claims that it was a natural spray and has 2.5 us fl.oz.
thank you and i hope you read my other reviews at mehmoou1001
I got this for my birthday last year and still have it, I love the smell, and so do many other people wo have commented on my fragrent smell.
It is also very cheap as mens fragrences go, as you could be paying up to £30 for something of a similar size, and with those ones you get some rubbish looking bottle, in a flimsy cardboard box, where as with blue Jeans Man and the others in the range, you get a brilliantly decorated tin to keep it in, which as i have done makes a great money box afterwards.
If you are thinking that you don't want to possibly waste your money on something which may end up being cheap and nasty, go into a boots or somewhere similar, and get a free sample to smell and i guarentee you will be walking out of the shop with one in your hand.
Versace Blue Jeans first came out back in 1994 and ten years or so later I still like the smell of this fragrance. I remember then it used to be quite expensive a 75ml bottle would set you back £30 and in some shops easily £35. Not now though a bottle of this refreshing scent will only set you back around £19.00 ( 75ml) and in some chemists you can find this for around £15.00 or less. Now £15 is not much when comparing it to the expensive aftershaves out there and many smell awful.
Versace Blue Jeans is unique in every sense of the word , a colourful fragrance that is packaged in a tin container. I know most of you have heard of this product and so the more reason why you all most probably have your own views on this scent. But I am not here to sell you this fragrance , I am here to tell you how Versace Blue Jeans as a user for more than ten years is simply one aftershave that has my attention in a sense of smell , packaging, and value for money.
We have all heard of Versace designer clothes and that's how I would also categorise this aftershave Blue Jeans. A designer fragrance , just like your Calvin Klein , Hugo Boss , Georgio Armani , Lacoste etc - There are so many to name but the pattern here shows that Versace Blue Jeans has done no different to the other big brand names. Adding a scent fragrance to their range of designer clothes and for me Blue Jeans is one scent that has never gone out of fashion.
Packaged in a decorative container Blue Jeans presentation is classy to say the least , protecting the bottle at all times. Very handy when travelling and placing in suitcase or if accidently falls on floor, you just know your fragrance bottle will not smash. The Versace trademark if many don't know is the head of a lion and that is displayed on Blue Jeans bottle. The smell is sort of floral but at the same time a strong masculine smell and as it's a spray frangrance all the more easy to apply. You don't need a lot just a few squirts on the neck and your ready to go to work or off to meet that special lady. Some say this fragrance is unisex and I tend to agree , both sexes can use as the scent has that attraction appeal to it. Its floral , refreshing aroma has a good balance to it when diffusing with the masculinity aroma part of Blue Jeans. Not overpowering and reasonable staying power , why for me this fragrance is value for money as well as giving off a smell that suits my skin and my nose. Overall , despite being around for a long time its managed to keep going from the selling point of view and attraction aroma point of view. I like it.
With a versace label, this has to be my personal favourite fragrance for the R.R.P there are so many fragrances for men which give a strong masculine scent as walking by, but the effect of a fine fragrance comes at a price. But suprisingly this is the only fragrance I now buy as an individual scent.
For such a small price you can recieve a bottle which lasts with a spray function (usually this would cost more),overall this is a premium fragrance at a low low price.
