I apologise in advance to Red Jeans Perfume lovers and advise you to stop reading now!

**Unlucky**

As I said in my Jean Paul Gaultier I was getting through my perfume collection and the good, the bad and the ugly. Well its time for a rotten apple I am afraid and a bad perfume which is Versace's Red Jeans Perfume! I have unfortunately ended up with this perfume twice now. The first by my dad many moons ago who bought 3 on offer in France for me and my two sisters when we were teenagesr. We used to get little treats when he went away with work but knew perfume was a bit extravagant and they must have been on offer. I managed to get rid of that bottle somehow and though phew a lucky escape (not sure what the other two did with theirs). But no...my sister again got me a bottle of this from the kids for a birthday present this time and another set of PJs. Unlike the Benetton perfume the nozzle on this one has not got jammed into the lid to make it unusable. I have found a good little spot for this perfume in the bathroom with another bottle of perfume I have yet to review! Both sit there in pride where one may think they are in a good place to use but secretly they are there to be used as loo fresheners!

**The Versace Clan**

Versace is an Italian Fashion brand and created by Giovanni Versace and following his murder the chain was carried on by his heavily made up and bleached Sister Donatella. Versace is known as a luxurious brand and Gianni opened his first boutique in 1978. He has been making perfumes for over 20 years. I have owned a few of the Versace perfumes and they are quite mixed in quality and appeal and sell for various prices. I adore my bright crystal perfume which I use a lot as a daywear perfume and also Versace Women. However unfortunately I really dislike the Red Jeans perfume.

**In the Genes!**

Well Donatella wasn't to blame for the Red Jeans perfume as it was created in 1994 by the house of Giovanni Versace and he was around until 1997. Red Jeans is not a one off perfume either as there are several Jeans perfumes in this family! They include baby rose jeans, metal jeans, white jeans, yellow jeans and more jeans in the men's fragrances. How many perfumes can one make about jeans you ask!!

**Bottled up and Versace's Spin**

The bottle comes in a little cylinder red tin and the design and packaging of the tin is a little too fussy for me but the tin is actually quite a handy size. In fact I have reused the tin to collect my spare pennies! The bottle unsurprisingly is red and has Versace red jeans in gold writing on the bottle. The logo for this is a little old fashioned and reminds me of writing for the fair ground. It then has the Versace face on the mid part of the bottle 4 times. The Versace face is moulded outwards and the bottle is quite heavy and bulky. The bottle is no more than 6 inches tall and has a red top (which is not lost!!) which is thick and again has the Versace face on it. The top is silver and has a small nozzle to release the perfume.

Versace say Red Jeans is a sharp and flowery fragrance and the ingredients include jasmine, vanilla, musk, sandalwood and lily... Seeing as I like my floral fragrances and it sounds like it has some nice ingredients in it you would think I would like this. Also it has sandalwood in it and that is blimmin expensive as I have mentioned before when Yasmina and Ben made that silly, silly mistake in the Apprentice. It is also recommended for casual wear use.

**Aroma/Smell**

Well looking at the ingredients and knowing this is Versace you would expect this to smell nice and be a delightful and splendid perfume. As a floral perfume it is too sweet and over powering. It smells too mixed up and cheap if I am honest and is far too heavy for a ''casual perfume''. It doesn't smell like a perfume to me and even after spraying it I find the aroma still heavy and unpleasant and a little sickly. In fact seeing as I have my second bottle of this inflicted on me it went straight to the bathroom shelf and is there to use as a toilet freshener but the bottle is still pretty full up!

**Recommend it**

Not on your Nelly I say Versace what were you thinking with the whole jeans perfume collections. The packaging is too fussy and cheap. The perfume bottles are frumpy and do not entice the wearer to wanting to put it on when that is a major selling point of a good classy perfume. The biggest problem is the scent and this is just awful and I have sprayed a little again for the review and feel a little queasy now. I would say avoid, avoid, avoid! If you get one of these politely demand the receipt or try to sell it on quick or give it away!

The annoying thing about this perfume is that it is made by a famous leading design fashion brand. If this was a cheap perfume on sale then I can understand but this is Versace and the quality of it is terrible and a big let down for a designer brand! I sure hope they have discontinued it and will be pleased when all shops cease to sell it then I may not end up with a third bottle as surely I couldn't be unlucky 3 times in a row!

**Spend some Pennies**

If I have not put you off then you can purchase it from as little as £10.58 on fragrance x online for 75ml. I consider £10.58 expensive for an air freshener though. Instead I recommend the classier Jean Paul Gaultier which is 4 times the price for 50mls at nearer £40!

**Again apologies if I have been brutal and you like this perfume as the thing with perfume is it is a tricky thing to buy for others and we all have different tastes!**

Summary: Versace got it Wrong!
