Very Valentino Eau De Parfum is a fragrance which was first launched by the Valentino perfume house back in 1997. As well as the perfume you can also purchase Very Valentino bath and body products as well which help to layer and compliment the scent of the perfume. People who have dry or oily skin and find that the scent of perfumes don't really last on their skin may benefit from using the complimentary bath and body products before applying the perfume; as this would give the scent a base to layer itself upon therefore increasing the longevity of the scent. Everyone's skin types are different and each individual may experience a different reaction in the staying power or the actual scent of the perfume on their skin because everyone's skin is different.
As you can see from the picture at the top of this review the bottle of Very Valentino Eau De Parfum is supplied in a lovely chunky glass bottle which is square shaped. I like the fact that the glass is see through as you can easily see how much of the perfume you are using and how much is remaining inside the bottle at a glance. The lid on top of the perfume bottle is also quite chunkily designed and has a lovely frosted appearance which blends in well with the overall shape and design of the bottle. Even although the perfume bottle has a nice minimal design and appearance; it looks really feminine and sophisticated and it also looks really nice sat upon a shelf or dressing table.
Valentino ~ Very Valentino Eau De Parfum is described as having the following fragrance notes;
_Top Notes of Bergamot, Mandarin, Blackcurrant, Magnolia, and Lily of the Valley_
The top notes are the first phase of the perfume; they are usually the most volatile and evaporate from the skin very quickly. The top notes are usually very light and refreshing and their scent usually lasts for anything between five seconds and ninety minutes.
_Middle Notes of Jasmine, Rose de Mai, and Sheer Woods _
The middle notes of a scent are therapeutic and balancing oils, sometimes the middle notes are often referred to as the heart notes of a scent. The middle notes are not always evident and can take between thirty and sixty minutes to develop on your skin, and they last for anything between two to four hours
_Base Notes of Sandalwood, Bourbon Vanilla, Musk, and Amber Accord _
The base notes are the longest lasting notes in a fragrance, most perfumes use the same base notes. This is because they give the perfume more staying power and stop the top and middle notes from evaporating from your skin as quickly.
As soon as Very Valentino is first sprayed onto your skin you will immediately detect a slightly strong fruity aroma which has a slightly floral undertone to it. After approximately three minutes or so the scent of the perfume dies down quite dramatically and settles down to a lovely, lighter scent which isn't as string smelling. I was really surprised by how quickly the scent of the perfume settled down considering it was as string smelling a first. However this scent is absolutely gorgeous and when it is completely settled it has a gorgeous light and airy composition which I'm sure most women would love the scent of.
The fruity top notes which you can detect as soon as the perfume is sprayed is that of juicy Blackcurrants and Mandarins; as they have a really fresh and natural aroma which isn't at all synthetic or sharp smelling. I would say that the scent of the Mandarin and Blackcurrant is really sweet and natural smeiing, I would say that the Blackcurrant has more of a sweeter and more prominent aroma than that of the Mandarin. The gorgeous and sweet fruity scent of the Mandarin and Blackcurrant is complimented perfectly by a blend of sweet floral notes which seem to add some depth and richness to the fruity aroma. The sweet floral notes which are identifiable when wearing the perfume are that of Magnolia and Lilly of The Valley; even although some of the top notes are floral ones, the scent doesn't have an overly floral or cloying scent as the floral notes are quite sweet and really delicate smelling.
The top notes of Very Valentino linger for a long length of time mainly because this perfume is an Eau De Parfum scent and generally Eau De Parfum's have longer staying power compared to Eau De Toilettes. On average I would say that the top notes of Very Valentino linger for approximately 45 minutes or so before they start to fade and blend in with the middle notes of the scent. The top notes which linger for the longest length of time are that of Magnolia and Blackcurrant.
The middle notes of Very Valentino are slightly different from the top notes of the fragrance; the top notes had a nice fruity/floral composition where as the middle notes are all floral. The floral middle notes aren't as sweet smelling as the top notes are, the floral notes in this phase of the perfume seem to have a heavier floral scent and there isn't much of a sweet airy tone which breaks up the floral composition somewhat. I would say that the only middle note which adds a slight sweet scent to the perfume is that of Jasmine; the Jasmine has a slightly sweet and powdery aroma, although it isn't too heavy and cloying smelling as some may expect. I hate scents which contain Jasmine as sometimes they are too heavy and cloying although the Jasmine in this perfume is quite strong it isn't too strong as to put me off wearing the perfume at all. The Jasmine aroma is complimented nicely by the scent of Rose and a slightly earthy note which is known as Sheer Woods. All of the middle notes of the perfume seem to blend in and complement each other very nicely to produce a nice floral composition which has a slightly sweet and earthy aroma. The floral middle notes of Very Valentino last a long time as well; I would say that on average the middle notes longer on my skin for approximately four and a half hours or so before they gradually start to fade away and are no longer detectable.
Again after the middle notes have worn off the fragrance seems to smell totally different again. The fragrance changes from being floral to more of a sweet almost powdery musky scent; which is good for those whom aren't particularly fond of floral aromas. The base notes of the fragrance are mainly musky/sweet slightly woody tones. The musk base note is the most evident at this phase in the perfume because it has a sweet powdery aroma which is really feminine and sweet. The musk is complimented nicely with a subtle hint of Sandalwood which adds a little depth to the scent as well as some richness. The Musk and the Sandalwood are complimented perfectly by the scent of Amber and Vanilla which seem to add some richness, depth and warmth to the base notes of the scent. On average the base notes of the perfume linger on my skin for approximately 6 hours or so before they totally fade away and can no longer be smelt and the perfume needs to be reapplied.
All perfumes smell slightly different on different people, and this is due to us having different oils in our skin. The staying power of a scent also differs from person to person because we have different types of skin oils too. I said in the review that this perfume lasts for about three or four hours on me, but it could last a longer or shorter amount of time on you.
People who have dry skin types will notice that perfumes don't last long on their skin. If you have dry skin and have this problem you should try layering the scent of a perfume by using the matching body lotion or shower gel before applying the perfume. By doing this you are layering the scent and applying a base for the perfume to layer itself upon, so you should notice that the fragrance will last a lot longer on your skin.
If you like the sound of this perfume then I advise that you go into your local perfume store and test it before you buy it. When testing the scent spray it onto your wrist and wear it for a few hours before you decide whether you like it or not, because the scent changes the longer you wear it due to the different notes which make up the fragrance.
When testing a perfume don't smell the scent on a perfume card because it might smell lovely on the card and when you buy it and wear it at home it might smell totally different and you might not like the scent you are wearing. I made this mistake a few times in the past and wasted £30 on a fragrance which I didn't wear again and put in the bin.
Very Valentino has really good staying power; which is mainly due to the fact that it is an Eau De Parfum fragrance and eau De Parfum's contain more concentrated perfume oils in them which adhere to the skin for a longer length of time. The scent of Very Valentino lingered on my skin for over 10 hours or so before I could no longer detect the scent of the perfume. I could easily apply the perfume in the morning at 8am before I left for work and I could still smell it on my skin hours later at 6pm when I returned home. I really like the staying power of this perfume because I don't have to carry the bottle of perfume to work with me so as I can reapply it during the day.
When I am using the perfume I find that three or four sprays at any one given time is more than enough; as if you use too much of this fragrance it has a somewhat cloying almost powdery aroma which is quite intoxicating and overpowering. Less is definitely more with this perfume as it can also smell sort of cheap if you are wearing too much of it.
==Price and Availability==
Very Valentino Eau De Parfum is available to purchase in larger department stores such as Boots and Debenhams; although you can also purchase it online from some perfume retailers and also EBay at a slightly cheaper price. The price you pay for the perfume will differ greatly depending on where you purchase it from; so I would advise having a look around and finding the cheapest deal possible. Most of the time I usually purchase my perfumes online as they are substantially cheaper compared to shopping in store.
As well as the Very Valentino perfume you can also purchase the complimentary fragranced bath and body products which layer the scent of the perfume. People whom find that the perfume doesn't last long on their skin would benefit from using the body lotion and shower gel before applying the perfume as this acts as a base for the perfume to layer itself upon therefore increasing the longevity of the fragrance on your skin.

I think that Very Valentino is a lovely fragrance which has really great staying power. I would say that this fragrance is most suited to those who like fruity/floral compositions which are quite sweet smelling. Even although this scent has a slightly powdery scent it isn't too heavy or cheap smelling unless you spray far too much of it onto yourself. This perfume is best suited for casual day to day wear because of its great staying power, however you could also use it as an evening wear scent if you like; personally I wouldn't use it as an evening perfume as I think that there are other perfumes on the market which are best suited to evening/romantic wear.

Very Valentino is a fragrance line that has been on the market for a while and still sold very well. Of this fragrance you can get eau de parfum, eau de toilette, deodorant, body lotion and shower gel. It's a really passionate and feminine fragrance. It contains the warm notes of cedar and amber, but also the classic fragrances of roses and jasmine and add some more as magnolia orange citrus and blackcurrant and you get a wonderful romantic, elegant and above all feminine scent. The top notes in this fragrance are Bergamot, Mandarin, Blackcurrant, Magnolia, Lily of the Valley, Orange and Citrus. In the center you will find Jasmine, Rosemary, Rose and Violet. And the base is Sandalwood, Velvet Vanilla, Musk and Amber.
The vial is beautiful because of its simplicity. It is a square clear glass vial, which only a silver square on the front which is has golden letters Very Valentino. The vial is closed with a transparent square cap, which the neck slightly declining. At the bottom of the bottle is a label which states that the bottle contains an Eau de toilette and the contents of the vial. When you buy the bottle is packaged in a classy looking square white cardboard box. This includes only the company name, brand and product name and displays its contents.
The Very Valentino Eau de toilette is transparent in color. It seems as if the bottle is filled with water. When spraying the fragrance is very floral. It remains the first quarter with a nice flowery smell. But then come the wood scent. A lovely combination.
The fragrance I didn't enjoy that much in the beginning. It is especially in the beginning a very floral smell but after a while the wood smells comes a bit more forward and I personally find the smell much more pleasant. What I noticed was the smell after about an hour turned into a sort of musty smell cheap soap. Really a very unpleasant smell I think. It is a smell that hangs around for a while and for around five hours the scent is clearly present. I could hardly believe that this smell was so expensive. For me only two stars.

Valentino Garavani was born in Italy in 1932 and is a well known name in the fashion industry and has been now for 40 years. He is renowned worldwide for his collection of elegant womens clothing.
Very Valentino EDP
Very Valentino was released in 1997 and is best described as a sensual, refreshing oriental fragrance.
Top notes: Bergamot, mandarin, black currant, magnolia, lily-of-the-valley, orange, tarragon and citruses
Heart notes: Jasmine, rosemary, wooden accords, rose and violet
Base notes: Sandalwood and velvet vanilla, musk and amber
This is actually one of my favourite fragrances and in my opinion it is an absolutely beautiful scent. It is a fruity, floral fragrance which is slightly sweet yet clean and refreshing and I can certainly detect the floral notes which make up the heart of this scent, in particular the rose and violet. Just like the bottle, this scent is modern and sophisticated with musky undertones making this perfect for an evening out as well as day time wear. As this is an Eau de Parfum rather than an Eau de Toilette, it is that little bit more heavy and pungent which is what I love about this and it is what gives this scent real staying power. Only a little of this is needed and it still smells almost as strong as when it was first applied hours later.
The bottle is constructed from thick transparent glass and is square in shape with clean lines and angles. It is quite simple in design and this is what gives the bottle a very modern, clean, up-to-date look. To compliment the transparency of the glass, a square solid neck has been added to the bottle in silver which reflects the shape and design of the bottle. The lid is made of solid frosted plastic and tapers out towards the top. I actually find the design of the bottle to be quite impressive. The simple and clean design really appeals to me and oozes quality and sophistication. The bottle is housed in a sophisticated and elegant ice-white pearlised box which is finished beautifully with an icy white ribbon that holds the top of the box closed.

Valentino: Very Valentino, Eau de Toilette
I was first introduced to this fragrance years ago when a university friend of mine had been given a bottle for her 21st birthday from her mum. She smelt lovely and the scent instantly caught my attention, while I lived with her I regularly poached some of this perfume until I'd worked enough hours to go and buy my very own bottle. That was the first of many; I have also given this perfume as a gift to my mum, mother-in-law and a couple of friends for their birthdays.
--The Very Valentino fragrance--
Valentino launched Very Valentino in 1997 and described it as a sophisticated and oriental scent. The fragrance itself contains both a citrus and a floral blend with more low notes of sandalwood, vanilla, amber and a hint of musk. I find that it is a very pleasant daytime perfume, however, my friend prefers it as an evening fragrance. I find that this perfume brightens my mood especially on the cold and dreary days where a nice smell can perk you up before you have to step out into the wet.
I believe the fragrance lasts as long as most of my perfumes do and occasionally a quick top up is required for a stronger smell or a freshen up.
The bottle is very simple and a bit plain. If I am honest this isn't my favourite bottle in my perfume collection. It is quite a standard rectangular shape made from clear class with the label and name of the perfume placed on the middle of the front. Personally I think the bottle is a bit too non-descript for my liking.
I am sure that when I first purchased this it was more expensive than it is now. Now, I think it is quite a bargain when I was browsing Amazon the other day (which gave me inspiration for writing this) I found it retailing for £26.99 for a 100ml bottle. Personally I think that makes it a really good bargain, especially compared to some of the other perfumes I love and own.
It's hard to believe that I first tried this close to a decade ago. There are perfumes that stand the test of time and others that just disappear and this is one that has been around for a while and I doubt we will be seeing the end of it anytime soon. I am going to give this one a five out of five scoring; it is a gorgeous scent that can be purchased for a very fair price.
At a wedding I picked up a sample for this perfume and immediately I fell in love with the sweet, floral fragrance.
This has such a beautiful smell to it, everytime I spritz a bit on I get compliments for how nice I smell, and I love smelling it on myself all day as well. I say all day, but this is suitable for night time wear as well.
You could probably wear this to any occasion that you wanted to.
The bottle is shown in the picture provided by dooyoo.
I don't really think the design of the bottle does this fragrance any justice, because the fragrance to me smells quite floral and feminine and reminds me of the colour baby pink.
However the bottle does look quite classical and sophisticated, which are two words I would use to describe the perfume.
You can buy the perfume in three different sized bottles; 3.3oz, 1.7oz and 1.0oz. Depeding on where you buy this from, the price will vary.
I would defintiely recommend this perfume to all females, I think it is a very beautiful, elegant and sophisticated fragrance that I will wear time and time again.
Although I don't wear perfume all the time, now and again I do like to spritz some on and when I do this is one of my favourite perfumes and I choose to use mainly for evening wear, or if I'm going out for a meal, that kind of thing.
Sometimes I think it is a little strong so would advise only using a little bit. It will last longer that way anyway.
Definitely recommended for all the reasons above. I would recommend testing before you buy - perfumes smell different on different people.
This is the most wonderful perfume you can use it for a day in the office or a night out I have worn it for years and always get compliments on it the perfume itself if very light and has lots of flower notes It has jasmine and magnolia in it which is complemented by amber and sandelwood. It is a very strange perfume that starts off light and then starts to hear up and has earthier darker more sensual tones which come out when you have been wearing it for a little while They do minautres of this perfume which are very handy for a night out though make sure you pop the top back on tight as the minature can spill all over your bag and get wasted It is usually £30 for a fair sized bottle though I have been having a hard time finding it in shops shice they brought v out so lets hope that this one doesnt go away all together as its a great perfume
When I was in my local asda round about xmas time, I was looking for ideas for presents, I came across the perfume counter. It had 2 display cases full of different kinds of perfumes, one for ladies and one mens. There were loads of testers on the top of the glass counters, so I decided to have a squirt, I didnt just smell 1, i had to have a smell of lots of them. The one I loved the smell of was very valentino. So I had a look around to see if I could find the price and I think it was about £23.99 for a 30ml bottle, I thought that was a bit expensive, I'm not used with buying proper perfume I generally just buy cheap stuff that smell horrible. Anyway I had a look around, they had gift sets in boxes. I found a very valentino one that had body lotion in it aswell, For £21.99. You were getting 2 thing in there for the price of 1 bottle of perfume alone. So I decided i'd treat myself cos I knew nobody would get me any decent perfume for xmas, even though I hinted lots and lots. When I got it home I took it out of the box, The perfume is a glass square shaped bottle with a frosted glass square top. The body lotion is in a metallic silver 100ml tube with a silver screw top. The ingredients are; Vanilla rose sandlewood magnolia blackcurrant lily of the valley mandarin and bergamot It smells nice and fruity and flowery, I cant really explain it. Its not a heavy perfume nor a light one, its just right,( i think anyway). The bodylotion is nice too, but that is a different op.
When I worked at Radio Rentals, we had a promotional few months where we were signing new customers up to ITV Digital. Within that period I earned quite a lot of commission and with working across the road from Boots the Chemist, I thought I would treat myself to a new perfume. Normally I buy Cool Water by Davidoff, but felt I wanted a change. I asked the assistant if I could smell a few bottles, not really knowing which perfume to pick. After a few sniffs, I eventually got onto Very valentino, by Valentino. To be honest, I'm not in the know about designer perfumes, and hadn't heard of it before. I liked it immediately, and after going through the rest of the bottles, just to make sure, I had another sniff and squirted some onto my neck. The first impression I got of the fragrance was Palma Violet sweeties, that's if anybody is old enough to remember them. They were the little purple swizzer type sweets. I used to go to Devon and Cornwall and smell perfume made out of these, well that's what I thought when I was about 11years old. Nowadays, things have drastically improved and Very Valentino reminds me of these but in a rather flash bottle. I have a 30 ml/ 1 FL.OZ bottle, which I think cost me about £23.99. That's quite extravagant for me as I normally wait until somebody buys me perfume for my birthday or Xmas. The bottle is very cute, almost square in shape, made of glass with a silver top. The lid is clear/white plastic. It has made my dressing table look rather classy sat there looking posh. I have found out what the proper ingredients are, Bergamot,Mandarin,Lily of the Valley,Black Currant, Magnolia,Jasmine, Rose, Sandalwood and Vanilla. There not a hint of Palma Violets in there. How do they fit so many ingredients into such a small bottle. I found the perfume to be more for nightime than during the day, it's not what I would norma
lly choose, but for some apparent reason, it choose me, I think. Anybody liking a floral perfume would like this. It's not too heavy, and it's not too light. It did last all night when I went on my old works leaving party. Most people commented on it to say how nice I smelt. Thankyou Radio Rentals....
If you like scents that can also drive the male species wild then Very Valentino is the scent for you. Yes, us laydees do have our own likes and dislikes when it comes to scents, but if you just try it and like it then you are one of the lucky ones who are in for a real treat. The scent comes in a beautiful, smart and elegant bottle, but at an amazingly low price. You can get a box set for £23 which consists of a 30ml bottle and lotion or cream, i cannot remember. This fragrance is easy to detect and identify to the human nose which to me is excellent because that makes it unique and definitely one of a kind. What i really enjoy about this one is that you only need to spritz it once before it can be picked up. Just try it, you may even like it.
The Very Valentino by Valentino fragrance for woman comes in 3 / 3oz, 1 / 7 oz and in 1 / 0 oz Eau de toilette spray /
