Advantages: Smells lovely. Lasts well.
Disadvantages: Price
When my nan and mum go shopping in Birmingham I can guarantee that they will almost always come home with new perfumes from Selfridges or Debenhams, I loose track of which one they tell me. As a result of these perfume purchases they always seem to get some testers and free samples of other scents and these samples somehow always end up being passed on to me. Flowerbomb Eau de Parfum by Viktor & Rolf is one of these samples I was given and absolutely love.
The Packaging
As I was given a sample of this perfume and I am yet to purchase a bottle of it I cannot tell you much about the packaging. From what I can see online it comes in a rather nice looking bottle shaped like a grenade. The tester tube bottle I have is like most perfume samples, it is 1.5ml in size and what I particularly like about this sample is that it has a pump spray nozzle on the top of it rather than just the little stopper which most sample seem to have. This is great as it means I can apply it in exactly the same way as if it were a regular bottle and the liquid doesn't run down my arms or neck when I try to dab it on.
How Does It Smell?
As the name suggests Flowerbomb Eau de Parfum smells quite simply of flowers! When I first saw the name of this scent I have to admit I was a little unsure of whether I wanted to risk an overly floral scent however my uncertainties were put at ease from the moment I sprayed it. Flowerbomb is very floral and sweet, but certainly not in a sickly and overpowering way but more in a fresh and bright way which makes it a very refreshing scent to wear. There is an almost musky undertone to this scent once it has settled and when I am wearing it I feel very fresh and feminine. Regardless of its floral tones this scent does seem to have a warmth element to it and as a result of this I would say it is suitable for wearing all year round although some may prefer it mainly during the Spring and Summer months more.
I usually spray perfumes on my neck and wrists when I get dressed in the morning and as I only carry a small bag around with me I don't really like to take up the space in my bag with a perfume which may need re-applying, thankfully this is one of the scents which will last a whole day and more! As I only have the sample bottle of this scent I have only been able to wear it as many times as 1.5ml will allow, surprisingly this is quite a few as the scent doesn't need re-applying and quite often I can smell it on my clothes the following day and although it certainly isn't as strong as the previous day it is still detectable with ease and smells lovely.
Price
Flowerbomb is currently retailing at £48 for a 30ml bottle in Selfridges! Personally this is slightly out of my price range hence the reason I haven't made my purchase yet! On Cheap Smells website I see that you can get the Eau de Toilette version of this scent for £48 for a 50ml bottle, still expensive but a little more scent for your pennies and as I'm not sure what the difference is between and Eau de Parfum and an Eau de Toilette I think I may take the "more scent" option. If anyone knows the difference I would be very grateful of an explanation.
Would I Recommend?
The price tag for Flowerbomb is a little too high for me, but at the same time the scent is gorgeous and I seem to almost find myself saying that it is worth such a high price! I would certainly recommend the scent if you don't mind the higher price tag, it is feminine, flowery but not sickly and it lasts well and I will probably treat myself in the future, or hint at a bottle for Christmas!
4 out of 5 from me.
Thanks for reading :)
