Liberate yourself (Vivienne Westwood: Libertine, Eau de Toilette)
Member Name: gaultier100
Advantages: A perfume perfect for spring Disadvantages: The bottle is too small
My initial reaction on finding a new Westwood scent was pure excitement, because although I like the perfume's predecessor, Boudoir, I find this scent quite overpowering at times. Libertine is the complete opposite, almost like a naughty daughter of Boudoir. It is light and fresh with a hint of sexuality just to keep you guessing. The bottle is a similar shape with the traditional royal orb on top, Westwood's trademark. Inside is a cacophany of fragrance with sun-drenched pineapple and grapefruit hitting you full in the face followed by bergamot and passion fruit. In the heart of the scent is a more floral mix of lily, honeysuckle and vibrurnum, giving it a lift of youthful innocence. When spritzed on, this perfume cannot help but lift your spirits - it is full of the joys of spring and extremely lively. My favourite part of this scent has to be the very definition of a libertine, included with the bottle: 'A person who behaves without moral principles or a sense of responsibility' (Oxford English Dictionary). For me, this just sums up everything which is great about this product. Summary: |
