Paco Rabanne: XS Pour Elle, Eau de Toilette

~~~Reason For Purchasing:~~~ Well I was bought this Paco Rabanne Xs Elle Eau De Toilette Spray as a gift from my Mother, the Christmas before last. I had never tried or even thought of trying this fragrance out before as I have always associated Paco Rabanne fragrances with men really and did not even realise Paco Rabanne made women's fragrances until just over one year ago. It's difficult to write an objective opinion on something you like for subjective reasons, but I'll try. Well I'm sitting here covered in the stuff now because I'm trying to reason why I like it so much, so I'll give it my best shot... Firstly, it's a nice smell. Loads of really expensive perfumes smell absolutely disgusting, and this one smells fresh, and i'd say it was slightly fruity if pushed. In general, XS is light and gentle, and smells like a normal perfume. Not too obscure, but classy. I am addicted! I was bought this by chance (I'd asked for something different) and I'm so glad of the mistake because I've now found my signature scent. It's completely different to anything else I've tried and it's a hard one to describe. It's quite a sweet scent though not overly or sickly. It can be overpowering but if you use a little it'll last for hours. I love the bottle, the colour and the style is gorgeous and very feminine and also adds to the whole 'rock chick' style this fragrance gives off. Most perfumes come with an image and XS pour Elle does, but it is one of simplicity and purity. This is one of those perfumes that I adore to splash all over, just to relish the very first few floral hints of it - the water jamsmine, freesias and peony. Only just after it has been liberally applied can the rest of the scent begin to come through - namely the sandalwood and amber - which are rich but still in low enough concentrations not to be overpowering. This is a great perfume for people to try if they have been through almost eveything else on the market and are sick of them.
