      A versatile fragrance

~ Tell me all about it! ~
      ******************

Yardley have been producing a range of fragrances for so many years now that we often tend to over look them. I feel that certain of their simple floral scents are very good for wear around the home or for spring or summmer days out, for use in conjunction with aromatherapy treatments and even as dare I say it room spritzes and pillow sprays. The Yardley Lavender Spa Fragrance is part of the revamped fragrance range that includes this EDT and a number of matching and toning body products.

I have always liked lavender based scents and have bought and used this one to good effect around my home to fragrance it and set a relaxed and enhanced mood, as well as using the product as a general all over body spritz and pulse point fragrance. I feel the lavender within the fragrance is as distinctive as the Yardley lavender based scents have always been and I like the freshness it imparts. As the fragrance is so very easy to wear a product suggestion was made to allow me to share my thoughts about it.

      ~ Bottle, box, design? ~
      *********************

A pale lilac toned theme is used with this product and the box that the fragrance comes in has been given a more modern and updated feel, as has the shape of the scent bottle itself. The bottle is sleek with a nipped in waist and looks and feels modern and light. Gentle tones and shades have been used to create a light and airy looking product that I feel could be bought for younger and older women alike. The absence of fussy packing and floral motifs makes the impact of the product more appealing to the eye and helps it stand out on the shelves.

      ~ How much? ~
      *************

The Yardley Lavender Spa EDT is set amongst the lower priced fragrances that you can buy. I find it pleasing that the scent comes as a 50ml glass spray top bottle which contains a reasonably long lasting fragrance that can range from £6.49 to £9.99 in many larger stores. I have also seen this sold at posh garden centres and the pretty floral scents on offer within the range obviously suit the outdoor theme. I feel that at the lower end of the price range the fragrance is good value and is worth looking into.

~ Top, middle, base notes? Oh just tell me how it smells!~
      ********************************************

The overwhelming scent I get from the Yardley Lavender Spa EDT is of course lavender and I would be rather put out if it didn't come through strongly with a fresh breezy tone to it. The addition of citrusy bergamot enhances the lavender freshness yet fruity tones of pear and mandarin combine to add more of a rounded feel that I like. The scent dries down to allow the base notes of amber, sandalwood and musk to come through and keep the fragrance going on your skin in a rather more subtle less floral and fresh way. This allows the Yardley Lavender Spa EDT to become a softer mood enhancing and relaxing scent, perfect to spray on before bed time to aid more relaxed sleep.

~ How Yardley describe the fragrance! ~
      ******************************

Yardley say of the fragrance 'No one knows lavender quite like Yardley' a claim I feel assured is completely genuine. They go on to say that this lavender fragrance is 'uplifting, yet calming' and I would agree with that totally as I have found it to be calming yet fresh when worn. When Yardley go on to describe the over all theme and feel of Lavender Spa they say that it 'combines the therapeutic benefits of lavender with the healing qualities of aloe vera to create the ultimate everyday luxuries that restore and heal the mind and body'

      ~How do you rate it?~
      *****************

I feel that the Yardley Lavender Spa EDT is a nice fragrance for wear when you want a little help with relaxation and just want a simple lavender based scent with no frills or fuss. I do feel the fragrance has a modern twist to it at times but I still enjoy the fresh lavender scent that comes over keenly when I first spray the fragrance on to my skin. As the product can be used not only as an EDT but as a pillow spray a body mist and a room spray I feel it has plenty to offer and must rate it accordingly. With everything in mind I want to award Yardley Lavender Spa a 4 star product rating.
