      Nice for the price!

I have had my eye on these Yardley fragrances for a while and there were a few I fancied trying so I ordered a few of them online.
Orange Blossom was one of the ones I was keen to try so I ordered a 50ml bottle of it.

      ~ Bottle ~
The bottles for these Yardley fragrances are all the same shape. They are tall rectangular bottles, which curve inwards at the middle.
A gold coloured cylindrical lid sits over the spray release button and there is a small orange rectangular label in the middle of the front of the bottle with 'Yardley' in white lettering and 'Orange Blossom Eau de Toilette Vaporisateur' underneath.
I like the bottle. It is fairly simple, but I like the way it curves inwards in the middle.
The bottle is not the same as that pictured.

      ~ Price and availability ~
This eau de toilette is available in a 50ml bottle.
It is available to buy online at www.cheapsmells.com or www.amazon.co.uk.
The 50ml bottle costs £3.85 from amazon.co.uk or £5.08 on cheapsmells.com. The recommended retail price for the 50ml bottle is £9.99.
Most of the other scents that Yardley have released in the collection are also available in 125ml bottles, but I have not seen this one in a 125ml bottle.

      ~ Scent ~
This fragrance opens with a clean, crisp almost woody scent, which is quite masculine. It reminds me of a fragrance I would smell on a man, but it is really nice. It smells a bit like that 'new carpet' smell.
It is quite sweet and it has a soft floral scent.
The notes are listed as simply being orange blossom and musk.
As the fragrance develops the orange blossom scent becomes stronger and the fragrance becomes even sweeter. I actually thought about washing it off the other day as the overly sweetness was irritating me. I think you have to be in the mood for this one. It still retains the woody 'carpet' scent until the end.
It is a very pleasant fragrance. I really like it.
It is definitely a day time scent, being too light for night time wear.
I think this fragrance will appeal to women of all ages. It is sweet enough to please younger girls, but it is too has a floral woody scent, which I think more mature women would equally enjoy.
The fragrance lasts on my skin for around 5 hours, which isn't great, but isn't too bad for the price.

      ~ Conclusion ~
I would recommend this and I would purchase it again if my bottle ran out.
It is a light, floral, woody fragrance and although it is quite masculine it is really crisp and I really like it.
It isn't very long lasting, but it is also inexpensive and my 50ml bottle is small enough to carry around in my handbag so that I can freshen up if need be.

        Floral summer fragrance

~ Tell me all about it! ~
        ******************

Yardley produce a good number of fresh floral based fragrances including this sweet yet spiced and zingy Orange Blossom fragrance. This Orange Blossom fragrance is one of the Yardley range of single themed floral scents that I have tried and in this case rather liked. The fragrance wasn't listed here but as it has now been added to the Dooyoo database I am able to share my thoughts about it.

The Yardley Orange Blossom EDT spray is an orange and floral scented fragrance that I have worn in summer time. I have found it easier to wear than the Hyacinth fragrance from the same range but it does lack a certain amount of finesse when I compare it other orange based fragrances that I have tried. In 2009 the scent won the Pure beauty Award for the 'best new self scented fragrance' and I felt that was a good recommendation when I looked into purchasing it. The look of the fragrance has been updated as has the fragrance itself and I feel that it has a summer floral scent that wears well.

        ~ Bottle, box, design? ~
        *********************

The Orange Blossom theme of the fragrance has been toned down when it comes to the box and the bottle that the fragrance comes in. The box is simple, light and rather understated. The heavy floral motifs of old are long gone and the over all look is of a fresh modern product, not a dowdy old ladies fragrance. The Yardley name is set in the centre of the pale toned box amid a small panel that is a riot of bright and bold peachy orange. The trim detail that runs around the edge of the box is in the same zingy colourway which makes the box stand out well.

The bottle has had a very slight revamp and shows off a much more understated look, the floral label is gone which leaves the bottle looking more in keeping with the new box. The simple clear glass bottle allows you to view the fragrance within easily and a plain gold toned lid completes the look. The fragrance can be applied to the skin via the simple spray applicator which I have found was very easy to use and required just a light pressure.

~ What might it cost? ~
        ******************

The Yardley Orange Blossom EDT ranges from £6.49 to £9.99 for a 50ml sized bottle of fragrance. I feel this makes it affordable and attractive to fragrance buyers who are looking to buy an easy to wear day time fragrance that is not overly expensive to buy. Many stores stock the fragrance and it can also be bought online if required so ought to be easy to source.

~ Top, middle, base notes? Oh just tell me how it smells!~
        ********************************************

As with anything the beauty of a specific item is often in the eyes of the beholder. In this case its in the way the fragrance reacts with the oils in the skin of each person who becomes acquainted with it. The top notes within the fragrance are cognac, petit grain and orange and although I cannot pretend to smell the first two, the orange scent it present in abundance and offers up a lovely zesty burst when its first spritzed on. I rather like its invigorating and fresh feel, although it does fade all too quickly.

The heart notes in the fragrance have an orange blossom tone that is very pretty and easy to wear. This is combined with geranium, clary sage, caraway seeds, violet, coriander, lavender and jasmine. These inclusions add a floral yet mildly spiced tone to the fragrance that is more subtle than the ingredients might suggest. Strength and longevity come from the additional base notes of warm amber which adds a little more much needed depth, sandalwood and musk. These help the fragrance to soften and yet remain for a number of hours before fading away.

        ~How do you rate it?~
        *****************

I feel that the Yardley Orange Blossom fragrance is pretty and easy to wear. It offers a certain amount of longevity when worn over a number of hours but it certainly will not last a whole day without another spritz of the fragrance on your skin to refresh it. The orange themed scent is attractive and inviting but cannot compete with some other orange based fragrances that I have tried. I feel that this is to be expected as the fragrance is set within the budget price range and as such it cannot be expected to perform like a premium fragrance might. Over all this is a very pretty summer scent that offers good value and I feel it ought to get a 4 star rating.
