Cheap pretty but not long lasting

love perfumes and I actually would feel naked if I left the house without a few squirts. I have a few expensive ones but the majority of what I buy is cheaper brands so that I can wear them whenever I want without feeling guilty about using too much or spending too much money on buying them.

There are loads of cheaper brands of perfume which are lovely and no matter what kind of perfume that you like you can find something on a budget which will suit you. I am quite attracted to Yardleys range of perfumes as they can be picked up for hardly any money and there are some really nice smelling perfumes available.
I have always been attracted to feminine fragrances and I love both florals and fruity smelling perfumes and Yardley have loads of these kinds of perfumes to choose from. They aren’t all overpowering and old fashioned smelling and this Peony one smells very fresh and modern.

It is both fruity and flowery and it is a nice combination. It smells very much like I would imagine a beautiful garden to smell after a summer rain. Well thats what I always think when I smell it anyway. It is lovely and feminine and although floral it isn’t too flowery and sickly smelling. It is very light and fresh smelling though I do think that the biggest downfall of this perfume is how long it lasts.
I appreciate a light perfume sometimes but even if it is light I should still be able to get whiffs of it later on in the day and whilst this smells beautiful when I first spray it there is no longevity to it. After 2 or 3 hours at the most the perfume has all but completely disappeared from my skin with not even hint of it to be found.

It is a shame it lasts for such a little amount of time because it really is a pretty feminine fragrance. Luckily it is so cheap though so even though it doesn’t last very long it doesn’t matter so much because of the price. The last bottle of this that I bought only cost me £7.99 for a 125ml bottle so I could spray as much as I liked without feeling guilty I was wasting it and I was quite heavy handed with it so it would smell a bit stronger and also I only really wore it when I knew I was only going to be out of the house for a couple of hours so the longevity wasn’t a huge problem for me.

      Wonderful Yardley!

Before I get stuck into this review I must first point out that I am not reviewing the Yardley Peony Eau De Toilette but the Yardley Peony Body Spray and Dooyoo instead of giving me another link have told me to pop my review here so here I am.

I was out, as usual the other night with my mad mate Liz nosing around our local Asda store. We only nipped in for a few essentials but came out armed with plenty of carrier bags like we usually do to be honest lol. We did have a look in the toiletry section of the store and I spotted these and did a quick sniff test and mentioned that I liked the scent of this one and to my surprise she treated me to it and at a pound a can opposed to the usual £2.99(ish) price tag this carries she got a bargain and I got a nice friend and to smell flipping marvelous!

      The Packaging:

The first reason I took any notice of this in the first place was because of the really top class look of the can to be honest. It just looks so expensive and classy! The can of this one is a bright pink and cream with white and brown witting neatly on it and on the front of the can we are told that it is Yardley Peony Refreshing Body Spray and that it contains 75ml of it. On the back of the can other information listed includes being told how to use it and warnings are listed, the ingredients are given and contact details for Yardley are stated as is some information in a foreign language. It has a simple matching pink pull on/off lid to the top of it concealing the white push button aerosol sprayer. Like I say this is a nice can and one I like to display on my dressing table!

      The Fragrance:

This is simply a stunning body fragrance from Yardley and in fact my favourite out of all the ones I have recently been using. It sprays out wet, dries immediately and leaves no feeling of residue behind itself at all and because its cool when sprayed it is nice and refreshing too as is promised on the can.

This is just the smell of the peony flower at its best. No harsh overtones, no hidden ingredients its just a pretty and sweet and very natural fragranced body spray this one and so well blended and I simply love it!

Once sprayed on my skin this lingers freshly and subtly on my skin for hours and hours and for me this is just such a sophisticated and womanly fragrance and natural whereas a lot of body fragrances really do smell anything but natural.

These are on offer at the moment at Asda stores for a pound a can and I strongly advise the more mature lady (over mid 30's) to give this one a go. Its classy and beautiful and as I have said I LOVE IT!

Available in all good supermarkets and chemists etc.
