Advantages: Great staying power

Disadvantages: Overpowering scent

Beautifully packaged, almost a cult scent to some, Yves Saint Laurent´s Opium (apologies to addicts) seems to be a perfume a lot of men buy for their ladies - maybe they like it - but ladies, truly, do we? I think this is a "love or hate" scent. My mother used to wear it - I did not like it on her, some very generous, kindly boyfriend brought me some from the Duty Free - I had to appreciate and wear it if only to be polite - the two events were 15 years appart - and sorry, that is how long it would be before I tried this scent again. I could not escape from it! (if you like the scent this will be a plus), it followed me around, hid in my wardrobe and in my clothes, and, unfortunately every time I wore it I got a slight headache. If you are considering a purchase - if you love it (please walk around with it for some time - no impulse buys!), great, it does have amazing staying power - but make sure you really, really like it ! - a lot of people do!, just not me.

Summary: It´s definately a love or hate thing with this one!
