Long ago during the summer of our youth, Himself returned from a business trip with a gift that changed my life forever: He presented me with my first bottle of Opium. Since that time, I've never truly been the same. I still dabble occasionally with White Shoulders and Narcisse. Obsession and Green Tea are welcome on my dressing ...  Read the complete review

In my home on a Friday night it stinks to high heaven! My parents go out and they insist on wearing his and hers matching fragrances. Usually it is this Opium that gets flashed about, sometimes it's Obsession and there's me getting ready to go out too and like I say it can stink in my home lol. My Mums favourite fragrance is this. It's ...  Read the complete review

Beautifully packaged, almost a cult scent to some, Yves Saint Laurent´s Opium (apologies to addicts) seems to be a perfume a lot of men buy for their ladies - maybe they like it - but ladies, truly, do we? I think this is a "love or hate" scent. My mother used to wear it - I did not like it on her, some very generous, kindly boyfriend ...  Read the complete review

~~Reasons For Purchasing~~ I received this Opium parfum from Yves Saint Laurent for a Christmas present from my Mother and was quite excited on trying it out. I had remembered trying out this perfume, many years ago, but I could not remember if I liked it or not, so I could not wait to try this perfume out again and remember it's fragrance. I ...  Read the complete review

I like to have a selection of perfumes for different occasions but opium is always one of my favourites. Some may consider it a bit heavy for day wear, but wonderful for a night out-or in with a loved one. It doesn't stop me wearing it in the day when I want to feel special though. The scent is very sensual and hints of exotic, faraway places. ...  Read the complete review

Express Review on Yves Saint Laurent: Opium, Eau de Toilette

A couple of weeks ago on the way back from an overseas trip, I found myself in the unenviable position of not having bought my girlfriend a souvenir. I deftly visited the duty free shop at airport, only to be met with a dizzying array of women's perfumes. The name on the bottle caught my eye, as she is an exotic Portuguese-speaking African beauty. One sniff and I was floored.

She loves it, and I love it on her. She's been wearing it constantly since I've been home- the smell is addictive. It lingers on clothes, on the bed, and after she's left the room. Today I went out and bought the men's version.

Since I was nearly 14, in the summer of 1991, I have been in love with Opium. It will always outshine everything else. At the time I had no idea that it was even perfume. A relative who is a Monica Belucci lookalike wore it. I was awkward and rather ugly and greatly impressed by her. Years later, on smelling this wonderful scent again, ...  Read the complete review

Opium Opium was launched by Yves Saint Laurent in 1977 and is described as being a “refined, subtle, oriental fragrance.” Packaging Opium is packaged in a classic box which is a bright amber colour and is decorated with gold leaves. The bottle itself is see through and is an oval shape and made from glass. The lid is ...  Read the complete review

This is my first fragrance review, so be nice to me! As I'm on a limited budget at the moment, I usually opt for the cheaper kinds on the market and just lately I've been buying perfume from Avon. I like Avon, but there are other perfumes out there I like better! On my birthday last year I was given a bottle of 'Opium' (from Yves Saint ...  Read the complete review

My husband has been working away in Crete and returned home on Friday bearing gifts. One of the gifts he bought for me was a bottle of Opium perfume, this has been a favourite perfume of mine for many years and I normally only receive it for Birthdays and Christmas so it was a real bonus to receive a bottle so close to Christmas, especially as I ...  Read the complete review

Normally associated with the older woman (my mum has had a bottle for years and not worn it much, so I might be a bit out of line with my first statement, but forgive me if I am), I was stunned to be given a bottle by a current boyfriend at the age of 20. However I had always liked the smell so I wasn't not going to wear it. However I ...  Read the complete review

The first time I used Opium was 1979 and I loved it! So did my hubby. When I changed the man, I changed the perfume. But nothing came close (to perfume and man). After years of changes (men and perfume) I'm finally reunited with Opium und ex-hubby. The fragrance is wonderful. Not too sweet, not too cheap. It's erotic, strong, spicy and ...  Read the complete review
