This has been my favourite perfume all my life. I first discovered it the year it came out. I was still at school and smelt it with some friends in a department store. I was bowled over by it. Of course then I couldn't afford it, but later when I was working, I bought some.

As the previous reviewer described very accurately, it is innocent, "light" but durable. It's flowery but not a cloying heavy sweet flowery. But DEFINITELY a feminine perfume - none of this "unisex" stuff for me, thanks! Honestly, my heart did a little leap when i first smelt it. Smell is one of our most powerful senses and can evokes memories of long ago.

It's become a modern classic and deservedly so. It is light enough for day wear, but distinctive and lasting enough for evening wear. It is inoffensive but never bland and wishy-washy.

It contains predominantly roses and violets. They are the topnotes. Violets are a great flower - they are first you smell them, then you don't, then they come back again. It's some olfactory trick I think. Also, mayflower and many other ingredients. You can buy it as an eau de toilette (probably enough for most daywear) and as an eau de parfum (when you want something more powerful to compete with fag smoke and other perfumes).

I am a real fan and I always train my men to buy it for me :)

Summary: I have other perfumes but this is my signature scent :)
