Advantages: I got a great gift with mine! Beautiful scent, not that common (as yet)

Disadvantages: Slightly tacky packaging

Vice Versa was the second limited edition perfume released by Yves Saint Laurent in 1999, however, how limited edition it proves to be is questionable as I recently just bought another bottle in 2001. However, I am hardly complaining!

The perfume was created for YSL by perfumist Dubreuil Karine who says that what he aimed to achieve was quote "to capture the harmonius duality of the perfect match", hence "Vice Versa".

Vice Versa is a romantic, fruity-floral, retro-70's fragrance, given a modern twist with it's delightfully savory notes of cherry tomato, raspberry, bluebell and iris.I usually wear perfumes like Chanel Allure, Deci Dela by Nina Ricci and Ghost by Ghost, if they give you any indication of my taste. Personally, I don't really know how to describe its smell, that is such a hard task. However, I would say that it is a summery floral scent, not too overpowering, but not subtle enough to blend into the background.I would say that is has a distinctively young feel to it. I know that when I chose to wear this I always get quizzed as to what I am wearing and usually people have never heard about it.

I was actually lucky enough to be given a bottle of Vice Versa by my boyfriend last year when he returned from his holiday. I am quite picky when it comes to perfumes, so was amazed that he had actually found something that I really like!

The bottle itself is very distinctive, it is a square bottle with a slightly tacky looking, I have to admit, heart shaped lid in gold with a red top saying Vice Versa the top. However, that is the only complaint that I have and I have actually grown to like it, it looks less tacky in time! Vice Versa is in no doubt a truly grown up and beautiful fragrance.

Another issue that I do have, is that as it is limited edition fragrance they do not do any matching body lotions or shower gels, which I quite like to have to make the scent last longer. However, I
guess that is me being picky!!

Overall, although this isn't one of the cheapest perfumes on the market, it retails at what you expect to pay for a designer scent and it is a substantial size bottle and worth it.
