A quiet frost free freezer that works with minor quibbles

The Beko upright frost free freezer is a mid price range freezer that we purchased to replace 2 smaller freezers.

It offers good energy efficiency for the price with a tested rating of A+ which we considered good for the price compared with other makes.

It comes in white only, with handle at the top (about 5 foot high). It can however be opened from lower down by pulling, but as with all freezers be careful of damaging the seal.

The freezer has 5 decent size wire drawers with plastic fronts / handles and an ice tray. It also has a fast freeze function that worked well.

      What's good?

      It freezes food!
Unlike previous experiences with fridges and freezers, this really is frost free - there has been no need to defrost in over 12 months.
Trays are deep and of a reasonable size.
The freezer is VERY quiet compared to other models we have.
The seals and insulation are great - there are minimal heat emissions from the freezer, and during a power cut food stayed frozen for over 24 hours. (actually it wasn't a power cut, it got turned off accidentally!)
You can fit a lot of fridge magnets on the front too.

      What's not so good?

The drawer covers are plastic and quite thin. They appear to become brittle when frozen and 3 of ours have broken when using minimal force leaving the wire tray behind. A minor irritation - minus 1/2 star.
Whilst the drawers do fit on the runners, there is very little overlap - if you pull a drawer out, it can be really fiddly to get back on the the runners. A minor irritation - minus 1/2 star.
The capacity is not great at 157 litres and could be bigger given the size of the unit - having said that, you know the size you are buying, so an irritation, but no star loss.

      Recommedation?

We like it as it is quiet and efficient - if you can live with the above minor issues then i would certainly recommend.
