Advantages: Well priced, works well, reliable
Disadvantages: None for me
We have a standard sized fridge freezer in our kitchen but when I go to the butchers I tend to bulk buy meat and freeze it. We were finding that we just didn't have enough room in our freezer so decided to purchase a small freezer to go in our garage to store the meat when we brought it.
As it was only going in our garage, we only wanted a small, cheap freezer and eventually decided on the Beko ZA630 freezer. This is a freestanding freezer which is suitable for under the counter use if needed. Although it didn't matter to us, it has a reversible door.
The freezer comes with three good sized drawer compartments as well as an ice cube tray. We purely chose this one for cost purposes and it has turned out to be a very good freezer indeed for the price we paid. The freezer got to temperature quickly after we first plugged it in and it keeps our meat at a really good temperature so everything is completely frozen.
This isn't a frost free freezer with an automatic defrost function so one bugbear of this freezer is that it does need to be defrosted by hand but provided you don't let the ice build up too much, it isn't too bad a job and we have found that the ice doesn't build up particularly quickly so it isn't a job that needs doing on a regular basis.
Again, as the freezer is in the garage, noise isn't an issue for us but in the garage but this is quite a quiet freezer and you don't get that annoying buzzing sound that you do get with some freezers which is a bonus if you are using this in your kitchen.
The freezer dimensions are H84cm x W54.5cm x D59.5cm. The freezer might not be overly large but I was surprised at how much stuff I could actually fit in it. This gives you a net food storage of 85L according to the product specification and it really is deceiving how much you can get in it.
This freezer comes under Energy Efficiency rating A and comes in either silver or white but we went with the silver one. The price for this freezer from Tescos is £154.00 which is about average for this style and size of freezer and it has turned out to be a bit of a bargain as I can now store much more frozen food which is a godsend during winter so I don't have to go shopping if the weather is bad.
Overall, this is a really decent, cheap freezer that has so far given me no reliability problems and freezes food perfectly and so it comes with a recommendation from me.
Summary: A good cheap freezer from the Beko range
